There is hardly any literate in this world, who does not know about what’s app. In fact, What’s app has become integral part of human life today. As there are advantages, there are disadvantages too, through this social networking medium. There are some misunderstandings and at the same time there are cheatings. Many youngsters fall in love with exchange of messages and later it is turned into affair. But not all such affairs are successful.
To make youngsters and also those married ware of the wrong signals, producer-writer-director Hemant Kumar Mahale is presenting his film suitably titled ‘WhatsApp Love’ from Friday. Through an entertaining script, he intends to send across a timely message to one and all. As part of the film’s promotion, the film maker will disclose the love affair of the lead characters in the film, which is expected to go viral. Music is also important part of this film, which has renowned names rendering their voices to the songs in this film. The film stars Rakesh Bapat, Anuja Sathe, Persian actress Sareh, Pallavi Shetty, Anup Choudhary and Anuradha Rajadyaksha.
Naresh Bidkar’s ‘Once More’ to be released on 1st August
Naresh Bidkar who believes in solving the ‘magical thing in this logical world’ is all set to present his Marathi film ‘Once More’ on 1st August, which based on the husband and wife relationship on this theory. Recently, music release of this film was held in presence of popular actor- director Mahesh Manjrekar and renowned music director Ashok Patki. On this occasion, the teaser of this film was also unveiled.
While speaking on this occasion, director of this film Naresh Bidkar and writer Shweta Bidkar assured that their film will show the audience a new way to live their life. Praising the efforts of Naresh Bidkar, Mr. Mahesh Manjrekar wished him all the best. The film has three songs of different genres , which are rendered by Swapnil Bandodkar, Nakash Aziz and Hamsika Iyer . Lyrics by Shweta Bidkar, music by Shailendra Barve and background score by Saurabh Bhalerao are the other credits of this film.

Pitambar Kale’s 75th Birthday celebration to be attended by Marathi celebrities
75 year old Pitambar Kale is a renowned Marathi film director who began his film career as assistant director way back in 1968 for Anant Mane’s Marathi film ‘Ganagoulan’ has also completed 50 years of his career in film industry. To felicitate him on his 75th birthday, Kalangan Sanskrutik Manch and Mumbai Eki Group have organised his birthday celebrations in a big way on 15th July 2019 at 4.30 pm in Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai in presence of large number of celebrities from Marathi film industry and Bollywood.
After assisting most of the renowned directors of Marathi film industry from 1968 to 1986, Pitambar Kale directed his first independent Marathi Film ‘Irsal karti’ in 1987 followed by about 40 to 50 films till 2017. Apart from renowned Marathi celebrities like Vikram Gokhale, Ashok Saraf, Alka Kubal, Manoj Joshi, Varsha Usgaonkar, Ajinkya Deo, Sayaji Shinde, Milind Gunaji, Bharat Jadhav, Avinash Narkar, Aishvarya Narkar, Girish Oak, Mohan Joshi, Priya Berde Bollywood actors Sunil Shetty and Asrani have also confirmed their presence. Among the film makers and directors Rajdutt, Jabbar Patel, Ramdas Phutane, Satish Randive, Achyut Thakur, Chaitrali Dongre and others will also be present.
Teaser of Marathi film ‘Baba’ released
Ever since the announcement was made that Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt will be presenting a Marathi film ‘Baba’ which is dedicated to his late father and legendary actor Sunil Dutt, there has been a lot of curiosity about this film’s subject. The film’s poster could not give much hint. But now, with the release of the teaser of this film, it clearly suggests that it is a story of a father and his little son with speech problem. Set on the backdrop of rural area, the film is likely to present father’s struggle to give proper education to his son.
Produced under the banner of Sanjay Dutt productions with Ashok and Aarti Subhedar of Blue Mustang Creations , the film will be released on 2nd august 2019. With this film Bollywood actor Deepak Dobriyal will be making his acting debut in Marathi and his co star in this film will be Nandita Patkar. The lead pair is supported by Spruha Joshi, Abhijit Khandkekar, Chittaranjan Giri, Jaywant wadkar and child artiste Aaryan Menghji. The film is directed by Raj R Gupta, who strongly believes that ‘emotions have no language. “It is a bittersweet tale of how a family pursues happiness over everything.” he says.
At the age of 86 Ashatai sings Marathi club song
Legendary Singer Asha Bhosale who started singing at the age of 10, is still going strong at the age of 86 years. Over the years she has rendered all types of songs right from classical to folk. Moreover, for club songs there was no competition for her. During her earlier days, in presence of renowned singers like Lata Mangeshkar and Noorjahan, she made a place for herself and has still maintained her position at 86.
It seems that age does no matter for her, as recently she has rendered a Marathi club song with the same enthusiasm she possessed earlier, for forthcoming Marathi film ‘Whats app Love’. Ashatai has rendered the song ‘ Raat Suhani si..Jhale Diwani mee’ for this film, on the lyrics of Ajita Kale & Sahil Sultanpuri with music composed by Nitin Shankar, who is music arranger for Bollywood films. When Nitin Shankar heard the tune of this film, he suggested the name of only Ashatai to producer –director Hemantkumar Mahale, who immediately agreed for the same. This song has been picturised at a club set on artistes of this film Rakesh Bapat and newcomer Pallavi Shetty.
