Devendra Fadnavis greets Planet Marathi on their 2nd Anniversary
Two years ago Akshay Bardapurkar launched Planet Marathi OTT platform which turned out to be the first International OTT platform in Marathi language. During the past two years Planet Marathi have offered variety of films, web series, shows and events in Marathi to entertain Marathi audience. Their presentation ‘Tamasha Live’ was the most popular film on OTT platform well accepted by viewers.
On this happy occasion Maharashtra State Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Devendra Fadnavis has sent his good wishes to Planet Marathi team. Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Fadnavis said, “ I am happy that Planet Marathi, which is the first Marathi OTT platform in the world has completed 2 sucessful years of operation. I therefore convey my good wishes to Planet Marathi team and viewers of Planet Marathi. Soon they will be launching Planet Bharat OTT platform and therefore my good wishes for their new platform too.”
Amruta Khanvilkar conferred with Majha Sanmaan award
Having displayed her talent through variety of characters played by her in Hindi films like ‘Raazi‘, ‘Satyamev Jayate‘ and web series ‘Damaged‘, Marathi actress Amruta Khanvilkar has been in news for the past few months. And all these three projects received very good response from the film lovers. It seems that this year 2018 has been lucky for Amruta, as she has just added one more feather in her hat.
Amruta has been conferred with ABP Majha’s ‘Majha Sanmaan‘ award, being a Maharashtrian and in appreciation of her progress into Hindi film industry. Amruta received this award in presence of two prominent politicians from Maharashtra , namely Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray. And this certainly a big honour for her. With this latest award, there will be a lot of curiosity among her fans and well wishers, about her forthcoming films and assignments.
Pratap Sarnaik makes it big with Grand music launch of ‘Kanha’
In Maharashtra’s Politics Pratap Sarnaik is a known name, being the most popular MLA from Thane. But, on Thursday late evening, it was a big day for him, as many celebrities and his friends in Political field had turned up in large number at Mumbai’s Trident Hotel, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, joining the event of grand music release of Pratap Sarnaik’s own production ‘Kanha’. This Marathi film is set on the backdrop of Mahararshtra’s biggest festival Gokulashtami. And, the film is all set to release on 26th August 2016, coinciding with the festival.
Besides getting the music CD released at the hands of chief minister, Mr. Pratap Sarnaik also took the opportunity to announce his Vihang Construction Group’s association with Godrej Properties, at Thane, in presence of Mr. Adi Godrej, who was personally present at this function. Many dignitaries from political circle like Mr. Praful Patel, Mr. Amar Singh, Mr. Eknath Shinde, Mr. Ramdas Kadam and others along with some IAS & IPS officers of Maharashtra were also present. Among the other dignitaries present were Niranjan Hiranandani, Dilip Vengsarkar, film maker Subhash Ghai, actors Jitendra, Sanjay Khan, Akbar Khan, Javed Jaffrey, Mrunal Kulkarni, Nishikant Kamat, Pallavi Joshi, Pooja Sawant apart from lead artistes of the film Vaibhav Tatwawdi, Gashmeer Mahajani, Gauri Nalavade, Kiran Karmarkar and director Avadhoot Gupte.
Interestingly, they were all invited on the dais, during the music release of the film, at the hands of CM and his wife. ‘Chala Hava Yeu Dya‘ fame Dr. Nilesh Sable and Bhau Kadam entertained the audience with their gimmicks, while Samira Gujar anchored the event, which turned out to be a memorable event. Produced by Pratap Sarnaik, co produced by Joe Rajan, the film ‘Kanha‘ is presented by Zee Studios. Music is by Avadhoot Gupte, while the DOP is Rahul Jadhav.
Dinanath Mangeshkar award for Dilip Prabhavalkar
Veteran actor Dilip Prabhavalkar will receive this year’s Dinanath Mangeshkar award for his contribution to Theatre and Cinema. The awards in other categories are as follows – Pt. Suresh Talwalkar (for contributing to Indian music), Bhalchandra Nemade (for literature), Kumar Ketkar ( for Journalism), Anil Kapur ( for Hindi Cinema), Asha Kamat & Aparna Abhyankar( for Social work) will also be honored for this year. Since last 26 years these awards are being presented, in the memory of Lata Mangeshkar’s father, singer-actor Dinanath Mangeshkar. They have been instituted by Mangeshkar family
The actual award presentation ceremony will be held at a special function, to be held on 24th April 2012. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Cultural Minister Vinod Tawde will be the chief guests on this occasion.
