Dhairyasheel finds a role in Ajay Devgan film
Actor Dhairyasheel who played a villain in Sanjay Jadhav‘s Marathi film ‘Luckee’ is lucky to find a role of mavla in Tanaji’s army in Ajay Devgan’s forthcoming Bollywood film ‘Tanaji’. Dhairyasheel has already performed in TV serials like ‘Goshta Eka Japtichi’ and ‘Ekach Hya Janmi Janu’ had also performed in Avadhoot Gupte’s film ‘Ek Tara’. But, finding a role in Ajay Devgan’s ‘Tanaji’, Dhairyasheel considers a big opportunity.
Speaking about his latest achievement, Dhairyasheel says, “For any actor, it is a dream to work with Bollywood superstar. After entering this acting field, I started getting roles in Marathi dramas, TV serials, short films and commercial films. And there was somewhere in my mind that one day I should work with big Bollywood stars. Today, this wish has been fulfilled.”
Madhav Deochakke appointed captain of Big Boss-2
Renowned TV star Madhav Deochakke who has shown his acting skills with variety of roles on television is now seen in the reality Marathi show Big Boss-2. Another big news for him is that he has been appointed as captain of Big Boss House this week, based on his performance in different tasks .
The family members of Big Boss house had shortlisted Madhav Devchakke and Veena Jagtap for captaincy , when both were asked to undergo the test of standing longer time standing next to the pole at Swimming pool . And this competition was won by Madhav, which made his way clear for captaincy.
According to those close to Madhav, his appointment as captain will help establish a cordial atmosphere in Big Boss house, which witnessed tension filled atmosphere last week. They feel that Madhav is a balanced and sensible person to lead the team. Incidentally, even Mahesh Manjrekar had praised his cool nature.
‘Takatak’ crosses Rs. 3 Cr. collections in 3 days
Now days, Marathi films are known for setting new trends . Till now, we had seen films with pure comedy, biopics & true stories receiving good response from the audience. As per the source, writer- director Milind Zumbar Kavde‘s latest film ‘Takatak’ also setting a new record by crossing Rs. 3 Crore collection in first three days . The so called first ever sex comedy in Marathi seems to have received a good response in Maharashtra from the audience including youngsters.
According to the makers, the highlight of this film is its content which has a lot of mischief and fun, well suited to the youth. Also the chemistry between the lead pair of Prathamesh Parab and Ritika Shrotri has been liked by the audience.The new pair of Abhijeet Aamkar and Pranali Bhalerao has also impressed the with their performances. Supporting actors like Bharat Ganeshpure, Pradeep Patwardhan and Ananda Karekar have also rendered good performances in the film which has helped this film to attain new heights.
Sameer Dixit and Hrishikesh Bhirangi of Pickle Entertainment and Purple Bull Entertainment who handled the task of distribution of the film, successfully managed to get over 450 screens with over 6000 shows. Distributor Sameer Dixit says, “Like in Hindi Cinema where different territories are sold, for the first time in Marathi Cinema, the territory of Nizam (Marathawada) has been sold for ‘Takatak’ even before the release of the film.”
Poorvi Bhave offers ‘Bhaj Ganapati Song’ in her Antarnaad series
Dancer turned actress Poorvi Bhave is known for her creative dancing skills, ever since she learned Bharat Natyam since her child hood days. Recently, Poorvi launched her new album in Antarnaad series, which contains ‘Bhaj Ganapati’ song in Bharat Natyam style. The song has been composed by Poorvi’s mother and renowned classical singer Varsha Bhave. Poorvi always felt that her new series should begin with a Ganapati song on Bharat Natyam style. She has assured that the next songs in this series will also offer variety.
‘Bhaj Ganapati’ song has been picturised at Gundeshwar temple in Sinnar. Speaking about her experience during picturisation of this song, Poorvi Bhave says, “ This song was shot during the month of May, when the temperature was maximum. The flooring around the temple area used to become so hot that it was not possible to walk barefoot on it. Moreover , the flooring was also uneven and we had limited time allowed for this shoot. So, dancing on this floor was more challenging, but I had to accept this challenge. Most of the shots were taken in one take. But, the result has been more than satisfying, with good response received on youtube.”

