Devendra Fadnavis greets Planet Marathi on their 2nd Anniversary
Two years ago Akshay Bardapurkar launched Planet Marathi OTT platform which turned out to be the first International OTT platform in Marathi language. During the past two years Planet Marathi have offered variety of films, web series, shows and events in Marathi to entertain Marathi audience. Their presentation ‘Tamasha Live’ was the most popular film on OTT platform well accepted by viewers.
On this happy occasion Maharashtra State Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Devendra Fadnavis has sent his good wishes to Planet Marathi team. Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Fadnavis said, “ I am happy that Planet Marathi, which is the first Marathi OTT platform in the world has completed 2 sucessful years of operation. I therefore convey my good wishes to Planet Marathi team and viewers of Planet Marathi. Soon they will be launching Planet Bharat OTT platform and therefore my good wishes for their new platform too.”
Planet Marathi to Focus more on Reality shows in 2023

Having offered variety of entertainment during the year 2023, Planet Marathi OTT platform is all set to offer more entertainment to their audience during this new year 2023. Besides films, web series, Planet Marathi will focus more on Reality Shows, so as to offer new platform for new comers.
It may be recalled that Planet Marathi received Best film award for their film ‘Goshta Eka Paithanichi’ and at the same time offered hit films like ‘Chandramukhi’,’ Tamasha Live’,’Sahela Re’ and web series which were well appreciated by critics.
Speaking about their plans for this year, Mr. Akshay Bardapurkar Founder of Planet Marathi said, “ We are all set to offer new package of entertainment this year with web shows, films short films and special surprises.”
Kranti Redkar to produce her Reality show on OTT platform
Kranti Redkar’s own production house ‘That Happy Girl‘ will be producing a unique reality show on Planet Marathi’s OTT platform. After having presented web films and web series on their OTT platform, this is new step taken by Planet Marathi, to offer a reality show produced by Kranti Redkar. Speaking about this show, Planet Marathi Chief Mr. Akshay Bardapurkar said that it will be a different type of reality show, details of which will be announced soon.
Producer Kranti Redkar said, “ It is a great pleasure to associate with Planet Marathi for this show as a producer, as earlier I had done a film ‘Rainbow’ with them and had a very good experience of working with them. Planet Marathi always think about the taste of the audience. I am sure, this show will be appreciated by the people all over Maharashtra, as it will open opportunities for newcomers.”
‘Raan Bazaar’ success party celebrated in a big way
Planet Marathi, A Vistas Media Capital Company, Ravan Future Production, Abhijit Panse & Anita Palande recently celebrated the success party of their OTT Web Series ‘Raan Bazaar’ on the occasion of birthday celebration of Planet Marathi founder Akshay Bardapurkar. The entire team of ‘Raan Bazaar’ was present on this occasion.

In a short time after its release on OTT platform, this series which is a political thriller, had received very good response from viewers, according to the makers of this series. Being a multi starter series, with many renowned artistes from Marathi film and television industry playing important characters, this series had invited the attention of many action series lovers.
Marathi short film ‘Arjun’ wins first prize
In order to offer opportunities to new film makers, Planet Marathi had organized ‘Planet Marathi Short Film Festival’ ( PMSFF) recently. This festival had received a very good response with 1600 entries. Out of which five short films were selected for awards. The judges of this competition were Sanjay Jadhav, Mrunal Kulkarni, Kiran Yadnyopavit, Nikhil Mahajan and Sarvesh Parab.
Madhuban Film’s ‘Arjun’ bagged the first prize comprising of Rs. 5 lakhs. The second prize of Rs. 3 lakhs was awarded to ‘Arjun’s story’ made by Rakhadi Sudios, while the third prize of Rs. 2 lakhs went to Rakhadi Studios ‘Avanti’. The consolation prizes of Rs. 50,000/- were awarded to Rakhadi Studios’ ‘Abhi- Anu’ and Rs. 30,000/- ‘ Amar Gore and Akbar Sayyad’s short film ‘Aatman’.
Planet Marathi founder Mr. Akshay Bardapurkar expressed his happiness for the overwhelming response received from new film makers for this short film festival, which was organized by them for the first time. “All the films were well presented with variety of subjects and had very good artistes. So, it was a difficult task for the judges to shortlist five films . But, they did their job very well,” he said.
New Web Series ‘RaanBaazaar’ to release on 20th May
After directing popular Marathi films like ‘Rege’ and ‘Thackeray’, Abhijit Panse is now ready with his new Marathi web series ‘RaanBaazaar (रानबाजार)’ which will be released on OTT platform on 20th May 2022. Produced by Planet Marathi , A Vistas Media Capital Company , recently the teaser of this web series had generated a lot of curiosity. Today, the trailer of this series will be out and it is clear that two top Marathi actresses Tejaswini Pandit and Prajakta Mali are playing the lead roles.

