Ashwini Kalsekar to play lead role in ‘Daak’
Popular Marathi actress Ashwini Kalsekar will be seen in the lead role through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Daak’. The shooting of this horror film is complete and the film will be released in theatres on 13th October 2023.
Produced by Ratish Tawde and Mahesh Nene under the banner of Mahesh Nene Productions, the film has been directed by Mahesh Nene. Pickle Entertainment’s Sameer Dixit and Rishikesh Bhirangi will be distributing this film.
The film comments on the practice of Daak. On the twelfth day after a person’s death, the spirit of the deceased is summoned by a letter about the reason for his sudden departure. Based on this theme, the film ‘Daak’ claims to be a thriller, a murder mystery. Mahesh Nene has not only directed but also written the story for this film. Besides Ashwini Kalsekar , artistes like Sanjeevani Jadhav, Aniket Kelkar, and others will also be seen in this film.
Vaibhav, Sankarshan, Alok & Prajakta Mali trapped in ‘Teen Adkun Sitaram’
Ever since its announcement , Marathi film ‘Teen Adkun Sitaram’ is in the news , either for its unusual title or its star cast comprising of popular artistes like Vaibhav Tatvavadi, Sankarshan Karhade, Alok Rajwade & Prajakta Mali who are in the lead roles. Now, with the release of the film’s second poster, it is becoming very clear that this will be a comedy film, on the backdrop of cheating or fraud case, as the lead artistes are seen behind the bars and the others waiting outside with handcuffs in their hand.
Presented by Nitin Vaidya & Supreme Motion Pictures Pvt.Ltd and produced by Lalsaheb Shinde, Rajendra Shinde & Nitin Prakash Vaidya, this film is written and directed by Hrishikesh Joshi. Besides Vaibhav, sankarshan, Alok and Prajakta, this film also stars Gauri Deshpande, Anand Ingale, Samir Patil, Vijay Nikam & Hrishikesh Joshi in lead roles. Speaking about his film, director Hrishikesh Joshi says, “This is an entertaining comedy for the entire family and will keep the audience engaged to their seats. Devendra Fadnavis greets Planet Marathi on their 2nd Anniversary
Two years ago Akshay Bardapurkar launched Planet Marathi OTT platform which turned out to be the first International OTT platform in Marathi language. ‘Jar Tar Chi Goshta’ storms Mumbai & Pune
New Marathi play ‘Jar Tar Chi Goshta’ has stormed Mumbai and Pune drama theatres with ‘Housefull’ board for every show held since 5th August 2023 this month. Till date 15 shows were presented at these two places which received overwhelming response from drama lovers. Written by Iravati Karnik, presented by Priya Bapat, produced by Nandu Kadam under the banner of Sonal Productions, this play is directed by Advait Dadarkar & Ranjit Patil .
With Umesh Kamat and Priya Bapat coming together in lead roles on Marathi stage after a long gap of ten years, this play has invited a lot of attention. Along with them Pallavi Ajay and Ashutosh Gokhale are also playing lead roles in this play. This play is appreciated by audience in all age groups as it connects with their lifestyle. ‘Tirsaat’ to be premiered on 4th Sept on Ultra Zhakaas OTT
The World Digital Premiere of Marathi film ‘Tirsaat’ will be on Ultra Zhakaas OTT platform on 4th September 2023. This film is directed by Pradeep Tonge and Mangesh Shendge stars debutants Neeraj Suryakant and Tejaswini Shirke in lead roles. The songs of this music based film are composed by music director P. Shankaran.

Grand muhuhrat of ‘Rope’ at Dagdusheth Ganapati temple
A grand muhurat ceremony was organised at the Dagdusheth Ganapati Temple in Pune, on an auspicious occasion of S. S. Creations’ upcoming Marathi film ‘Rope’. It was successfully conducted in presence of actor Upendra Limaye who is playing the lead role in this film.
