‘Jai Shankar’ -the first 3D Marathi film

Maharashtra is known for the tradition of saints like Saibaba of Shirdi, Gajanan Maharaj, Sant Tukdoji Maharaj and Ghadge Maharaj. All of them tried to bring in the desired change in the society. There is one more name in this category and that is of Shankar Maharaj.
Based on his life and work, will be a new Marathi film ‘Jai Shankar’. The shooting of this film has just completed and it will be the first 3D film in Marathi. The film stars Sharad Ponkshe in the title role of Sahnkar Maharaj. The film is the creation of director Shekhar Naik, who has himself written the screenplay of this film. While Anand Modak has composed the music of the film, Dinesh Kandarkar has handled the camerawork for the 3D effect. The film is due for release during early 2012.
‘Mukti’ to throw light on social issue

Writer-director Machhindra More has given a serious look at the most burning issue in our state and that is suicides by farmers. In his new film ‘Mukti’ he takes up this issue which has been taken previously by dozens of filmmakers. But, what’s so different that he has to convey through this film? If you ask him , he suggests you to see his film first.
Made under the banner of Placid Films and produced by Sachin Jankar, the film stars. Nandu Madhav (Harishchandrachi Factory fame), Tejaswini Pandit, Nagesh Bhosale, Milind Shinde, Satish Salagare, Ajay Jadhav amongst others. According to the makers, the film will just make one think before giving away their life. The scenario that when a farmer dies his family gets a compensation from the government has become so common that many farmers commit suicide just for the sake of compensation, which their family would receive to help them survive the after their death. The farmer does not does understand the struggle that his family would have to face after his death.
The movie has tried to show the struggle that Baija (Tejaswini Pandit) and her kids Raghu (Gaurav Kamble) and Ratna (Charvi Sangkholkar) face and what fate delivers them after Bhanudas (Nandu Madhav) the frustrated farmer with heavy debts commits suicide. The movie has been shot in Hinge a village in the district of Satara by Raaja Phadtare behind his camera. “Even if one farmer thinks before ending his life after seeing the movie, we have done our bit” says the serious looking Producer.
Zee Marathi’s next ‘Eka Lagnachi Dusari Goshta’

Zee Marathi’s next presentation ‘Eka Lagnachi Dusari Goshta’ will be a light hearted romantic story depicting the pulse of today’s new generation, their thoughts on marriage, aspirations and priorities. According to the makers, it is the story of a young boy and a girl of today, having their own aspirations and expectations from life; brought together in an unconventional situation. A relation that begins on conditions and agreements, gradually blossoms into a sweet friendship that both are unaware of.
‘Eka Lagnachi Dusari Goshta’ is produced by Indian Magic Eye, Directed by Satish Rajwade and written by Chinmay Mandalekar. Starring Swapnil Joshi, Mukta Barve, Asavari Joshi, Mohan Joshi, Vijay Kenkare, Anand Abhyankar, and other talented and reputed cast. ‘Eka Lagnachi Dusari Goshta’ will start from 16th Jan @10.30pm on Zee Marathi.
Zee Talkies’ ‘Zhakaas’ will be New year attraction

Zee Talkies to pay tributes to Lakshyaa Berde

Lakshmikant Berde, a versatile Marathi actor popularly known as ‘Lakshyaa’ is no more. But, through his films he reminds us his adaptability in acting. Zee Talkies, the only Marathi movie channel will pay sincere tributes to this legendary actor in the form of a film fest titled “Lakshmikant Berde film festival” from 13th December to 17th December @ 3.00 pm.

