Mrinal Kulkarni joins Founders’ Board of Planet Marathi
Popular Marathi television and film actress Mrinal Kulkarni has joined the Founders Board of Planet Marathi OTT and A Vistas Media Capital Company recently. Mrinal having experience of her long career in acting and now as a director screenplay writer, will be of great help to Planet Marathi, to take Marathi films at the top level, with her active presence with them.
Speaking about her new association with Planet Marathi, Mrinal says, “This is a very happy moment for me . But, at the same time there will be a lot of responsibility. Today, the Web world is looking forward to place before the audience their best content fearlessly. Planet Marathi has already made a good beginning and therefore I have totake their Marathi flag higher across the globe by contributing from my side.” At the same time Mr. Akshay Bardapurkar has also .welcomed the entry of Mrinal Kulkarni. She will begin her work with Planet Marathi from this month of June 2022.
‘Har Har Mahadev’ to be released in 5 languages on Diwali 2022
The much awaited Marathi film ‘Har Har Mahadev (हर हर महादेव)’ has been receiving all the attention, ever since the teaser of this film was released in the voice of MNS Chief Mr. Raj Thackeray. This film which is presented by Zee Studios and Shree Ganesh Marketing & Films will be released on 23rd October 2022 and besides Marathi, it will be released simultaneously in four other languages Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada in a dubbed version. And this will be a good move by the makers of this film to reach out to maximum people.
Speaking about this film Zee Studios Business Head Mr. Mangesh Kulkarni said, “ The work done by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is so great that it cannot be limited to only to Maharashtra. It should be known to people all over the world, who are keen to study the history of this great Warrior from Maharashtra. This film is written and directed by Abhijeet Deshpande. Another highlight of this film is that the about VFX experts who have worked for Hollywood films, have been engaged for the special effects of this film.
Children from Snehalaya offer a unique gift to Mukta Barve
Actress Mukta Barve who has received good wishes from many prominent personalities for her forthcoming Marathi film ‘Y’ has now received a unique gift from ‘Snehalaya’ a children’s home along with similar other children’s home like ‘Snehankur’ and ‘Yuvan’. Mukta had visited these places recently and spent some quality time with these children and shared some of her experiences with them.
These children too reciprocated, by forming the alphabet ‘Y’ by their group formation to offer this unique gift to her. Overwhelmed by this response, Mukta said that this was a memorable moment in her life , which was very encouraging. “Their best wishes are very special for me,” she added. Directed by Ajit Wadikar, this film will be released on 24th June 2022.

Hruta Durgule in Zee Studios film ‘Timepass 3′
Presented by Zee Studios presentation and Ravi Jadhav directed ‘Timepass 3 (टाइमपास 3)’ teaser was released recently. It may be recalled that ‘Timepass’ and ‘Timepass 2′ had become hit films and therefore all eyes on ‘Timepass 3′. In part 3 there is a twist, according to the makers. The centre of attraction of this Part 3 teaser is the character of Palavi Dinkar Patil played by Hruta Durgule.
So, there is a curiosity among the Marathi film lovers, whether the character of Praju will be seen in this film or not ? However, the characters of Madhav Lele (Vaibhav Mangle) and Dagadu(Prathamesh Parabh) are noticed in the teaser. One doubt is made clear by the makers is that the story is not post marriage of Dagadu but during his teenage. One thing is sure that the film lovers may not have to wait for long, as the film will be released on 29th July 2022.
Marathi short film ‘Arjun’ wins first prize
In order to offer opportunities to new film makers, Planet Marathi had organized ‘Planet Marathi Short Film Festival’ ( PMSFF) recently. This festival had received a very good response with 1600 entries. Out of which five short films were selected for awards. The judges of this competition were Sanjay Jadhav, Mrunal Kulkarni, Kiran Yadnyopavit, Nikhil Mahajan and Sarvesh Parab.
Madhuban Film’s ‘Arjun’ bagged the first prize comprising of Rs. 5 lakhs. The second prize of Rs. 3 lakhs was awarded to ‘Arjun’s story’ made by Rakhadi Sudios, while the third prize of Rs. 2 lakhs went to Rakhadi Studios ‘Avanti’. The consolation prizes of Rs. 50,000/- were awarded to Rakhadi Studios’ ‘Abhi- Anu’ and Rs. 30,000/- ‘ Amar Gore and Akbar Sayyad’s short film ‘Aatman’.
Planet Marathi founder Mr. Akshay Bardapurkar expressed his happiness for the overwhelming response received from new film makers for this short film festival, which was organized by them for the first time. “All the films were well presented with variety of subjects and had very good artistes. So, it was a difficult task for the judges to shortlist five films . But, they did their job very well,” he said.
‘Bhirkit’ to strike with cyclone of Comedy on 17th June

