Five new Marathi films to be premiered at ‘Gulf Cine Fest 2021′
For the past eight months the business of film industry has been affected in a big way. And the Marathi films are no exception. But, our enthusiastic Marathi film makers have found new ideas to market their films. Recently, we saw the popular IPL Cricket matches played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. And now, we will witness the ‘Gulf Cine Fest 2021′ in Dubai from 20th to 23rd January 2021; when five new Marathi films will be premiered.
‘Gulf Cine Fest 2021′ is a unique concept and will present new ideas. Besides the screening of the films , the audience will also witness the team of these five films , who will interact with them. Trailers and Teasers of forthcoming Marathi films will also be shown during this festival. This festival is organised by 5 G Internationals and besides the screening of the films, there will be some entertaining programmes .
Teaser Poster of ‘8 Don 75′ released
Sushrut Bhagwat who directed films like ‘Mumbai Time‘ (read review), ‘A Paying Ghost’ and ‘Asehi Ekada Vhave’ (read review), is ready with his next Marathi film ‘8 Don 75′ with a tagline ‘Fakta Ichhashakti Havi’. The film is produced by Vikas Hande, Lokesh Mangde, Sudhir Kolte under the banner of ‘Udaharanarth production Company, which had made a strong political thriller ‘Kagar’ (read review) in the past. Sushrut himself has written the screenplay of this film along with Sharvani Pillay, while the dialogues are penned by Sanjay Mone.
Recently, the teaser poster of this film was released on social media and the unique title of this film has kept the Marathi film lovers guessing about the theme of this film. The film also has a strong star cast comprising of Shubhankar Tawde, Sanskruti Balgude, Sharvani Pillay, Sanjay Mone, Anand Ingale, Vijay Patwardhan, Chinmay Sant, Dr. Nikhil Rajeshirke and Pushkar Shrotri( In Guest appearance) . Lyrics by Vaibhav Joshi and music by Avadhoot Gupte are the other credits of this film.
According to director Sushrut Bhagwat the important subject of this film will be presented in an interesting manner through the film’s screenplay and therefore feels that this is not the right time to reveal the plot. The mystery will be unfolded when the film is released.
Reveal the logo of the most awaited film ‘Dev Devharyat Nahi’
During Diwali festive season, Oddball Motion Pictures released
their most awaited film ‘Dev Devharyat Nahi’s artful logo on social media. This film starring legendary names like National Award Winner Vikram Gokhale and Suhasini Mulay along with debutant Meghna Naidu and Reena Aggarwal.
This will be the first Marathi movie to release in theatres in 2021 after almost a year-long pandemic scare that kept the cinema halls shut.
Meghna Naidu who has done films in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam will be making her Marathi Debut with this film. She also plays an important part in the film.
This social Drama is directed by Pravin E Birje, as per him Vikram Gokhale and Suhasini was the first name cames into his mind which will be perfect casting for this film and he is very happy to have both of them in this film. He is very confident about the script and looking forward to see audience’s response once film is released in next year.
Walking down memory lane by remembering the fun instances of their first schedule, the team also wished each other and their fans and audiences a happy and safe Diwali. They reminded people about social distancing, use of masks and sanitizers.
Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale said, “The film is close to me, and when I heard the narration, I instantly said yes. The movie deals with an important topic and it must reach to a maximum number of people and I am sure everyone will be able to relate with the subject. I belong to such a school where I do not believe in only my work should be good, I make sure all must work equally well, and I try and help others.”

Bhausaheb Shinde is all set to impress through ‘Lagla Yaad Tujha’
After impressing with his performance as an actor in films like ‘Khwada’ read review and ‘Baban‘ in two different types of lead characters, Bhausaheb Shinde is now all set to impress through yet another romantic character through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Lagla Yaad Tujha’. Being produced by Rupesh Dinkar Pagare, Sanjay Baburao Pagare and Aravind Arjun Kadam, under the banner of Shakuntala Creations, the production of the film is effectively handled by Rupali Deepak Pawar and Vaishali Nitin Pawar under the banner of Jijau Creations.
A new face with the name of Akash Arjun is also set to be introduced through this film. As ‘Lagla Yaad Tujha’ is the maiden production in Marathi of the producers, they aim to come up with an extremely novel subject which is out and out musical as well as romantic too. Several nuances not at all incorporated till date in any romantic film in Marathi will be seen in the film for the first time in the annals of the Marathi films and hence the producers are confident that they will succeed in entertaining the audiences with the film.
Hailing from a very small village in Maharashtra, Bhausaheb Shinde has set his feet in the film industry along with his friends but his real struggle actually started after he bagged the National Award. After ‘Baban’, ‘Lagla Yaad Tujha’ is a film which will pave the way for Bhausaheb Shinde to entrench his feet very firmly in the Marathi film industry. The muhurat of the film was held with great fanfare in Thane in presence of several celebrities from the film industry. Though the title seemingly reveals the nature of the content of the love story, the film will unfold a lot of novelty as far as the screenplay is concerned. The concept of the film is by Santosh Dabholkar.

