Swarang Marathi find a platform for ‘Kisse Bahaddar’
During the ongoing Lock down period, the shootings of films and TV serials have come to a complete halt. Even the cinema and drama theatres are closed. TV channels are running repeat programmes . So, people are looking for a change and have switched over to social media to find entertainment.
Swarang Marathi a private channel has found a new idea . For their new programme ‘Kisse Bahaddar’ they have found a platform on Youtube and social media. This programme has been produced by Viplava Entertainment and Pallette Motion Pictures and present the humour filled happenings which take place behind the curtain during stage shows.
In the first episode veteran actress Vandana Gupte narrated some of her humour filled experiences. There are many more artistes like Sanjay Mone, Sharad Ponkshe, Vijay Kadam, Mangesh Kadam, Leena Bhagwat, Sharvani Pillay, Avinash Narkar, Bhargavi Chirmule, Shruja Prabhudesai, Rutuja Bagwe, , Shashank Ketkar, who will be part of this entertaining programme, which is anchored by Sachin Suresh. Shushrut Bhagwat has designed this concept besides directing it. This programme has been released on you tune and social media with effect from 25th May onward.
‘Parinati’ will be the first Marathi film to release on OTT platform
Due to spread of Corona virus and ongoing Lockdown Marathi film industry has also come to a complete halt for the past two months. As a result of this, there have been no releases of films due to closure of cinema halls. And one doesn’t know how long it will take for the theatre business to start . Due to this problem, Some of our Bollywood film makers have already opted for OTT platform to release their films, instead of waiting for the theatres to reopen.
Producer Paraag Mehta, who is also renowned casting director of Bollywood films, therefore feels that regional films will also have to depend on OTT platform, as an alternative to get their films released. “Somebody had to take the lead and I have done so, by taking this decision to release this Marathi film ‘Parinati’ through OTT platform . And we have been receiving positive response . Very soon we will announce the date of release.” he said.
This film stars Amruta Subhash, Sonalee Kulkarni and Akshar Kothari in the lead roles and is directed by debutante Akshay Balsaraf.
Now, Madhuri Dixit also comes forward to help Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal
After Riteish and Genelia, now it is the turn of Madhuri Dixit to offer her helping hand to Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal during this lockdown due to corona virus crisis. The Mahamandal had already appealed to all those daily wage workers to register their names with them, so as to enable them to send the Financial help and Grocery kit through their volunteers to different places in Maharashtra.
So far, 6000 such workers have registered their names and till now the Chitrapat Mahamandal has been able to help 2500 workers. The President of Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal Mr. Meghraj Bhosale had earlier appealed to all the celebrities and Bollywood personalities to help these workers who are without work for the past two months. And it is understood that Madhuri Dixit has offered a sizeable timely help. She has also appealed to others to do so, to help the Chitrapat Mahamandal meet this crisis.
Saleel Kulkarni and Arya Ambekar pay tributes to Mumbai Police
Popular Marathi Music director Salil Kulkarni and renowned singer Arya Ambekar have worked together for a two minute ‘Vande Mataram’ video made by writer- director Shailendra Singh. This video will be a tribute to Mumbai Police and will only boost their morale during this most crucial phase of corona virus . We are all aware that the Mumbai police have offered 24×7 service to the society and have also suffered themselves with the corona virus while exercising their duty.
Producd by Percept and Boss Entertainment, this video captures different moods of the Mumbai Police who have been working tirelessly. During the past two months they are not able to find time for their family members. The purpose of making this video is to show to the entire country how this police force has been working along with the health workers and doctors to stop the spread of corona virus. First look of ‘Law of Love’ launched digitally
As we are all aware that Entertainment has been a part of motivation and will be an important aspect of our lives in future. The entertainment brought to us through the medium on films has always been found useful as a stress buster. However, during this impact of Lockdown our film industry has suffered the most. With the closure of cinema theatres, the release and promotion of new films has been adversely affected. Uday has used this period of lull to bring a new Marathi film ‘Law of Love’ for our Marathi audience. As most of the people have adjusted to the new Digital regime and have been active on this medium, the producer has unveiled First Look Poster of the film ‘Law of Love’ through social media. And this has received a huge positive response.
As the name of the film is out of the box, the makers are confident that the story would also follow suit. This is the debut film for Mr. J. Uday, Producer and Screen Play writer. This film is going to be a truly viable option for the changed lifestyle of audiences after lock down. The details about the cast of the film and the fresh ingredients , are yet to be announced and hence the anxiety about this film will continue to soar till the film hits the screens.