Dhairyasheel finds a role in Ajay Devgan film
Actor Dhairyasheel who played a villain in Sanjay Jadhav‘s Marathi film ‘Luckee’ is lucky to find a role of mavla in Tanaji’s army in Ajay Devgan’s forthcoming Bollywood film ‘Tanaji’. Dhairyasheel has already performed in TV serials like ‘Goshta Eka Japtichi’ and ‘Ekach Hya Janmi Janu’ had also performed in Avadhoot Gupte’s film ‘Ek Tara’. But, finding a role in Ajay Devgan’s ‘Tanaji’, Dhairyasheel considers a big opportunity.
Speaking about his latest achievement, Dhairyasheel says, “For any actor, it is a dream to work with Bollywood superstar. After entering this acting field, I started getting roles in Marathi dramas, TV serials, short films and commercial films. And there was somewhere in my mind that one day I should work with big Bollywood stars. Today, this wish has been fulfilled.”
Madhav Deochakke appointed captain of Big Boss-2
Renowned TV star Madhav Deochakke who has shown his acting skills with variety of roles on television is now seen in the reality Marathi show Big Boss-2. Another big news for him is that he has been appointed as captain of Big Boss House this week, based on his performance in different tasks .
The family members of Big Boss house had shortlisted Madhav Devchakke and Veena Jagtap for captaincy , when both were asked to undergo the test of standing longer time standing next to the pole at Swimming pool . And this competition was won by Madhav, which made his way clear for captaincy.
According to those close to Madhav, his appointment as captain will help establish a cordial atmosphere in Big Boss house, which witnessed tension filled atmosphere last week. They feel that Madhav is a balanced and sensible person to lead the team. Incidentally, even Mahesh Manjrekar had praised his cool nature.
‘Takatak’ crosses Rs. 3 Cr. collections in 3 days
Now days, Marathi films are known for setting new trends . Till now, we had seen films with pure comedy, biopics & true stories receiving good response from the audience. As per the source, writer- director Milind Zumbar Kavde‘s latest film ‘Takatak’ also setting a new record by crossing Rs. 3 Crore collection in first three days . The so called first ever sex comedy in Marathi seems to have received a good response in Maharashtra from the audience including youngsters.
According to the makers, the highlight of this film is its content which has a lot of mischief and fun, well suited to the youth. Also the chemistry between the lead pair of Prathamesh Parab and Ritika Shrotri has been liked by the audience.The new pair of Abhijeet Aamkar and Pranali Bhalerao has also impressed the with their performances. Supporting actors like Bharat Ganeshpure, Pradeep Patwardhan and Ananda Karekar have also rendered good performances in the film which has helped this film to attain new heights.
Sameer Dixit and Hrishikesh Bhirangi of Pickle Entertainment and Purple Bull Entertainment who handled the task of distribution of the film, successfully managed to get over 450 screens with over 6000 shows. Distributor Sameer Dixit says, “Like in Hindi Cinema where different territories are sold, for the first time in Marathi Cinema, the territory of Nizam (Marathawada) has been sold for ‘Takatak’ even before the release of the film.”
Poorvi Bhave offers ‘Bhaj Ganapati Song’ in her Antarnaad series
Dancer turned actress Poorvi Bhave is known for her creative dancing skills, ever since she learned Bharat Natyam since her child hood days. Recently, Poorvi launched her new album in Antarnaad series, which contains ‘Bhaj Ganapati’ song in Bharat Natyam style. The song has been composed by Poorvi’s mother and renowned classical singer Varsha Bhave. Poorvi always felt that her new series should begin with a Ganapati song on Bharat Natyam style. She has assured that the next songs in this series will also offer variety.
‘Bhaj Ganapati’ song has been picturised at Gundeshwar temple in Sinnar. Speaking about her experience during picturisation of this song, Poorvi Bhave says, “ This song was shot during the month of May, when the temperature was maximum. The flooring around the temple area used to become so hot that it was not possible to walk barefoot on it. Moreover , the flooring was also uneven and we had limited time allowed for this shoot. So, dancing on this floor was more challenging, but I had to accept this challenge. Most of the shots were taken in one take. But, the result has been more than satisfying, with good response received on youtube.”

During the earlier days of stage plays and feature films, male artistes used to perform female characters, as there were very less females coming forward in the acting profession. But now, time has changed. Female actresses have taken the challenge to perform male characters. This happened on the sets of director Naresh Bidkar‘s forthcoming Marathi film ‘Once More’. Actually, they were looking for a female to perform the character of a male and unanimously everybody on the sets decided only on one name, which was Rohini Hattangadi.
In this film Rohini Hattangadi plays the role of grandfather , the photograph of this character is seen in this picture. It wasn’t an easy task to perform this character. So, you can imagine how much of hard work must have been there to play this role. When director Bidkar was looking for an artiste to play the double role of male and female simultaneously, he approached Rohini Hattangadi and she accepted this offer, as she found it challenging. Bollywood make up artistes Ramesh and Kamalesh have done prosthetic make up for Rohiniji and this process used to take five hours before the shoot and removal of make up 2 hours after the shoot. So, get ready to watch Rohini Hattangadi in this unusual role on 1st August 2019, when the film will be released all over Maharashtra.