Besides Upendra Limaye, Producer SaiNagaraj and Ms. Srujana, Director Surya, Shruti Shetty, Kapil Gudsurkar, Mr. Rushabh More, Child Artist Dhruti etc. The entire team, as well as executive producer Kapil Jondhale, production designer Nerangalwar Raj Goud, production manager Babasaheb Patil, story writer B. Sudarshan, Dialogue Writer Sanjay Navgire, Music Director Rajveer Gaangji, Art Director Prakash Shingare, Dhananjay Sable, Co-Director Ashish Pawar, asistant director mahendra gajbhare Costume Designer Ms. Archana Bukkawar, Lyricist Mandar Cholkar, publicity designer jay kumbhare and other eminent people from the film industry were present.

Veteran actress of Marathi and Hindi films, Seema Deo is no more.
Veteran actress of Marathi and Hindi films, Seema Deo is no more. She passed away today at her Juhu residence. She was 81. Ms. Deo was suffering from Alzheimer disease. Her husband Ramesh Deo also a popular actor of Marathi and Hindi films passed away last year.Her two sons Ajinkya and Abhinay Deo are also acting and film making profession respectively.
Seema Deo who was born as Nalini Saraf made her acting debut on Big screen in 1957 with Marathi film ‘Aaliya Bhogasi’. Later, she married actor Ramesh Deo. She continued with her acting profession after marriage and we saw this husband and wife duo perform in many films including Hindi film ‘Anand’ where they played husband and wife.
Seema Deo performed memorable roles in Marathi films like ‘Molkarin’,’ Jagachya Pathivar’, Yanda Kartavya Aahe’,’Ya Sukhanno Ya’, ‘Ha Majha Marg Ekala ‘, ‘Suvasini’ and ‘Jeta’. In Hindi, she had performed important roles in ‘Anand’,’ Bhabhi Ki Chudiyan’,’ Saraswatichandra’,’ Dus Lakh’,’ Koshish’,’Jaisi Karni Vaisi Bharni’,’ Kora Kagaz’ & ‘Sansar’.
She was also conferred with Lifetime Achievement award in 2017 at Pune International Film Festival(PIFF) .
First song ‘Chahul..’ from the film ‘Diary of Vinayak Pandit’ released
Vilas Bardapurkar will be presenting his next web film ‘Diary of Vinayak Pandit’ which is biopic on the life of an artiste. This web film is produced by Aditya Vikasrao Deshmukh and Vivek Muglikar under the banner of Chitraboli Creations , One Cam Productions and directed by Mayur Shyam Karamblikar.
Recently, the first song of this film titled ‘Chahul…’ was released which is rendered by singer Abhay Jodhpurkar. Niranjan Pedgaonkar has composed the music of this song on the lyrics of Mayur Karamblikar. Speaking about his song Mayur karamblikar says, “This beautiful song will touch your heart. It is very meaningful and shows strong bonding in new relationship. I am sure that this song will be appreciated by music lovers.”
‘Teen Adakun Sitaram’ to release on 29th Sept
‘Teen Adakun Sitaram’ is an unusual title of forthcoming Marathi film which is all set for release on 29th September 2023 in theatres all over Maharashtra. The words used in the title of the film is a phrase used in Kolhapur region and according to makers of this film you will come to know the meaning of this phrase, only after watching this film. The film’s title has also a unique tagline – ‘Duniya Geli Tel lavat’, which has generated more curiosity about this film, among the Marathi film lovers.
The poster of this film which was released recently, shows a hand indicating No. 3 and also a chain with a smiley around it. This film is presented by Supreme Motion Pictures Pvt.Ltd and Nitin Vaidya Productions, produced by Lalsaheb Shinde, Rajendra Shinde and Nitin Vaidya and is written and directed Hrishikesh Joshi. Planet Marathi along with Vistas Media to launch new OTT ‘Planet Bharat’
On the occasion of Independence day, Planet Marathi in association with Vistas Media will be announcing the launch of new OTT ‘Planet Bharat’.
