Mohiniraj Gatne finds another challenging role in new TV serial

Having played the role of Isha’s father convincingly in the popular TV serial ‘Tula Pahate Re’ and also the role of a Sarpanch in award winning Marathi film ‘Koti’ Mohiniraj Gatne has suddenly come into limelight. Today home viewers are talking about his natural way of acting. Every actor wishes that he finds variety of roles and Mohiniraj popularly known as Raj is no exception. And his wish has been fulfilled by Kothare Vision through their new serial ‘Prem Poison Panga’.

In this serial he is playing a responsible father of two children, who as a family head always feels that his family lives a happy life and therefore tries to be adjustive with every member of the family. Speaking about this serial, Mohiniraj says, “The subject of this film is different and it is being presented by a reputed banner . I liked the subject and therefore immediately agreed to play this role, when it was offered to me. Luckily for me, this serial is receiving good response from the home viewers.”

This serial is being telecast from Monday to Friday between 8.30 to 9 pm.

In Marathi we have seen many ‘out of the box’ scripts presented very effectively by some film makers. Now, forthcoming Marathi film ‘Koti’ which throws light on childhood of a transgender is all set to release on 8th November 2019. The film has already won many awards at various international film festivals for presenting a very sensitive subject, where a brother comes forward to fight against the society for injustice done on his brother.

The film revolves around the sensitive relationship between two brothers. Since this Marathi film has handled the issue of transgender , there has been a lot of curiosity about this film. Besides receiving acclaim at international film festivals, this film has won four wards at Sanskruti Kaladarpan Film awards and five awards at Kolhapur festival. The film stars Adnesh Mudshingkar, Divesh Medge, Sanjay Kulkarni, Vinita Kale & Mohiniraj Gatne in lead roles. Produced by Dr. Santosh Pote and Dr. Ms. Sunita Pote the film is directed by Suhas Bhosale, who had shot into fame with his sensational film on sand mafia. Music by Baban Adagale & Manoj Negi and cinematography by Sagar Vanjari are other credits.

Known for their extraordinary content, Marathi films have already won the hearts of  film lovers all over the world. Now, one such film which has garnered appreciation in many national and international film festivals is OMS Arts’ Marathi film  ‘Koti’, which is set to release soon.

Barring a few exceptions, such a story on transgenders has not come in Marathi films and ‘Koti’  has made a mark with this unusual subject. Child actor Adnyesh Mudshingkar  , Divesh Medge, actor Sanjay Kulkarni, and actress Vinita Kale have played important roles in this film . Om arts Productions Dr. Santosh Pote and Dr. Sunita Pote have produced this film directed by Suhas Bhosle,  who recently garnered appreciation for his film on sand trafficking mafia called ‘Reti’.

‘Koti’  has already won many awards including Indian Film Festival of India (IFFI) in the Indian Panorama category, and received a huge response after  the Indian Government sent its entry.  The film has also won  Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival  Jury award,  Sanskruti Kaladarpan Puraskar Award for Special Attention Film Award, along with  four other awards in the same Puraskars, and five  awards at Kolhapur Film Festival.

The script of the film is  by   Rajesh Durge, the DOP is Bharat R Parthsarathi , music by Manoj Negi & Baban Adgale,  along with background music &  lyrics by Sanjay Navgire. This different ‘genre’ of film s all set to release soon.

Synopsis

‘Koti’ :  Marathi movie ‘Koti’ is a story of family, caught in a dilemma of social burden love. Sham, elder son’s behavior is feminine. Father who is not able to face this social burden, decides to send away from family. But Babhrya who is younger son loves his brother so takes a stand to resist father and society and Sham caught in dilemma of gender identity and love and anger of father takes a step .This is the tragic story of an innocent transgender of rural Indian society and its social manners.
