Subodh, Prarthana & Rinku together in ‘Better Half chi Love Story’
The so called unusual love story ‘Better Half chi Love Story’ presented by Sushilkumar Agrawal & Ultra is all set for release on 22nd August 2025. This new Marathi film which is a love story filled with humour, talks about the complications in relationship. Recently, the motion poster of this film was released on social media generating interest among Marathi film lovers.
Written, directed and captured in his camera by Sanjay Amar, this film stars Subodh Bhave, Prarthana Behre, Rinku Rajguru and Aniket Vishwasrao in lead roles. Music of this film is composed by Sajan Patel and Amey Nare. According to Producer Rajat Agrawal, This film will offer something entertaining with a new subject and is sure that this film will be well received by the audience.
Marathi film ‘Paani’ turns out to be the film of the year with 25 awards
Rajashri Entertainment’s first Marathi film ‘Paani’ produced along with Purple Pebble Pictures and Kothare Vision Pvt. Ltd, has turned out to be the film of the year, winning 25 awards at various film festivals in India and abroad. Directed by Adinath Kothare this film is a biopic on the life of Hanumant Kendre who is known in Maharashtra as ‘Jaldoot’, for his immense contribution in the field of ecosystem related to water conservation.
Starring Adinath Kothare in the lead role along with renowned artistes Rucha Vaidya, Subodh Bhave, Rajit Kapoor, Kishor Kanda, Nitin Dixit, Sachin Goswami, Mohanabai, Shripad Joshi and Vikas Pandurang Patil, this film which was released last year, is now available on OTT platform Amazon Prime, in Marathi and also Hindi language. This film has become the subject of discussion now, as till now this film has bagged 25 awards for best film and best direction. In the 66th National film awards, this film won the best film award on the subject of Environment protection.
‘Parinati – Badal Swatahsathi’ to release on 1st August
Two talented actresses of Marathi film industry namely Sonalee Kulkarni and Amruta Subhash will be coming together for the first time, through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Parinati – Badal Swatahsathi‘ . Produced by Parag Mehta and Harsh Narula and directed by Akshay Balsaraf, this film is ready for release on 1st August 2025.
The poster of this film ‘Parinati’, which was released recently on social media, shows two women on the backdrop of a Bar, shows two women from different background in close relationship. One of them sitting on a bench with colourful costumes and bold looks, while the other woman with simple looks, sitting on the ground and resting her head on her legs. With this there itself, the poster of this film has already raised a lot of curiosity among the film lovers.
Suspense filled ‘Asambhav’ to release on 21st November 2025
Sachit Patil’s Mumbai Pune Films Entertainment and Nitin Prakash Vaidya have announced the release of their suspense filled Marathi film ‘Asambhav;. With the release of teaser of this film recently, the makers have decided to release this film on 21st November 2025. Co-produced by Sharmishtha Raut, Tejas Desai, Mangesh Parulekar and Sanjay Potdar, this film is directed jointly by Sachit Patil and Pushkar Sudhakar Shrotri.
Sachit Patil will also be playing the lead role in this film along with renowned artistes Mukta Barve, Priya Bapat and Sandeep Kulkarni. According to the directors Sachit and Pushkar, the story of this film is so gripping that it will keep the audience engaged. Producer Nitin Prakash Vaidya says that he was impressed by the story and screenplay and therefore agreed to produce this film along with Sachit Patil.
‘Premachi Goshta 2′ teaser released
It seems Everest Entertainment believe in making sequels of their successful films. So, after the success of their ‘Premachi Goshta’ , now they are making a sequel ‘Premachi Goshta 2′ which is set for release on 22nd October 2025. Recently, the teaser of this film was released on social media, which has raised the expectations of the film lovers about this film.
The teaser of this film shows Lalit Prabhakar being controlled outside the court by Swapnil Joshi and Bhau Kadam who are playing Baburao and Baburao in this film. Rucha Vaidya and Ridhima Pandit are the female co-stars of this flm . This film is produced by Sanjay Chhabriya and directed by Satish Rajwade.