During the earlier days of stage plays and feature films, male artistes used to perform female characters, as there were very less females coming forward in the acting profession. But now, time has changed. Female actresses have taken the challenge to perform male characters. This happened on the sets of director Naresh Bidkar‘s forthcoming Marathi film ‘Once More’. Actually, they were looking for a female to perform the character of a male and unanimously everybody on the sets decided only on one name, which was Rohini Hattangadi.
In this film Rohini Hattangadi plays the role of grandfather , the photograph of this character is seen in this picture. It wasn’t an easy task to perform this character. So, you can imagine how much of hard work must have been there to play this role. When director Bidkar was looking for an artiste to play the double role of male and female simultaneously, he approached Rohini Hattangadi and she accepted this offer, as she found it challenging. Bollywood make up artistes Ramesh and Kamalesh have done prosthetic make up for Rohiniji and this process used to take five hours before the shoot and removal of make up 2 hours after the shoot. So, get ready to watch Rohini Hattangadi in this unusual role on 1st August 2019, when the film will be released all over Maharashtra.
Actress Smita Tambe turns glamorous for photo shoot
Popular Marathi film actress Smita Tambe , known for her award winning performances and roles in off beat Marathi films, for the first time took part in a glamorous photo shoot and this turned out to be a big news. Speaking on this occasion, Smita said, “For the past 10-15 years I haven’t taken part in such kind of photo shoot. Whatever photo shoots I have done so far, were related to my roles for posters of my films released so far. Therefore, my glamorous photos had never appeared before by fans.”
Incidentally, this year 2019 there are many new happenings in her personal and professional life. When asked about this, she said, “Yes, at the beginning of this year, I got married and thereafter I saw many new happenings in my life. I made a comeback on Marathi stage through professional play ‘Idiots.’ Then, turned a producer through a film ‘Sawat’ followed by my entry into digital world. Now, my three web series are due for release one after the other. There are new projects in Marathi and Bollywood, announcement of which will be made soon.”

After directing films like ‘Mangalashtaka Once More’, ‘Mamachya Gavala Jaoo Ya’ and multi starrer ‘Bus stop’ writer- director Sameer Joshi is back with his latest presentation ‘Miss You Mister’. Starring Siddharth Chandekar and Mrunmayee Deshpande in the lead characters of Varun and Kaveri a newly married couple , who are working hard in their respective jobs, to purchase the office premises of their own to make Varun’s father (Rajan Bhise) happy, as he has lost everything in his business, due to heavy non repayment of loans.
To earn more money, Varun signs an 18 month contract with a UK company and proceeds to London. Both Varun and Kaveri find it very difficult to stay separately and are constantly involved in skype calls and whats app messages and videos. However, the latest technology is not enough to keep them strongly bonded. Some happenings create misunderstandings between them. But, their love brings back Varun on a short vacation mid way of his contract. Even after coming back, Varun has his own commitments to his parents and friends, which makes kaveri more desperate and she decides to move to her parents place. Her only connect is her cousin Rucha( Deepti Lele) , who has also gone through a break up, as her would be prefers to shift to Delhi. The series of interesting happenings which follow, finally bring them together.
Script writer and director Sameer Hemant Joshi has tried to present a light entertainer which is filled with emotions. Through this film, he talks about the importance of proper communication and trust between a newly married couple . But, at the same time he has tried to show that just expressing love for each other and constantly chatting over phone or video calls is not enough to understand each other well. In short, he has focused more on how the long distance relationship takes a toll on the newly weds. The happenings in their respective offices and Kaveri’s interactions with Varun’s parents, with her own parents and also with Rucha are picturised very well in a humorous way At the same Varun & Kaveri’s encounter with a family friend cum counsellor ( Hrishikesh Joshi) has something worth to convey to young couples. . The director has conveniently avoided melodrama in the screenplay and has paid more attention on humour arising out of many important situations.