Presented by Classic Enterprise, produced by Suresh Oswal & Bhagyavanti Oswal and directed by Anup Jagdale, ‘Bhirkit’ is a story happening in a village and revolves around family relationship, politics, love story and humour arising out of it. Songs of this film have already popularized and now with the release of film’s trailer, this film has raised big expectations.

‘Anya’ movie trailer launched; to be released on 10th June
Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Anya’, which is also to be made in Hindi, has raised the curiosity of film lovers. Moreover, the trailer of this film has also been released has been well received, with the announcement of release date of this film as 10th June 2022. Produced by Shelna K. And Simmy co-produced ‘Anya’ with Capitalwoods under the banner of Initiative Films. This film won two awards, Best Film at the Alvsbyn Film Festival in Sweden, Best First Time Director, and Best Picture at the Falcon International Film Festival (May Edition) in London.
Directed by by Simmy Joseph, a renowned director of South Film Industry; this film has received well appreciated reviews at the Global Indian International Film Festival as well as at the Toronto Independent Festival. At first sight, after watching the trailer, one realizes that this film is telling the story of a good ‘Anya’. It is seen in the trailer that it touches on the important issues of today such as espionage, truthfulness, sex trafficking, child labour, orphanage, farmer suicides, etc. According to the makers, the film is based on true events and sheds light on human trafficking. An attempt has been made to present the bitter reality and frightening truth of the society on the basis of a documentary.
Director Simmy Joseph has also written this film and the dialogues are penned by Mahendra Patil. Atul Kulkarni, Raima Sen, Yashpal Sharma, Govind Namdev, Prathamesh Parab, Tejashree Pradhan, Bhushan Pradhan, Krutika Deo, Sunil Tawde will be seen in important roles in this film. Film on Savarkar ‘Kaaljayee Savarkar’
Vivek Samuh which made an excellent documentary ‘Durdamya Lokmanya (दुर्दम्य लोकमान्य)’ unfolding the life of great freedom fighter of India Lokmany Tilak, are now making a short film on the life of another great fighter from Maharashtra Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Poster of this short film suitably titled ‘Kaljayee Savarkar (कालजयी सावरकर )’ was released recently. Incidentally, the special screening of their first film ‘Durdamya Lokmanya’ has been arranged on 31st May 2022 at Film’s Division, at Pedder Road .
Renowned personality from Advertising world Gopi Kukde has taken the responsibility of directing this film on ‘Veer Savarkar’. Actress and writer Sameera Gujar has written the script of this film along with Amogh Ponkshe with research work by Akshay Jog. There is no disclosure about the artistes who will be performing in this film, but there is a curiosity to know as to who will play the role of Veer Savarkar ?
‘Bunny’ takes the first step at Cannes Platform
There are various ways tried by our film makers to reach out to their audience, whether it is in our country or worldwide, to popularise their film.Producer Shanker Dhuri and director Nilesh Upadhye used their own ideas to promote their Marathi film ‘Bunny’ at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival. They used this platform very well at the India Pavilion.
When the poster and first look of this film was released, they saw a very good response from the visitors, who clicked their photos and selfies in front of their film’s poster at the India Pavilion. Overwhelmed by this response, director Nilesh Upadhye who was present there, expressed his happiness and hoped that his film received more response from the audience, when their film is released in theatres. One thing is sure that their campaign at Cannes has worked very well.
