Saii Ranade Sane makes her entry in ‘Phulala Sugandh Maticha’
Popular Marathi television actress Saii Ranade Sane will be back again on Marathi television. This time, she will make her surprise entry today in the ongoing TV serial ‘Phulala Sugandh Maticha’, which is aired from Monday to Saturday at 8.30 pm on Star Pravah.
Sai herself has shared a teaser of her entry into this serial on her social networking page, making an appeal to her followers to watch her in this serial. In this serial Sai seems to be playing a modern angry young woman . This is what is indicated through the teaser. The serial stars Harshad Atkari, Samruddhi Kelkar, Aishwarya Shete, Aditi Deshpande, Nikita Patil and others.
Varad Chavan impresses as Police Inspector in ‘Jeevalaga’
Till recently, the ongoing Marathi serial ‘Jeevalaga’ on Star Pravah was centred around four lead characters played by Swapnil Joshi, Amruta Khanvilkar, Siddharth Chandekar, Madhura Deshpande and few character artistes around them. But, with the new twist in this serial and with the entry of Police Inspector played by Varad Chavan there are many interesting happenings taking place in this serial. However, it is Varad Chavan with his new image as a police inspector has been inviting all the attention, with his particular style of dialect which also invites some humour into this serial.
Having performed variety of roles in many TV serials and Marathi films, Varad established his own identity as an actor through his characters played in ‘Ajuni Chand raat Aahe’, ‘Mangalsutra’, ‘Asmita’, ‘Devyani‘, ‘Madhu Ithe Chara Tithe’, ‘Ek Taas Bhutacha’ & ‘Runji’ serials. He also impressed through his important roles in Marathi films like ‘Kho Kho’, ‘On Duty 24 taas’, ‘Tujhi Majhi Love Story’, ‘Shrimant Damodar Pant’ and so on.
Varad is now following the footsteps of his father late Vijay Chavan a legend of Marathi entertainment industry. During the past few years, he has also gained a lot of experience, to prove his skills.Last time when we met him, he had said that was more keen on playing an angry young man action hero and with this role of Police Inspector, this 6ft + tall smart and handsome actor has certainly been receiving not only good response from his admirers but is also likely to receive better offers from the TV and serial film makers . But, this present role of Police Inspector in ‘Jeevalaga’ will surely take him a long way to attain more and more success in his acting career.
“I am well aware of the power of television” – Amruta Khanvilkar
Last year she was in great form in Bollywood, having performed prominent roles in two films and one web series. And this year we find her making her acting debut in Marathi television serial through forthcoming much talked about Star Pravah’s serial ‘Jeevlaga’ Met Amruta Khanvilkar during the official announcement of this serial at a function in Mumbai. And among the four lead artistes, we found her very much excited that evening. She was the first one to jump with excitement when it Star Pravah’s Satish Rajwade made an announcement to get ready to watch the first look of this serial .
Amruta is playing the role of an ambitious woman Kavya opposite Swapnil Joshi who is playing the role of Vishwas, who is a writer. It may be recalled that Amruta who has completed 15 years of her acting career, seemed committed to her profession as far as her fitness is concerned. She looked as fresh as she was during her debut in films 15 years ago. Speaking about her entry into Marathi serial, she said , “I am well aware of the power of television. You become popular in every Marathi household. But, more than that I was highly impressed by the content of this serial and also liked my role.”
Finally, defining in a simple way the title ‘Jeevlaga’ she philosophically said, “Whom we see after closing our eyes, is Jeevalaga. Because of whom we exist is Jeevlaga.” We are all aware about her hard work and sincerity and therefore look forward to see the best from this talented actress through this serial which will go on air from 8th April 2019.
Star Pravah to offer a big surprise to home viewers in the form of ‘Jeevlaga’
Over the years Star Pravah Marathi TV channel has offered many successful serials which had become favourite of home viewers. Now, with Satish Rajwade joining Star Pravah as Content & Programming Head, we notice a change in the content from this month onward. There are some big forthcoming projects lined up for the telecast. But, the biggest surprise will be in the form of a new serial ‘Jeevlaga‘ starring Swwapnil Joshi, Amruta Khanvilkar, Siddharth Chandekar, and Madhura Deshpande. The serial will be aired from 8th April 2019 at 8.30 PM between Monday and Saturday.
An official announcement to this effect was made by Mr. Satish Rajwade himself during a media briefing on Tuesday evening. All the four artistes were personally present on this occasion and they were systematically introduced by Mr. Rajwade. The theme of ‘Jeevlaga‘ serial presented by Mr. Satish Rajwade is inspired by Dr. Chandrashekhar Phansalkar’s story. The highlight of this serial is the comeback of Swwapnil Joshi, Siddharth Chandekar and also Madhura Deshpande to the small screen. But, above all popular Marathi and Hindi film actress Amruta Khanvilkar will be making her acting debut on Marathi small screen.
On this occasion, the first look of this serial was presented which was appreciated by one and all, with ‘Once more’ demand. Answering some of the doubts raised by media persons, Mr. Satish Rajwade assured that there will not be any changes in the story of this serial, as the start and end of the story has already been decided and the artistes and the director Mr. Namjoshi have been clearly told about the same. All the four artistes who also spoke on this occasion were all praise for the script of this serial, which they felt was a different kind of love story. They avoided giving more details about their characters but assured that the story will be appreciated by one and all. The serial is produced by Mr. Vidyadhar Pathare.
