Much awaited Marathi horror film ‘Kaaal’ to be released in Russia

Set to hit the screens all over the Maharashtra on January 24 2020, much awaited Marathi horror film ‘Kaaal’ is also to be premiered on the opening day of 4th Bollywood Film Festival in Moscow. One of its kind of horror film in Marathi, Kaal has already created buzz in the film industry after it was announced and the trailer of this film became hit on the social media. Incidentally, ‘Kaaal’ would be first Marathi film to release in Russia. After its release in Maharashtra on January 24, the film will be released on 100 screens in 30 cities in Russia.

After watching the trailer of the film, the organisers of the Festival and the company involved in the organisation approached the producers Hemant Ruparel and Ranjit Thakur of Frames Productions. “The organisers were so impressed by the story of the film and its treatment that they wanted to release the film in Russia. The subject around which the film revolves has huge demands in film industry. After initial interaction, the release of the film in Russia was finalised. It is a proud moment for us as producers as the first Marathi film to be released in Russia is ours.” said Hemant Ruparel and Ranjit Thakur of Frames Productions

‘Kaaal’, which is written, directed and edited by D Sandeep, has been produced by Hemant Ruparel and Ranjit Thakur of Frames Production, Nitin Prakash Vaidya and D Sandeep. The film features Satish Gejage, Sanket Vishwasrao, Shreyas Behere, Rajkumar Jarange, Vaibhavi Chavan and Gayatri Chighlikar in pivotal roles.

According to the makers, The film revolves around the concept of Paranormal Activities and makes it different from other horror films as none has handled this topic so far. Russia and CIS has huge following of such content and proved one of the reasons why the Kaaal was picked for the Festival.