New film ‘Kavach’ will be a tribute to Police Department
We are all aware of the services offered by our Police department to protect the lives of our citizens. Recently, we witnessed their role in the ongoing Corona virus. While serving for the people 24X7 many police also got affected with corona and some of them lost their lives. In fact, it the protective gear in the form of police around us, keeps us going in our day to day lie. And this protective gear in Marathi is called ‘Kavach’ (कवच).
To appreciate the efforts of Police, writer-director Ghanasham Vishnupant Yede under the banner of MatruPitru Films will be making this film to salute the work of police department. Very soon the title song of this film rendered by singer Aadarsh Shinde will be released of youtube channel. Music of this film by Suraj while cinematography is by Sarfaraz Khan. Earlier Mr. yede had made films on social subjects ‘Bola Alakh Niranjan’ and ‘Chal Re Fauji’ which was a tribute to our Indian soldiers at the borders.
Fine gesture by Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh
At this most crucial time, when the work of Film industry has come to a complete halt, artistes have preferred to stay home and manage their daily requirements. But, what about those thousands of workers comprising of technicians, Junior artistes and spot boys, who depend on their daily wages? These people are the worst sufferers , as many of them are starving.
The Akhil bharatiya mMarathi Chitrapat mahamandal which has registered 5000+ such workers are working hard to provide some financial help or food grains . The volunteers of Chitrapat Mahamandal re trying to reach out to these workers who are scattered at different places. The President of Marathi Chitrapat Mhamandal Mr. Meghraj Rajebhosale has appealed to Bollywood stars and other people to help these workers.
Responding to this appeal actress Genelia Ritesh Deshmukh and Riteish Deshmukh quickly responded and through their Mumbai Film Company have offered financial help of Rs. 10 Lakh for this just cause. The Chitrapat Mahamandal has thanked Rietesh and Genelia and others who have responded to their appeal.
Renowned Marathi writer Ratnakar Matkari passes away
Renowned Marathi writer Ratnakar Matkari is no more. He passed away yesterday night at Seven Hills Hospital, Mumbai, where he was admitted after being detected +ve for corona. He was 81. With his sad demise, Marathi entertainment industry has lost a legend who had contributed a lot to Marathi literature.
Born on 17 November 1938 in Mumbai, writer Ratnakar Matkari completed his education in Mumbai with a degree in economics from Mumbai University in 1958. He worked at the Bank of India for the next twenty years. Since 1978, he completely devoted his time exclusively to writing and production/direction of movies and plays.
Matkari’s first work, the one-act play ‘Wedi Manase (वेडी माणसे)’, was presented in 1955 on All India Radio in Mumbai, when he was only 17 . Besides writing plays, Mr. Matkari also worked as a columnist for newspapers and magazines during the 1970s. Matkari’s 98 works so far, include 70 plays, 18 books of his short stories, 3 novels, a book of poems for children, and 14 plays and three collections of plays for children. His popular works include, Dubhang (दुभंग) , Aranyak (आरण्यक), Ashwamedh (अश्वमेध), Indira, Sate Lote (साटेलोटे), Khol Khol Pani (खोल खोल पाणी), Char Diwas Premache (चार दिवस प्रेमाचे). Matkari’s popular plays for children include, Albatya Galbatya (अलबत्या गलबत्या), Nimma Shimma Rakshas (निम्माशिम्मा राक्षस) and Achat Gawachi Aphat Mavashi (अचाटगावची अफाट मावशी).
He was a writer for Marathi film ‘Bhai- Vyakti Ki Valli’ and ‘Investment’ a National award winning Marathi film which was also directed by him.
Aditi Dravid turns Corona warrior to help people
Marathi Actress Aditi Dravid, who played a negative role in Marathi TV serial ‘Majhya Navryachi Bayko’, has played a very positive role in real life. Aditi turned a Corona warrior through her own social group ‘Fly High’. With the help of her other colleagues from this group, namely Mandar Balkawade and music director Piyush Kulkarni she has been very active during this ongoing lockdown period.
For the past two years Aditi has been active with her ‘Fly High’ social group with her social work. Recently through her group Aditi had taken lead to distribute food packets and tea to Police on duty and also arranging essential goods and medicines to deserving people. Recently, her group distributed 1000 food packets to all those needy people. She will continue to help such people during the extended lockdown period.
