Still Photographer Sudhakar Mungekar is no more
Well Known Still Photographer of Hindi and Marathi films Sudhakar Mungekar is no more. He passed away due to heart failure yesterday (8 May). He was 73. Mungekar was living all alone and was a bachelor. He began his photography as a still photographer in 1966 at the young age of 18 with Kamat Photo Flash and was dedicated to his profession till the end of his life.
He had done still photography for about 150 Hindi films besides Marathi films of reputed film makers like Damu Kenkre, Shrikant Thackeray, Subhash Phadke and others. In Hindi film industry, he had worked for R.K Film banner for their films ‘Mera Naam Joker’,’ ‘Bobby’,’ Satyam Shivam Sundaram’,’Prem Rog’,’Dharam Karam’, ‘Heena’, Rajashri Productions films and other films. He had also worked with well Known film personalities like N.Chandra ( Narsimha’) Sai Paranjape, Dev Anand, Actress Nargis and Bhagwan dada. He was expert in Continuity photography. With his sad demise, Hindi and Marathi film industry has lost a dedicated photographer.
Amey Wagh offers his voice to Faster Fene stories on Storytel Audiobook
Faster Fene is the most popular novel series in Marathi written by Bhaskar ramchandra Bhagwat. Based on the adventures of a boy Banesh Fene these twenty books are very popular. ‘Photo Prem’ to be premiered on Amazon Prime on 7th May
Amazon Prime Video and Everest Entertainment are all set to release the Marathi film ‘Photo Prem’ on Amazon Prime from 7th May 2021. While making this announcement, the trailer of this film was also released. The film stars versatile actress Neena Kulkarni in the central role along with Amita Khopkar and Sameer Dharmadhikari in important roles. The film has been produced by Aditya Rathi, Mehul Shah and Gayatri Patil , while it is written and directed jointly by Aditya Rathi and Gayatri Patil.
The film revolves around the central character of Mai played by Neena Kulkarni, who is more concerned about her available photos which are not good according to her. So, she is afraid as to whether people will remember her after her death. The makers of this film are happy that Amazon Prime Video have been associated with them to release this film on streaming services, which would help their film to reach worldwide. ‘Puglya’ bags series of awards at International film fests
After winning the hearts of critics at the Moscow international film festival 2021, Marathi film ‘Puglya’ bagged two more awards of best film and best direction at the Turkey and Estonia film festivals respectively. This is a double achievement by producer – director Vinod Peter, whose film had already won 47 awards at different international film festivals held at places like London, Italy, Sweden, Australia, Iran, Argentina, Lebenon, Belarus, Russia, Kazakistan, Israel, USA and Canada.
