Kurale Bros. to return with ‘Punha Ekda Sade Made Teen’ on 30th January 2026
We are all aware how the characters of Kurale Bros had entertained the film lovers 19 years ago. Now, they are returning on 30th January 2026 with ‘Punha Ekda Sade Made Teen’ to entertain Marathi film lovers. Announcement to the effect was made by the makers of this film on the occasion of Christmas.
Presented and produced by a big team, this film is written and directed by Ankush Choudhari with screenplay and dialogues by Sandeep Dandavate. Cinematography is by Sanjay Jadhav. The film stars Ashok Saraf, Bharat Jadhav, Makarand Anaspure, Siddharth Jadhav, Rinku Rajguru, Sanket Pathak, Sanjay Narvekar and Samruddhi Kelkar in lead roles.
Teaser of new Marathi film ‘Rubaab’ unveiled
Zee Studios have always been trying new experiments in Marathi cinema, by presenting variety of subjects from social stories, family bonding to entertaining subjects. Now, they will be presenting a stylish love story through their forthcoming Marathi film ‘Rubaab’. Recently, teaser of this film was unveiled with a suitable tagline ‘Tujhyasarkhi Nako … Tuch Pahije’
The teaser gives a glimpse of a story of a dashing ,stylish hero and his dream girl. According to director Shekhar Bapu Ranakhambe, ‘Rubaab’ is about the strong voice of young generation. Their love is sincere but there is a swag in it.” We have tried to show this in our film,” he said.
Zee Studios Business head Bavesh Janavlekar feels that the Marathi film audience is always looking for something fresh and stylish and ‘Rubaab’ contains a strong love story, to invite their attention, besides entertainment. This film stars Sambhaji Sasane and Sheetal Patil in lead roles and it will be released on 6th February 2026.
‘Aga Aga Sunbai Kay Mhantay Sasubai’ title song released
The title song of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Aga Aga Sunbai! Kay Mhantay Sasubai’ was released recently. This song covers all the humour filled interactions between Sasubai and Sunbai played by Nirmiti Sawant and Prarthana Behere. This song is penned by Valay Mulgund and music provided by Kunal- Karan.
Singers Vaishali Samant and Priyanka Barve have rendered this song in their voices. According to Kedar Shinde, the director of this film, is confident that the audience would appreciate this film and this song will become popular during the traditional rituals like ‘Mangalagaur’.
Produced by Zee Studios and Sunflower Studios, the story and dialogues are written by Vaishali Naik and Omkar Mangesh Dutt, while screenplay is written by Vaishali Naik. Cinematography and editing is by Mayur Hardas, this film will be released on 16th January 2026.

Umesh Kamat stands tall with ‘Taath Kanaa’

Latest released Marathi film ‘Taath Kanaa’ presents a captivating biopic on the life of world renowned neuro-spinal surgeon Dr. Premanand Ramani, who believed in himself, since his childhood. His PLIF technique in spinal surgery, made him stand tall in the field of medical innovation. In short, nothing was impossible for this surgeon, who possessed human spirit.
In the film ‘Taath Kana’ versatile actor Umesh Kamat has played the character of Dr. Ramani convincingly, presenting his emotions at every important stage of his life. His looks at different stages in his life and his body language speaks about his involvement into the character. Credit for the same also goes to writer Shrikant Bojewar and director Girish Mohite, for their extra ordinary skills, to make this film entertaining in spite of its serious emotion filled subject, which touches the heart of the audience.
‘Taath Kanaa’ captures the attention of the audience right from the beginning till the end, as it relates to Doctor – patient relationship . Their interactions and the hospital atmosphere have been well exhibited. Writer Bojewar and director Mohite have presented two important operations, namely Ms. Parminder from Haryana and young Narendra from Maharashtra. Emotions of Parminder’s husband and Narendra’s family members and their faith in Dr. Ramani have also been presented very well.
Besides notable performance coming from Umesh Kamat, who stands tall with the central character; good support comes from Deepti Devi who plays Dr. Ramani’s wife Pratima very convincingly. She seems to be a button artist, quickly changing her expressions, according to moving situations in the screenplay. In the role of a young patient Narendra, Suyog Gorhe has done well, while Sayali Sanjeev as his would be wife and Shailesh Datar and Anupama Takmoge as Narendra’s worried parents have performed their respective characters very sensibly.
There are no songs in this film, but Avinash -Vishwajeet make their presence felt in the background score. Good editing by Nilesh Gawand and wonderful cinematography by Krushnakumar Soren make this film more presentable. Certainly, an inspiring film, which can be watched by all age groups.
Mahesh Manjrekar & Bharat Jadhav together for the first time
Renowned film maker and actor Mahesh Manjrekar and versatile actor Bharat Jadhav will be seen together for the first time in new Marathi play ‘Shankar Jaykishan'(शंकर जयकिशन ) Written by Virajas Kulkarni and directed by Suraj Parasnis, this play also presents Shivani Rangole in lead role along with Mahesh Manjrekar and Bharat Jadhav.
The story of this play revolves around the complex relationship between father and his daughter and unexpected arrival of a stranger generating suspense. Mahesh Manjrekar is making his comeback as an actor on Marathi stage after a long gap of 29 years and therefore for his admirers it will be a big treat.