“I have high hopes from ‘Aamhi Chamakte Taare” – Shreerang Aras

Music director Shreerang Aras is all excited about his new film ‘Aamhi Chamakte Taare’, shooting of which is in full swing. While speaking to Marathi Movie World recently, Shreerang Aras, renowned music director said that he had high hopes from this film, as it has given good scope for music. “We have five songs with variety in this film and all the songs are situation based. It was a fun picturising the song already recorded during muhurat of this film on Bharat Jadhav 40 children at a school in Mahim. ‘Kara Full 2 Dhamaal’ was the song rendered by Anand Shinde and chores. There are four more songs, including a fun song and a prayer, which gives a lot of satisfaction to a music director like me,for offering variety,” he said.
‘Aamhi Chamakte Taare’ produced by Deepak S Choudhary and directed by Prakash jadhav, has ample scope for music and that makes Shreerang Aras, the music director of this film happy . Based on the lyrics of Sagar Pawar and Pramod Bejkar, all leading singers like Avadhoot Gupte, Vaishali samant, Swapnil Bandodkar, Anand Shinde, Bela Shende, Sanjivani Bhelande & Sadhana Sargam of Marathi Music industry have rendered their voices for songs in this film. The film stars Bharayt Jadhav, Nisha Parulekar and child artiste Indrajeet and will be released in February 2012.

Girish- Amruta to offer ‘Masala’

Popular duo Girish Kulkarni and Umesh Kulkarni who produced three sensible films like ‘Valu’, ‘Vihir’ and ‘Deool’ are together again with their new film ‘Masala’ to be directed by Sandesh Kulkarni. Having good experience of theatre and serials, this will be a debut film for Sandesh as a director.
The film has versatile actors like Girish Kulkarni and Amruta Subhash in the lead along with Dilip Prabhavalkar, Dr. Mohan Agashe, Neha Shitole, Shashank Shende and others. Inspired by the life of Masala Maunufacturers -Hukmichand Choradia and Ms. Kamlabai Choradia of ‘Praveen Masale’ the film is a tribute to them on the occasion of their 50 Golden Jubilee year. The film’s story has tried to relate the life of an individual like a Masala flavour to bring in the happiness in the life of a couple. It is a fiction to offer entertainment.

Anolkhi Disha-A thriller series on Star Pravah

STAR Pravah, Maharashtra’s favourite entertainment channel now brings to you ‘Anolkhi Disha’, a thriller series of fascinating stories by noted writer Narayan Dharap. ‘Anolkhi Disha’ marks the directorial debut of Mahesh Kothare on Television, as he narrates some of the most unimaginable tales. Three Marathi films to release on 9th December

Three Marathi films are all set to release together on 9th December. While ‘Pratibimb’ directed by Dr. Girish Mohite is a so called Fear and Mystery Thriller, ‘Dambis’ is a sort of touching story, directed by Makrand Anaspure and ‘Parambi’ directed by Satish Salagare is based on this backdrop of today’s youth in search for stability and happiness
Produced by Prashant Hire, the star-cast of ‘Pratibimb’ includes a team of renowned artistes like Ankush Chaudhari, Sonali Kulkarni, Ravindra Mankani, Ganesh Yadav, Santosh Juvekar, Lokesh Gupte along with other capable actors and actresses like Sushant Shelar, Shama Ninave, Ujjwala Jog, Bharat Ganeshpure, Pradeep Navale, and Ankita Sakre.
The story, screenplay and dialogues of this film that add to the puzzling atmosphere have been written by Aniruddha Potdar and Abhay Dakhane whereas the cinematography has been handled by Santosh Shinde that aptly captures the art direction of Sonia Parchure. Make-ups are borne by Amod Doshi and Special Effects have been taken care of by Jayant Hadke with the thrilling background music composed by Avinash-Vishwajeet.

The star-cast includes Makrand Anaspure, Lokesh Gupte, Dr. Pradnya Shastri, child artiste Subhankar Atre, along with Vinod Khedekar and Dr. Sudhir Nikam. Famous writer Dr. Anil Avachat shall be appearing in a role of guest-artiste.
And finally, ‘Parambi’ is the film aimed at offering entertainment with a timely message. Starring Bhushan Pradhan, Sai Lokur, Uday Tikekar, Suhas palshikar, Nandesh Umap, Usha Naik, Jayant Savarkar, Dr. Shreeram Patki, Bhooshan Ghadi, Kamalesh Sawant and others.
Now, it all remains to be seen how these three films succeed in getting their share of audience to the theatres.
