Vaidehi Parshurami invites all the attention in Rohit Shetty’s new Web Series
Vaidehi Parshurami is a talented Marathi actress who made her debut through Mahesh Kothare;s film ‘Ved Lagi Jeeva (वेड लागी जीवा)’ 13 years ago. But, thereafter she did not receive much attention from Marathi film makers for the reasons best known to them. In the meanwhile Vaidehi, who is well educated, paid more attention on her other skills like Classical dance, to present herself a complete actress.
Vaidehi did receive some good offers from Marathi films like ‘Kokanastha’, ‘Vrundavan’, ‘Zombivali’ and Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simba‘ in Hindi, where she played an important character of Aakruti Dave. And now, Rohit Shetty has offered her the best suited role of Nafeesa in his debut Web series ‘Indian Police Force’. In this series Rohit has exploited her full potential as an actress. In this 7 episode series which was released this Friday on Prime Video, Vaidehi plays the wife of Zarar alias Haider a terrorist played by Mayaank Taandon.
Vaidehi has played this most difficult role with complete understanding at different stages, paying more attention on her emotions throughout this series in all the seven episodes. Her innocent character of Nafeesa is not aware of the real activities of the person she loves and whom she finally marries. But, when she comes to know his real face, she has plenty of scope to display her acting skills and she has done it with with full confidence.
It will not be surprising to see her flooded with more offers from Hindi, as she deserves it the most. Rohit Shetty should be thanked for offering this talented Marathi actress the most important character in this web series, which is Rohit Shetty’s debut as a Creator and director on OTT platform.
MarathiMovieWorld spoke to Vaidehi to congratulate her on her wonderful performance in this series and she was more than happy to express her gratitude, being the most modest actress in this industry. When asked whether she was the first choice for this role, she politely said, ‘Could be’. Vaidehi’s next film Varun Narvekar’s ‘1234’ in Marathi is due for release.
Incidentally Vaidehi is not the only Marathi actress, who has been offered an important role in this series. The list is big, which includes another talented actress – Mrinal Kulkarni, who plays the mother of lead actor Siddharth Malhotra. Suchitra Bandekar, who plays Farida- the mother of Vaidehi and Sharvari Lohakare who plays the mother of terrorist who disowns her son, after coming to know about her son’s involvement in terrorist activities. Sharad Kelkar has also found an important role in this series, but he arrives in the concluding part. In short, Rohit Shetty has opened the doors for talented Marathi artistes on Hindi OTT platform.
Kumar Sohoni’s new play ‘Friend Request’ creates a Buzz….
‘Friend Request’ is a commonly used expression on social media. It is a new way of making friendship with even those who are strangers to you. Sometimes, this way may help you or also land you in trouble. Perhaps looking at the experiences of so many people, a new Marathi play with the title ‘Friend Request’ will be presented soon.
Written by Prasad Dani and directed by Kumar Sohoni, this play stars Ashish Pawar, Priyanka Tendolkar, Atul Mahajan and Ajay Purkar in lead roles. This suspense filled play filled with emotions and comedy, shows how the life of four people changes with one Friend request. The inaugural show of this play will be held in Pune at Tilak Smarak Mandir on 25th January followed by another show next day at Balgandharva Rangmandir on 26th January. The first show in Mumbai will be on 1st February at 3.30 pm in Shivaji Mandir theatre.
State Award winning film ‘Copy’ to release on Ultra Jhakaas on 8th January
Marathi film ‘Copy’ which has won many awards besides the prestigious 55th Maharashtra State award for best debut film has already invited the attention of many film lovers, for presenting and exposing some of the schools encouraging the students to ‘Copy [read review]‘ during the 10th and 12th exams. The World Digital Premiere of this film will be on Ultra Jhakaas OTT platform on 8th January 2024.
Starring renowned artistes Milind Shinde, Anshuman Vichare, Kamalesh Sawant, Anil Nagarkar and Jagannath Nivangune alongwith Vipul Salunkhe, Rahul Belapurkar, Ashutosh wadkar, Poonam Rane, Saurabh Sutar, Pravin Kapade, Ravi Virkar and Shraddha Sawant in lead roles. The trio comprising of Daya Prabha,Aashru Wankhede and Hemantkumar Dabhade have directed this film.
The film has exposed corruption in education system by school management at the rural level. How this affects the education of poor children sincerely studying in such schools by travelling long distance, is what the film has tried to present through its sensitive subject.

