‘Hirkani’ song presenting the grand Coronation of Shivaji Maharaj launched
There have been many songs in the past based on the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj , the biggest historical event. But, director Prasad Oak has given a grand look to this event on screen through his forthcoming much talked about Marathi film ‘Hirkani’. Recently, the song video of this film was launched in style in a ceremony held in Mumbai in presence of the team of this film.

This eight and a half minute length song has been pictured on nine Marathi artistes including popular names like Suhas Joshi, Pushkar Shrotri, Siddharth Chandekar, Jitendra Joshi, Hemant Dhome, Priyadarshan Jadhav, Kshiti Jog, Rajashri Thakur, Chinmay Mandlekar and Rahul Ranade, displays six different forms of folk arts. The film is produced by Falguni Patel , co produced by Lawrence D’souza with creative direction by Rajesh Mapuskar. After watching this grand song, one thing is certain that this film is an ambitious project of director Prasad Oak.
This song penned by Sandeep Khare on the music of Amitraj has been rendered in the voices of singers like Nilambari Kirkire, Vivek Naik, Amitraj, Deepali Desai, Jiya Suresh Wadkar & Gaurav Chati. Speaking about this song, director Praad Oak said that Coronation of Shiv Chhatrapati Maharaj is one of the most important events in the film and therefore he wanted to be pictured in a grand way.
Shruja Prabhudesai to portray an important character of Bayo in ‘Himalayachi Savali’
Every actress has a dream to play a role which should extract her acting potential to the maximum. For stage and television actress Shruja Prabhudesai this opportunity has walked in with the most important role of ‘Bayo’ in the revived 1972 popular play ‘Himalayachi Savali’. Along with her in the lead role is Sharad Ponkshe who will play the character of Nanasaheb.

The inaugural show of this revived Marathi play will be held on Sunday 29th September in Nashik. Incidentally, Nashik also happens to be the birthplace of the writer of this play Prof. Vasant kanetkar. Directed by Rajesh Deshpande the play also stars Jayant Ghate, Vighnesh Joshi, Kapil Redkar, Omkar Karve, Krushna Rajshekhar, Prakash Sable, Makarand Navghare, Vasantika Walke, Pankaj Khamkar.

Made under the banner of Supriya Productions, this play is produced by Prakash Desai Pratishthan & Avdoot Productions. Govind Chavan and Prakash Desai are presenting this play with music by Rahul Ranade. Art direction Sandesh Bendre, costumes-Mangal Kenkre, production designer- Subhash Redkar are the other credits of this play.
Speaking about her role in this play, Shruja says, “This is the most challenging role I am playing, which has different shades. I am learning a lot during rehearsals, as I am portraying a character which is more older than my age, keeping in mind the body language and expressions of that character. Being from Konkan belt, I was comfortable with the required accent from this character.”
Pritam Kagne to play a Marathon athlete in Subhash Ghai’s Marathi film
Pritam Kagne who made her acting debut through award winning Marathi film ‘Halaal’, later performed a variety of roles in films like ‘Ahilya’, ‘Monsoon Football’ , ‘Sangharshayatra’ , ’31 October’ and few others. Now the good news for her is that she has bagged a very important role in Showman Subhash Ghai’s forthcoming Marathi film ‘Vijeta’. And this seems to be a big achievement for the young actress.

Pritam has been selected to play a Marathon athlete and presently she is undergoing training for the same. She has herself revealed this big news on her social networking page and is excited about the same. Saleel Kulkarni announces his next film ‘Ekda Kay Jhal’
Music director turned writer – director Saleel Kulkarni after the success of ‘Wedding Cha Shinema’ has now announced his next film ‘Ekda Kay Jhal’. This clearly indicates that he has understood the pulse of Marathi film lovers and would like to offer them much more through his forthcoming film. Through this film, once again Salail Kulkarni will be shouldering the responsibility as a writer, director and music director. And he proposes to release this film next year during the summer season. Smita Tambe welcomes Goddess Gauri during Ganapati festival
The Ganapati festival is being celebrated all over Maharashtra with a lot of enthusiasm and spirit. At community festival, we are watching various programmes being held to unite people in the neighbourhood , while some people welcome Ganapati and Goddess Gauri in their houses to offer pooja. During this period, our Marathi stars take off from shootings to devote their time for this purpose and to be with their family members.

Actress Smita Tambe is no exception. Every year in her house she welcomes Goddess Gauri along with Ganapati and offer Pooja along with her family members. Now that she got married early this year, she decided to welcome Gauri- Ganapati in her husband’s house in Mumbai for the first time. Since her childhood she has been taking a lot of interest to arrange the decoration and also dress up Gauri Goddess . This year, she did it all alone and also purchased the dress material for the Gauri goddess at the shops located around Mahalaxmi temple Kolhapur.
Speaking about this wonderful experience, Smita Tambe says, “Every year I used to do all this while assisting my mother. But this year, I had the satisfaction of doing this all on my own.”