Priya Bapat and Umesh Kamat together in a film after 12 years
Priya Bapat and Umesh Kamat together have performed successfully together on big screen besides performing on stage. Last we saw them together in ‘Time Please’, in 2013 after their marriage. But now, after 12 years, they will be seen together opposite each other in lead roles through forthcoming Marathi film ‘ Bin Lagnachi Goshta’.
The motion poster of this film was released recently on social media, which shows a confident looking Priya along with Umesh in a little confused look, holding a garland in his hands. Produced by God Gift Entertainment Pvt.Ltd and S.N. Pictures and presented by Tejashree Adige and Nitin Vaidya Productions, this film is directed by Aditya Ingale. This film will be released on 12th September 2025.
‘Punha Shivajiraje Bhosale’ first look released
On the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, Producers Rahul Puranik and Rahul Sugandh released the first look of their forthcoming Marathi film ‘Punha Shivajiraje Bhosale’. This first look presents actor Siddharth Bodke delivering some inspiring dialogues to remind people about their duty to rise and fight any difficult situation with the spirit of the great warrior Shivchhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, there are big expectations from this film, as the lead actor Siddharth Bodke has already shown his ability through his powerful dialogues through the first look of this film. Child artiste Trisha Thosar is also seen along with him in the teaser of this film. According to the makers of this film, this film does not peep back into history, but to enlighten the audience with the thoughts of Shivaji Maharaj and his ideology. The film is set for release during coming Diwali.
Zee Studios presentation ‘Dashavatar’ to release on 12th Sept.
We are all aware of ‘Dashavatar’ , a traditional folk theatre form depicting the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. It is deeply rooted in the Konkan region of Maharashtra and therefore a Marathi feature film to be made on this subject certainly draws a lot of curiosity. Presented by Zee Studios and produced by Ocean Films and Ocean Art House, this film’s story, screenplay and direction is by Subodh Khanolkar.
The story of this film is based on a strange happening in Konkan region. Recently, the first look of this film was presented through a teaser, which has generated more interest among film lovers. So, this horror filled story is captured on the beautiful scenic locations of Konkan, which makes this film more presentable. The film is all set for release on 12th September 2025.
World Premiers of Four Marathi films at NAFA Film Fest
The North American Film Association ( NAFA) has been doing a lot to promote Marathi films in USA and Canada. Last year, for the first time they had organised a Marathi film festival for the Marathi film lovers from USA and Canada. This year the organisers have have planned a grand event from July 25th to 27th 2025 in California Theatres, San Jose.
The World Premiere of Four Marathi films will be held during this festival and the four films selected for this show are, ‘Snow flower’ directed by Gajendra Ahire, ‘Muktai’ directed by Digpal Lanjekar, ‘Chhabila’ directed by Anil Bhalerao and ‘Raavsaheb’ directed by Nikhil Mahajan.
According to NAFA Founder Mr. Abhijit Gholap , this festival is not just not the presentation of art but promoting Marathi films to the audience from USA and Canada. On 25th July, there will be awards night followed by Gala dinner. On 26th and 27th July, besides World Premiere of above mentioned four films there will be premiere of 16 short films, four foreign language films, Students section, Master classes, Meet & Greet and Live performances.
Many top Marathi celebrities like Dr. Mohan Agashe, Mr. Amol Palekar, Sachin Khedekar, Mahesh Kothare, Ashwini Bhave, Sonali Kulkarni ( Sr.), Avadhoot Gupte, Adinath Kothare, Vaidehi Parshurami, Madhur Bhadarkar will be attending this festival. BMM’s 57 Maharashtra Mandals have offered their support for this grand film fest.
Suhas Joshi performes action scenes at the age of 77
At the age of 77 veteran Marathi film actress Suhas Joshi has performed action scenes in the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Gadi No. 1760′. Ms. Joshi refused to use a duplicate for this particular action scene in this film. And her decision to to do so, inspired everybody present on the set, including the writer- director of this film Yogiraj Sanjay Gaikwad.
Recently, the trailer of this film was also released clearly indicating that this film will be presenting entertainment filled with twists and turns through its screenplay. The film stars Prathamesh Parab, Shubhankar Tawde, Priyadarshini Indalkar along with Prasad Khandekar, Suhas Joshi, Shashank Shende, Shrikant Yadav and others in lead roles .