नुकतंच सोनी मराठी वाहिनीवर ‘आई माझी काळुबाई’ या मालिकेचा पन्नासावा भाग प्रदर्शित झाला. या निमित्तानी सेटवर श्रीसत्यनारायणाची पूजा व देवी काळुबाईची पूजा केली होती. सर्व कलाकार आणि तंत्रज्ञ यांनी या पूजेमध्ये भक्तिभावानी सहभाग घेतला. शरद पोंक्षे, अलका कुबल-आठल्ये, विवेक सांगळे, वीणा जगताप, संग्राम साळवी, प्रसन्न केतकर अशी सर्व कलाकार मंडळी या पूजेसाठी आवर्जून उपस्थित होती.

Lalit and Sai are part of a ‘Colourful’ love story
The coming together of Lalit Prabhakar and Sai Tamhankar for the first time in the film ‘Colorful’ has already raised a lot of curiosity among Marathi film lovers. Now, with the reopening of cinema halls partially after the lockdown, film producers are getting ready to release their films, with the hope that there will be audience to watch their films.
One such film is ‘Colorful’ directed by Prakash Kunte and produced by Manasi. The romantic Colorful poster of this film with Lalit and Sai was released recently. They will be presenting the romantic characters of Karan and Meera in this film. Speaking about his film director Prakash Kunte said, “Both Lalit and Sai are excellent artistes. I have seen and experienced their style of work in the past and therefore felt that they will be able to give justice to their respective characters in this film. Though their characters have different characteristics, I am confident that the audience would love to see them together.”
Nikhil Chavan is also in love with ‘Darling’
Last time we had covered the news on Prathamesh Parab returning to Marathi films with his new film ‘Darling’. But now, we understand that Nikhil Chavan is also in love with ‘Darling’, the title role played by Ritika Shrotri. It may be recalled that like Prathamesh, Nikhil is also a versatile all round actor and is likely to make his presence felt through this important film directed by Sameer Asha Patil.

Director Anup Jagdale’s new Marathi film ‘Current’ starring Monalisa Bagal in the lead role will be released next year on 21st May 20121. This announcement has been made by the maker of this film Yuvraj Survade who has produced this film under the banner of Reha Films. The teaser poster of this film was recently released on social media with the glamorous photo of Monalisa Bagal.
According to director Anup Jagdale, they believed in only one while making this film and that was to entertain the audience. The other star cast and other details of this film will be announced soon. And therefore there is a lot of curiosity about the subject of this film and the other artistes who will be part of this film. But, the film lovers will have to wait till next announcement.
Veena Jagtap steps into ‘Aai Majhi Kalubai’ serial in the role of Arya
Actress Veena Jagtap who made her presence felt through Marathi and Hindi serials in the past will be joining the team of Marathi serial ‘Aai Majhi Kalubai’ in the important role of Arya. At present this serial is at an interesting stage, where Arya sees some relevance to real life what she sees in her dreams. And that’s how there is an investigative approach to the story which leads to her past.
This is a very important role for Veena as she will be playing the character which has been planted to side the truth against dishonesty. Being shot at a picturesque location in Satara, this family serial which has a reference to tales of mythology, has already popularised among home viewers. ‘Aai Majhi Kalubai’ is telecast at 7 pm from Monday to Saturday on Sony Marathi.
Mahesh Manjrekar to direct NH Studioz first Marathi film
After a long break due to lockdown, the shootings of Marathi films are slowly returning to normal. And one such project is from NH Studioz first untitled Marathi film, which is co produced by Vijay Shinde and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. NH Studioz had earlier been part of popular films like ‘Pink’, ‘Shivaay’, ‘Began Jaan’, ‘Omerta’.
This film will be a crime thriller and is supposed to be the big project of 2021. So far, not many details about this film are disclosed. But, the film will begin its first shooting schedule soon. The muhurat shot was taken on 28th October. Talking about this ambitious project, director Mahesh Manjrekar said, “I have been thinking about making this project for a long time, the story was already built up in my head and when I met my long-time friend Vijay Shinde on one of the occasions I narrated this storyline to him. Immediately, Vijay roped in Narendra ji, knowing his inclination towards content driven films. With Ninety-nine productions and NH Studioz, We have the most appropriate synergy backing the film. I am deeply humbled by this and thank them for keeping faith in me and the project.”
The film marks the entry of NH Studioz into regional cinema as producers. Mahesh Manjrekar‘s production house ‘Mahesh Manjrekar Movies’ are the line producers and Vijay Shinde’s 99 Productions are the co-producers on the film.