Through their respective roles, Siddharth and Mrunmayee have done full justice to their characters . Mrunmayee certainly finds better scope but both of them together have given realistic look to almost all the scenes including those intimate scenes filmed on them. Good support comes from Rajan Bhise, Savita Prabhune, Avinash Narkar, Radhika Vidyasagar, Hrishikesh Joshi and Deepti Lele through their respective supporting roles. Kedar Gaekwad’s cinematography & Sayali Soman’s costumes makes this film more presentable. There isn’t any scope for music, as the director pays more attention on his interesting screenplay. But, the apt back- ground music and effective sound designing does invite the attention of the audience.
All in all ‘Miss U Mister’ is a worth watch film especially for young couples and their parents.
“Acting is the art of creating an illusion” – Vikram Gokhale
As part of their Acting Workshop, Vikram Gokhale Acting Academy had recently organised a discussion cum debate at the Shree Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch Pune, where dignitaries like Vikram Gokhale, Varsha Usgaonkar, Girish Pardeshi, Meghrajraje Bhosale and Rajaram Kore of Zoom Films were present. The programme began with lighting of the lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vikram Gokhale said, “Acting is the art of creating an illusion. Acting Performance of the actor should be such that it should look very realistic. While performing in plays like ‘Nakalat Saare Ghadale’ and ‘Barister’, it was a big challenge for me. Whether it is a play or a film, total involvement into the character is very important.” Then giving some tips to newcomers, he added, “While entering this filed, it is very necessary to possess self confidence. At the same time one should have ability to observe & learn small things in this process.”
Varsha Usgaonkar and Girish Pardeshi also offered guidance to the participants, through their respective speeches. The programme received a very good response from newcomers coming from Pune and surrounding areas. Milind Shintre anchored the programme.
“It has always been my pleasure to sing Marathi song” – Javed Ali
Renowned singer Javed Ali is not new to Marathi songs. Whenever there were offers made to him to sing for Marathi cinema, he has never said no. Javed Ali has rendered two songs in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Whatsapp Love’ , music of which was released recently, at his hands, in the capacity of chief guest. Speaking on this occasion, Javed Ali said, “ I live in Maharashtra and Mumbai is my ‘karmabhoomi’. Though I come from Delhi, many other artistes like me attained success in Maharashtra. I grew up listening to the Hindi and Marathi songs of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosale. My favourite Marathi songs are ‘Dayaghana…’ and ‘Mendichya panavar..’ Therefore, whenever I am called to sing a Marathi song, I feel very happy. Music of ‘Whats app Love’ is very appealing and therefore this film will surely be a musical hit.”
The film is produced and directed by Hemant Kumar Mahale who has so far successfully organised Indian musical shows abroad. Since ‘Whats app Love’ will be his first film, he wants to make it a musical film. Besides Javed Ali, the film also offers other renowned singers like Asha Bhosale & Shreya Ghoshal. The trailer of this film which was also released on this occasion, clearly suggested that for ‘Whats app’ users this film will turn out to be a perfect guide. The film stars Rakesh Bapat, Anuja Sathe, Persian actress Sareh Fer, Pallavi Shetty, Anup Choudhari and Anuradha Rajadhyaksha. Music by Nitin Shankar, lyrics by Ajita kale and camera by Suresh Suvarna are the other credits.
The film will be released all over Maharashtra on 12th July 2019.
Sai Tamhankar fan club make hundred under privileged children happy
We are all aware that Marathi actress Sai Tamhankar always finds time for her social commitments. Similarly her fan club ‘Saiholiks’ which comprises of many well wishers, carry forward her message to the society by involving themselves in some social commitment. Recently, on the occasion of Sai’s birthday, this fan club distributed school kit to hundred under privileged children and saw happiness on their faces.
Speaking about their work, her fans said that every year they celebrate their favourite star Sai’s birthday by taking up some kind of social work. During the last three years they have planted trees in different parts of state to celebrate her birthday. Reacting to this fine gesture from her fan club, Sai said, “ I consider myself fortunate that I have such a wonderful group of people as my well wishers, who think of different ideas to celebrate my birthday in a unique way.”