‘Tamasha Live’ muhurat with the blessings of Lord Ganesha
Muhurat clap of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Tamasha Live’ took place recently followed by shooting with the blessings of Lord Ganesha. Perhaps director Sanjay Jadhav thought that it was the right time, as the Ganapati festival was going on and slowly things are returning to normal in Maharashtra. Through this film actor Sachit Patil has turned producer, besides playing lead role opposite Sonalee Kulkarni in this film. He is producing this film along with Akshay Bardapurkar, Abhayanand Singh, Piyush Singh and Nitin Prakash Vaidya.
‘Tamasha Live’ will be a musical film with 30 songs and will be released next year during Diwali. Music of this film is composed by Amitraj and Pankaj Padghan while lyrics are penned by Kshitij Patwardhan.Speaking about this film, director Sanjay jadhav said, “Sonalee being a good friend, working with her is a big advantage. Actually she is a talented actress and therefore there is no need to talk about her acting. Sachit Patil’s acting is also appreciated by all and this time he is also in the role of a producer. And therefore I am happy and excited about this film.”
‘Chandramukhi’ based on Vishwas Patil’s novel to go on the floors soon
IAS Officer and historian Vishwas Patil has written many novels . Some of his novels have even received prestigious awards. We have seen a sensible Marathi film like ‘Pangira’ which was based on his novel with the same name. Now, another Marathi film ‘Chandramukhi’ based on his novel with the same name will go on the floors soon. Akshay Bardapurkar along with Piyush Singh will produce this film and have made all the arrangements to begin the shoot of this film in November , taking all the necessary precautions, keeping in mind the ongoing lockdown restrictions.
Prasad Oak who will be directing this film said, “Though I am excited to begin my work after a long gap, there is a lot of responsibility on my shoulders, to ensure safety during the shooting. I am aware that after watching the poster of my film ‘Chandramukhi’, you are keen to know who is playing the title role and other important roles. Even I am eager to disclose this as early as possible; but till then I need all your good wishes for this project.”

Six new film projects announced by Producer Akshay Bardapurkar
Only a day after the release of a Mega Venture Film ‘AB ani CD’ by Producer Akshay Bardapurkar of Planet Marathi, the orders for closure of Cinema halls and the Drama theaters were issued by the Government. This collapsed the Box Office arithmetic of many other films along with ‘AB aani CD’. However, without getting bogged down by this sudden onslaught, Producer Akshay Bardapurkar and his team took a brave decision to release this film on Amazon Prime.
Considering the propriety of occasion of Maharashtra Day and Labour Day on the 1st May, the film was released on the Amazon Prime and it received a good response. Now with this success, Planet Marathi is going to produce six new films & Web series projects. Producer Akshay Bardapurkar announced this recently. Two of the important films that would be arriving under the banner are ‘Gosht Eka Paithanichi’ Directed by Shantanu Rode and ‘Chandramukhi’ Directed by Prasad Oak.

opportunities during future projects for Planet Talent artists as well
as fresh talents for encouraging them. Above projects will have both a genuine variety as well as roles played by top actors from Bollywood.