Directed by Milind Lele, who had earlier directed films like ‘Manya Sajjana’, ‘Kurukshetra’ and the Latest ‘Bandishala’ has directed this film. In this film Amitabh Bachchan will be appearing along with versatile Marathi actor Vikram Gokhale, who plays the lead role. The film also stars Subodh Bhave, Akshay Tanksale, Sayali Sanjeev, Sharvari Lohokare, Sagar Talashikar, Lokesh Vijay Gupte, Pushkar Shrotri, Sunil Godbole and Vipul Salunkhe.
Recently, the poster of this film was unveiled with the blessings of Lalbaugcha Raja Ganapati. Cinematography by Suresh Deshmane, editing Mayur Hardas, music by Ashish Mujumdar & Mayuresh Satish Pai are the other credits. Incidentally, Mr. Bachchan who has completed 50 years in acting profession and who has also produced a Marathi film ‘Vihir’ will be making his special appearance through this film.
Spruha Joshi prefers worshipping eco friendly tree Ganesha
Popular actress and Poet Spruha Joshi is known for her intense roles in films and TV serials. Her every action in day to day life indicates her commitment towards social cause. The Ganapati festival is celebrated in Spruha’s native place , where the idol of Ganapati is brought and worshipped by her close relatives. This year too, Spruha could not attend the festival at her native place. So, she decided to go eco friendly way. Spruha worshipped the eco friendly tree Ganesha, which was a good beginning to protect the mother nature. “This year I decided to bring Tree Ganesha and worshipped it. It contains a seed of a plant inside. Daily you have to water for 15 days, when a little plant grows from it. I liked this idea. Every good thing begins at home.” says Spruha Joshi.
Producer Sandip Takale turns director with ‘Jugaad’
Producers turning directors or vice versa is not new to this film industry. Sandeep Takale who recently released his film ‘Maaj’ as a producer, will now make his debut as a director through his forthcoming film ‘Jugaad’. Incidentally, his film ‘Maaj’ had successful run. Sandeep made announcement of this news on the occasion of his birthday held recently. Work on this new film will begin soon.

‘Jugaad’ is being produced by Anushka Imagine Films . Though the official announcement of this film has been made, the names of the artistes have not been disclosed yet. But, the shooting of this film will begin soon. The poster of this film has also been released on social media and from the poster gives some idea about the film’s subject, which is based on financial dealings and the hilarious after effects .

Prasad Oak who directed National award winning Marathi film ‘Kachha Limbu’ has teamed up with another National award winning director Rajesh Mapuskar for his forthcoming Marathi film ‘Hirkani’, which is to be directed by Prasad oak, while Rajesh Mapuskar will be creative director of this film. With a tagline ‘Pratyek Aai Astech …Hirakani’ this film is obviously based on the history about the brave adventure of a mother to meet her little son.

Till now, Marathi films based on history have always received very good response and therefore the story of this film is expected to invite the attention of Marathi film lovers. The film is due for release on 24th October all over Maharashtra and therefore Aakash Pendharkar, Sachin Narkar & Vikas Pawar of Swarup entertainment have shouldered the responsibility of marketing this film. Falguni Patel of Iraada Entertainment has produced this film while Lawrence D’souza is the co producer.
Till now, nothing has been disclosed about the artistes performing in this film. But, the poster of this film has certainly generated a lot of curiosity of this film.

Some films generate a lot of interest prior to their release, either by inviting attention of film lovers at international film festivals or by winning prestigious awards. And forthcoming Marathi film ‘Copy‘ is one of them. Produced by Ganesh Ramchandra Patil and directed by Dayasagar Wankhdede and Hemant Dhabde this film has tried to throw light on the education system and its functioning style. Incidentally, the film has already received appreciation at the Asian Film Festival, Los angeles Film Festival , Sanskruti Kaladarpan Film Festival & 55th Maharashtra State Awards.

‘Copy‘ will be released all over Maharashtra on 1st November 2019 . The film stars Milind Shinde, Anshuman Vichare and Jagannath Nivangune playing the roles of teachers teaching in village school . This school presents the plight of teachers teaching in village schools and also represents all such schools in rural areas scattered all over India. Along with these three lead artistes, the film also stars Kamlesh Sawant, Suresh Vishvakarma, Nita Donde, Anil Nagarkar, Rahul Belapurkar, Ashutosh Wadkar, Poonam Rane, Saurabh Sutar, Praveen kapade, Ravi Virkar, Shraddha Sawant & others .
Music of this film has been composed by Rohan-Rohan on the lyrics of Rahul Salve. Cinematography by Antonio Tezio and art direction by Sandeep Kuchikorve are the other credits of this film. We have watched few Marathi films in the past based on education system and therefore it remains to be seen how different will be the subject and presentation of this film.