‘Raja Shivchhatrapati’ to return on Star Pravah
Marathi serials made on the subject of history have always received good response. And, if it is based on Shiv Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, it has to be memorable one. Keeping this in mind, Star Pravah have decided to present their hit serial ‘Raja Shivchhatrapati‘ with repeat telecast from 6th February 2017 at prime time 9.30 pm onwards, on demand received from home viewers.
This serial has been a great creation by well Known art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai, who had himself produced it, with direction by Hemant Deodhar. The title song composed by well Known music director duo Ajay- Atul is still fresh in the memory of home viewers. And, above all the title role of Shivaji Maharaj played by Dr. Amol Kolhe, has also been well appreciated by all. Even the important characters of Jijau, Shahaji and Aurangzeb played by Mrunal Kulkarni, Avinash Narkar and Yatin Karyekar had left a strong impact on small screen viewers.
Star Pravah to present a romantic comedy ‘Aamhi Dogha Raja Rani’
Having presented new programmes in the form of game show ‘Vikta Ka Uttar‘ and new serials on different subjects like ‘Ga Sahajani‘ and ‘Nakushi‘, Star Pravah Channel is now all set to offer a romantic comedy ‘Aamhi Dogha Raja Rani‘ from 14th November 2016. This serial will be telecast at prime time 9.30 pm between Monday to Saturday.

‘Nakushi’ TV serial on Star Pravah goes musical
We often notice a good title song in every Marathi TV serial, which becomes the identity of that particular serial. Some TV serial makers have also included songs in their serial to make the screenplay more presentable and musical. But, have you heard of any TV serial , presenting a complete episode in musical form ?
In the ongoing TV serial ‘Nakushi‘, this experiment will be tried for the first time on Marathi television. This particular musical episode will be telecast on Star Pravah channel at 7 pm on 8th November 2016. The serial ‘Nakushi’ has already reached an important stage and according to the makers of this serial, through this song based episode they will present Nakushi’s journey of love and transformation within her (Prasiddhi Aayalwar). In short, the story of this serial will unfold further developments in Nakushi’s life.
Diwali celebrated on the sets of ‘Ga Sahajani’
Star Pravah‘s new serial ‘Ga Sahajani‘ is gaining popularity for presenting the story of six working women employed in ‘Manjulabai Usne Paratfed ( MUP ) Bank‘. As we notice in most of the serials, the celebration of Diwali coinciding with the festival of lights, maker of ‘Ga Sahajani‘ Mr. Purushottam Berde gave ample opportunity to all the six female lead characters of this serial.
In one of the episodes coinciding with Diwali, all these six characters Kamini, Meena, Damini, Sushmita, Bhima and Zubaida took part actively in the get together of their bank and enjoyed the day by winning several prizes. There was also a competition held between the team of these six females v/s their manager Dhabadgaonkar. So, be prepared to witness the beautiful decoration done by these female characters played by actresses Shravani Pillai( Meena), Niyati Rajwade( Damini), Namrata Awate( Zubeida), Pournima Ahire( Bhima), Surabhi Bhave( Sushmita) and Mousami Tondwalkar( Kamini) in forthcoming special Diwali episode.
Physiotherapist Rupal Nand turns actress
Till now, we have seen Engineers, Doctors, MBA’s , teachers & Singers turning towards acting profession. Now, a Physiotherapist from Pune, Rupal Nand is the new addition to this list. Rupal is playing the lead role of Radha in Star Pravah‘s new Marathi serial ‘Goth‘.
Rupal Nand who has studied from Fergusson College, Pune, was also actively taking part in Purushottam Trophy competition and has performed in various one act plays. When she completed her Physiotherapy , she could not resist the temptation of her passion for acting. And when she won the best personality prize at a beauty contest, the doors for acting career opened for her. For this contest, Satish Rajwade was the judge, who offered her role in his ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-2‘ film. There after, she also performed a role in the film ‘& Jara Hatke‘.
When this role of Radha was offered to us, she was highly impressed by this character and that’s how today she is turning into one of the popular TV stars. Rupal’s parents supported her to turn to acting field. But, Rupal’s wish is to open her own Physiotherapy centre in near future.

After having a successful stint in Bollywood , actor Riteish Deshmukh made his debut in Marathi films as a producer and actor two years ago. But now, Riteish is making his small screen debut on Star Pravah Marathi channel in the role of a show anchor through a reality Quiz show ‘Vikta Ka Uttar‘. On Monday afternoon Riteish met the media persons in a unique way.
Before addressing the press conference, he actually played a mock show for them, involving all of them in this show. He picked up three of them as players for questioning and the rest of them played the traders, in case the players needed their help. The trader selected for help by the player, had to bargain for a price to offer the correct answer. It was an entertaining show with a difference.
Speaking to the media after this mock show, Riteish Deshmukh admitted that he was more than happy to receive this offer. He also revealed that he had really worked hard to get the right Marathi accent, to present this programme in the capacity of an anchor. “I was completely sold to the concept of this show,” he said. “Till now, we have shot 25 episodes and it was a learning process for me, though script was provided by four talented writers“. Riteish was all praise for Hrishikesh Joshi, writer and actor, who was present on this occasion. “Besides using his writing skills, we also thought of involving him in this show and that’s how, you will find him entering towards the end of every episode in different get ups,” added Riteish.
All in all, this reality show sounds interesting, as participants from different segments in Maharashtra are part of this show, trying their luck to win cash prizes. The show is all set to go on air from 7th October 2016 on Star Pravah channel .
