Renowned Veteran Actor Shrikant Moghe passes away

Renowned veteran Marathi Actor Shrikant Moghe is no more. He passed away today at his Pune residence. He was 91. Due to old age, he was not keeping well, but had attended many award functions in the past, wherever he was felicitated. Only last week the 6th Ambernath Marathi Film Festival had declared Lifetime achievement award for him. In the past he had won many awards, including the Lifetime Zee Gaurav award.


Known for his memorable roles in Marathi plays like ‘Lagnachi Bedi’, ‘Varyvarchi Varaat’, ‘Lekure Udand Jhali’, ‘Tujhe Aahe Tujhpashi’, ‘Ammaldaar’ he began his acting career on Marathi and Hindi stage and performed in 60 plays. He performed in 50 films including popular films like ‘Madhuchandra’, ‘Sinhasan’, ‘Umbartha’, ‘Vasudev Balwant Phadke’, ‘Gammat Jammat’ and others. He also performed memorable roles on television, including the role of Raghobadada in the most popular Marathi serial ‘Swami’. His son Shantanu Moghe and daughter in law Priya are well Known television stars.
