After ‘Maskaa’ writer director Priyadarshan Jadhav gets one more chance to prove his creativity as a film maker and this time has succeeded in not only engaging the audience from start to finish, but also offering them entertainment with a difference. So, if you keep aside logical thinking and avoid raising questions in your mind for the director, this is really an enjoyable film especially for adults but certainly not for kids. No wonder it has received U/A certification.
The entire plot of this film is about a happening taking place in one night. So, one can imagine how difficult it is to keep the audience engaged through all the interesting sequences following one after the other, generating lots of humour. Writer-director Priyadarshan Jadhav has presented the film very skilfully with the sole purpose of entertainment.
The film begins with a rich Politician Amarjit Patil (Hemant Dhome) being entertained at a private party , by a Dancer cum Singer Shraddha(Amruta Khanvilkar) trying to please him with her special item number, so that he sponsors her next album. After the party, Amarjit has his plan. He informs his bodyguards to tell his wife that he had to proceed to Delhi for an urgent work and decides to spend the night with Shraddha at his farmhouse. At the same time A professional thief Nandan (Jitendra Joshi), who comes to know about Amarjeet’s Delhi visit, keeps his wife ( Kirti Pendharkar) informed about his target place that night and proceeds to Amarjit’s farm house. But, when he picks up the required amount from his safe, Amarjeit arrives with Shraddha at the farm house. Chandan gets trapped and is unable to move out of the house.
Finally, when he gets caught, he admits his crime but knowing about the unlawful relationship between Amarjit and Shraddha ( who is also married) he tries to blackmail both of them. How the things change with the arrival of few others to the bungalow and how Amarjit convinces Chandan to pose as Shraddha’s Punjabi husband, is what the second part of the film is all about. This hilarious plot of the film is well suited for a stage play, but director Priyadarshan Jadhav with the help of Harish Kaspate has cleverly penned the screenplay and dialogues by taking some cinematic liberties to present this entertaining package. They have received good support from Nilesh Gawand in editing , Sahbbir Naik in cinematography, Chinar Mahesh in music and Aditya Bedekar to provide the most important background music in this package.
The climax of the film is very well planned to conclude this film with one more hidden secret. Last but not the least , without the wonderful performances of all the artistes, it would not have been possible for the director to present this humor filled film. Jitendra Joshi stands tall among them with his brilliant performance. He has plenty of scope to offer variety through his role. Hemant Dhome is at his best and he finds good support from Khshiti Jog who has played his wife, Amruta who has played the role of glamorous Shraddha , Kirti Mehendale who plays Chandan’s wife, Aniket Vishwasrao, who plays Police Inspector and Ramesh Wani who plays Police Hawaldar.
