Javed Jaffrey sings Rap song for Marathi film ‘Youth’
Known for his perfect timing for comedy and his dancing skills, Javed Jaffrey has entertained Bollywood film lovers for past several years. Now, he has turned a Rap singer through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Youth‘. Javed has rendered a Marathi rap song in this film, which will be released all over Maharashtra on 20th May 2016. With the wordings ‘Band Kar Raag Dokyat Geli Aag..’ this meaningful song is targeted at young audience.
Javed agreed to sing this Rap song, as he felt that the young generation should be made aware of the much needed change in today’s political environment. The film ‘Youth‘ is by youngsters and for youngsters, with a timely subject and is directed by Rakesh Kudalkar, for Victory Films. The film stars young artistes like Neha Mahajan, Akshay Waghmare, Meera Joshi, Akshay Mhatre, Ketaki Kulkarni, Shashank Jadhav along with Vikram Gokhale & Satish Pulekar.
Neelima Lonari’s film ‘Bernie’ to release on 17th June
Having made films like ‘Chinu’ and ‘Saam Dam Dand Bhed’, film maker Neelima Lonari is all set to release her next Marathi film ‘Bernie‘ on 17th June, all over Maharashtra. Set on the backdrop of Goa, the film is inspired by the novel ‘Jogin’ written by Prof. Subhash Bhende . Bernie is the name of a beautiful young collegian played Tejaswini Lonari, who is the daughter of a retired army man owner of a big farmhouse and a Kind hearted Portuguese mother.
The story of this film revolves around Bernie, who at a particular situation, is required to leave her house, to fulfil the wish of her ailing father. It is her struggle in life to face the tough situation, is what the story of ‘Bernie’ is all about. Besides Tejaswini Lonari, the other important artists of this film are, Bhushan Patil, Girish Pardeshi, Rajan Tamhane, Savita Malpekar, Kiran Khoje, Sumukhi Pendse, Mousami Tondvalkar, Chaitrali Dongre, Radhika Deshpande and others. Cinematography by Sameer Athlye and music by Amitraj are other credits of the film.
‘Disco Sannya’ getting ready to release in June 2016
A forthcoming Marathi film titled ‘Disco Sannya’ from Vakav Films, is now ready for screening. According to the sources, the film is set to release during June 2016.
‘Disco Sanya’ is the first production by Vakav Films. The title of this film has already raised curiosity among Marathi film lovers, as the promotional song of the film has been rendered by eminent singer Avadhoot Gupte. Mr. Sachin Purohit and Mr. Abhijeet Kawthalkar have produced the film with Niyaj Mujawar as Director of the film. The lyrics by Niyaz Mujawar have been set to lilting tunes by Abhijit Kawthalkar and Sachin Purohit. Eminent singers Adarsh Shinde, Nandesh Umap, Rishabh Purohit and Shabab Sabari have rendered these songs.
The Story and Screenplay have been penned by Niyaz Mujawar, Sachin Purohit and Abhijit Kawthalkar with dialogues by Niyaz Mujawar. Sandeep Patil is DOP, Bhowmik Shah has choreographed the film and Siddhartha Tatuskar is the Art Director. Costumes have been designed by Ms. Purti Kulkarni and Make up by Mr. Santosh Gilbile.

‘Ekk Albela’ getting ready to release on 24th June 2016
We are all aware that ‘Ekk Albela’ is a biopic on popular actor of 50s Bhagwan dada alias Bhagwan Abaji Palav , whose film ‘Ek Albela’ became a super hit film. We have heard the stories of artistes in Bollywood meeting at foreign locations, even if they are not shooting for the same film. But, in Marathi film industry this happened perhaps for the first time. It so happened that Amruta Khanvilkar was shooting for her forthcoming Marathi film ‘One Way Ticket‘, which was being shot on a cruise at foreign locations like Italy, France and Spain. When the cruise reached Spain, Amruta was shooting a Barcelona. When the shooting was going on, she found a surprise visitor in the form of beautiful Sonalee Kulkarni Actually, Sonalee was on a personal visit there and when she heard about Amruta shooting there, she could not resist the temptation of meeting her and giving her a surprise.
When Sonalee joined Amruta and the team of ‘One way Ticket’, all of them had great time together having lots of fun. This is the first Marathi film shot on a cruise and that too in Europe. The film is produced by Makebrand’s Komal Unavane ,co produced by Krishnanu Moty and Suresh Pai and directed by Amol Shetge. Besides Amruta Khanvilkar in the lead, the film also stars Sachit Patil, Gashmeer Mahajani, Shashank Ketkar & Neha Mahajan in lead roles. The film is scheduled for release on 10th June 2016.
New Film ‘106 Hutatma Chowk’ announced
The formation of Maharashtra state has completed 46 years. On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, three days ago, a new historical Marathi film with the title ‘106 Hutatma Chawk – Samyukta Maharashtra Jhalach Pahije’ was launched .Vishal Inamdar will be directing this film, shooting of which begins soon. Popular Bollywood actor Jeetendra , who was the special guest on this occasion, made official announcement about launch of this film.
According to the makers, this film will be rich in all respects, be it story, screenplay music, costumes and direction. Big names will form star cast of this film. The story of this film is written by Kaustubh Savarkar and the film is being made under the banner of Shree Swami Samarth Pictures.The film will be ready for release by May 2017.
Fox Star Studios to distribute Marathi film ‘Half Ticket’
Marathi films have gone worldwide, because of their strong content and quality presentation style. No wonder, the industry is also getting noticed by international studios.Now, the big news is that Fox Star Studios India is making its debut in the Marathi Film industry.
Fox Star Studios, India are all set to distribute forthcoming Marathi film ‘Half Ticket‘, which is directed by Samit Kakkad and produced by Nanubhai Jaisinghani. The third poster of of this film was released recently, which depicts the iconic Mumbai double decker buses.
Produced by Video Palace, the film presents the story of two children living in the slums of Mumbai. ‘Half Ticket‘ film has been shot on the streets of Mumbai to show the realistic lifestyle of such people.

‘Lalbaugchi Rani’ promises a new way to live life
Well Known Cinematographer of Hindi films, Laxman Utekar, who made his debut in direction through Marathi film ‘Tapal’, is now all set to release his next Marathi film ‘Lalbaugchi Rani’ soon. Actress Veena Jamkar who played lead role in ‘Tapal’, is playing the central character in the film ‘Lalbaugchi Rani’. The film, promises a new way to live life. ‘Truckbhar Swapna’ will be Nitin Desai’s new Marathi film

The film stars Makarand Deshpande in the lead role, in the company of Kranti Redkar, Aditi Pohankar, Mukesh Rishi, Yatin Karyekar, Smita Tambe and Suresh Bhagwat.