‘Ole Aale (ओले आले)’ is a story of a retired lonely father and an extremely busy son , who cannot spare even a few minutes with his father. Set on the backdrop of an expedition undertaken by the career oriented son Aale ( Siddharth Chandekar) to make his father Ole ( Nana Patekar) happy, under strange circumstances. During their journey they encounter a young lady Kayara alias ‘Kahihi’( Sayali Sanjeev), who joins them to discover the true meaning of life.
The highlight of this beautiful road journey film is that it has been shot at picturesque locations around Haridwar, Chopta and Kedarnath. But, more than that are the series of shocking revelations generated through the gripping screenplay from beginning till end.
Actually, ‘Ole Aale’ is a remake of Super hit Gujarathi film ‘Chaal Jeevi Laiye! ‘ and is directed by the same director Vipul Mehta who had directed the original film. However , the presentation part is simply superb through communicative sequences which are witnessed through the well written crisp dialogues. Perfect editing by Jitendra Shah, appealing cinematography by Gulam Nabi and pleasant music by Sachin-Jigar have added that required backing to this film.
Above all, the performances by the three lead artistes namely Nana Patekar, Siddharth Chandekar & Sayalee Sanjeev and well supported by Makarand Anaspure and Tanvi Azmi make this film more acceptable. Each one of them have put in their heart and soul into their respective characters. In short, after a long time this film has turned out to be a perfect gift for the new year to our Marathi film lovers. A must see film for all.
Teaser of ‘8 don 75′ launched; Film wins 90+ awards
Teaser of forthcoming Marathi film ‘8 don 75′ with a tagline ‘Fakta Icchashakti Havi’ was launched recently. The release date of this film has also been announced as 19th January 2024. The highlight of this film is its fresh subject, which has invited the attention at various film festivals in India and abroad, where this film was screened. So far, the film has won 90+ awards at these film festivals before its official release.
Starring Shubhankar tawde and Sanskruti Balgude in the lead, the film also stars renowned artistes like Sharvani Pillai, Sanjay Mone, Anand Ingale, Radhika Harshe- Vidyasagar, Ashwini Kulkarni, Vijay Patwardhan, Chinmay Sant, Dr. Nikhil Rajeshirke , Seema Kulkarni and Pushkar Shrotri in guest appearance. Jitendra Barde receive Red Carpet welcome in London for Morrya
For the first time a premiere of a Marathi film ‘Morrya (मोऱ्या)’ was held in London’s Sohowala Cinema, Courthouse Hotel Cinema, recently, where Jitendra Barde who plays the title role of ‘Morrya’ received red carpet welcome. This grand premiere was organised by Maharashtrian community in U.K. and the tickets of this show were sold out as soon as the announcement was made.
This show was organised by Sachin Patil Cinema lover and Managing Director of Unique Air Express Couriers along with Kuldeep Shekhawat, Tushar Jogi, Santosh Parkar and Pravin Karuna. Writer- director and lead actor Jitendra Barde was the main attraction on this occasion. This film had invited attention of film lovers at different international film festivals and therefore these enthusiastic film lovers in London were keen to watch this film.

sunidhi chauhan’s song ‘Mann He Guntale’ receives good response
Recently, her song ‘Aata Pitaa (आटा पिटा)’ was well accepted by the audience all over Maharashtra. And now, Sunidhi Chauhan’s latest song ‘Man He Guntale (मन हे गुंतले)’ from the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Chhapa Kataa’ (छापा काटा) has also been receiving equally good response. This song which is written by Shivam Barpande is composed by music director Gaurav Chati.
Film ‘Chhapa Kataa‘ is produced by Sushilkumar Agrawal and directed by Sandeep Manohar Navare and stars Makarand Anaspure and Tejaswini Lonari in lead roles along with Mohan Joshi, Arun Nalawade, Ruturaj Phadke, Pankaj Vishnu, Sushrut mankani, Reena Agrawal and Vijay Patkar. Speaking about this song, Mr. Sushilkumar expressed his happiness and praised singer Sunidhi Chauhan for offering her melodious voice to this song.

World Digital Premiere of ‘Pathaam Valavu’ on Ultra Jhakaas OTT
The World digital premiere of Super hit Film’s director M. Padmakumar’s Malayalam film ‘Patham Valvu’ will be on Ultra Jhakaas Marathi OTT platform on 13th November 2023. This film which is based on a real story stars renowned artistes Indrajeet Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramudu in lead roles.
The story of this film revolves around S.I. Sethu who after finishing his duties is on his way to hospital to see his wife. He receives an emergency call from his Boss, who tells him to nab a murderer. When Sethu investigates this case, he comes to know the past history of Solomon and he turns emotional.
Ultra Jhakaas have been offering dubbed Marathi versions of many such super hit films from regional languages on their OTT channel and they are well accepted by the viewers.

Romantic song on Hansraj and Pooja Birari in musical film ‘Bajind’
The title song of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Bajind’ was released recently and it has invited the attention of many music lovers. This film made by Shaan Films Creation, ‘Bajind’ is produced by Nandkumar Shinde-Sarkar and Shahaji Patil. The story of this film has been written by producers Shinde-Sarkar, Shahaji Patil, who have also handled the responsibility of direction along with screenplay, dialogues and songwriting. ‘Bajind’ is slated to release across Maharashtra on 8th December 2023.
National award winning actor Hansraj Jagtap is playing the lead role in the film. He is paired with actress Pooja Birari. The song has wordings like ‘Haatamadhe Haat Tuja, Shaharal Anga, Indradhanu Nabhamadhe Udhalto Rang…’, the love of the couple in the village can be seen in pink colors. The biggest feature of this song is the glimpse of simple village love. The song has been written by Nandkumar Shinde-Sarkar and composed by Agnal Roman in the voice of Prajakta Shukre.
Regarding this song, director Shahaji Patil said that the title song ‘Bajind’ has been taken in the film as per the need of the plot. “The song was to be filmed in a very simple manner. As it is made accordingly, it is loved by music lovers. Hansraj and Pooja’s good chemistry is another highlight of this song. Patil also said that this song, which evokes various colors of love, will touch the young and old.”
Along with Hansraj and Pooja, Sharvani Pillai, Siddheshwar Zadbuke, Anil Nagarkar, Madhuri Pawar, Usha Naik, Prema Kiran, Omkar Bhosle, Priyanka Rathod also have roles in the film. DOP Imtiaz Bargir has done the cinematography and Nikhil Gandhi has done the editing. Composer Agnal Roman has handled the production manager along with providing the background score, while Alok Gaikwad and Chandrakant Nikam are the principal assistant directors. Rajeev Sharma has done the art direction, Sanjeev Rai has done the stills and Santosh Tambe has done the casting.
