‘Colorful’ will be Prakash Kunte’s next Marathi film
After the long period of Lock down due to corona pandemic, shootings and post production work of Marathi films are soon returning to normalcy. Prakash Kunte who offered variety of good films like ‘Coffee Aani Barach kahi’, ‘Jara Hatke’ and ‘Cycle’ is now all set to offer his next Marathi film ‘Colorful’ . This film is being produced by Manasi , who had earlier made Hindi documentaries and short films. With this film she has entered into Marathi as producer.

Poster of this Colorful film has been released recently, which has created a lot of curiosity about this film among the film lovers. The cast of the film and other credits have not been announced. But, the audience will have to wait for its grand release only in 2021. So, wait for the lockdown to end soon and get ready to watch this colourful film.
Actress Sharmila Rajaram plays a TV newsreader

Virus Marathi have presented their new web series ‘No Breaking News’ on youtube. It is suitably titled as the subject of this serial is based on different ways of breaking the news. Actress Sharmila Rajaram who plays the lead role in this series, is seen presenting the news in her own style, to avoid being typecast. In one of the episodes, Sharmila will be seen breaking the news while cleaning the rice.
Actually, the aim of the makers of this web series is to present the subjects covered by the news channels in a different way. The series is directed by Santosh Kolhe, who had earlier directed Sharmila in his previous series ‘Shock Katha’. The writer of this series is by Yugandhar Deshpande. Till now, two episodes of this series have already been released, while the third episode is being released now. Youngsters on social media have welcomed it. The trailer of this episode says it all.
Poster of Marathi film ‘Tath Kana’ on Dr P S Ramani unveiled

Known for his work in Newcastle and his neurospinal surgery technique of “PLIF”, World renowned Dr. Premanand S Ramani is currently the senior neurospinal surgeon at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai. His surgery technique has brought relief to thousands of people suffering from this problem. At the age of 80 Dr P S Ramani is still attending to patients in OPD even during this ongoing corona pandemic. A Marathi biopic ‘Tath Kana’ has been made on his success story and the poster of this film was released recently on the occasion of ‘World Spine Day’. A small ceremony was held on this occasion, in presence of Dr.Ramani himself along with producers of this film Vijay Mudshingkar, Karan Rawat, Director of the film Girish Mohite, writer Shrikant Bojewar and lead actor of the film Umesh Kamat who is playing the role of Dr. Ramani.

It may be recalled that Dr. Ramani had to struggle a lot in his life since his childhood in Ponda, Goa to achieve his dream of becoming a surgeon, after coming to Mumbai. His autobiography with the same name ‘Tath Kana’ has been published with 17th edition. Such is the popularity of his book. Dr. Ramani has also written many other books, which were published in Marathi and English. Speaking on the occasion of the poster release, Umesh Kamat said that it was his privilege to play the role of such a respectable personality, while director Girish Mohite said that while handling this different subject, he could understand his unique personality.
Dr. Ramani has also reacted stating that watching his life journey through this film is certainly the happiest moment for him. Avinash Vishwajeet have provided music of this film, while cinematography is by Krushnakumar Soren . Editing by Nilesh Gawand, art by Mahesh Kudalkar are the other credits. Prashant Pawar is executive producer of this film.

Sameer Patil returns to acting with web series ‘TarTiTo’

Actor Sameer Patil who had switched over from acting to writing and direction is now back to his acting profession with a web series ‘Tartito’ directed by Santosh Kolhe. It may be recalled that Sameer Patil with his writing had switched over to direction with films like ‘Vikun Tak’ , ‘Poshter Boyz’ read review, ‘Poshter Girlz’ read review & ‘Shentimental‘ read review. But now, it seems during this worst period of lockdown in the industry, he is back to his acting profession.
This web series ‘Taritito’ is made by Virus Marathi and the story of this web series revolves around a father and his two grown up children living at Ghodbunder Road, Thane. Sameer plays the character of Manohar a father who lives with his two children – daughter Kshiti and Son Tosh and has to look after all their needs, as his wife is away in Sangli on her job assignment. How Manohar handles the responsibility of his college going son and daughter is what this series presents to the home viewers. The role of daughter is played by Ankita Desai while Srujan Deshpande plays the role of his son. 3 parts of this series have already been released on youtube and the trailer of the next part is released now.
World Premiere of ‘Karkhanisanchi Wari’ at Tokyo International Film Fest
Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Karkhanisanchi Wari’( Ashes on a Road Trip) has been selected for the World Premiere at the prestigious 33rd Tokyo International Film festival. The festival is scheduled between 31st October and 9th November in Tokyo. The film is produced by Nine Archer’s Pictures Company and Pravah Productions & Archana Borhade and is directed by Mangesh Joshi. Earlier, this director had directed the film ‘Lathe Joshi’ which had also participated in many international film festivals. Archana Borhade has done the cinematography of this film.

The film’s story is based on a humour filled road trip undertaken by a family and stars renowned actors like Amey wagh, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Dr Mohan Agashe, Gitanjali Kulkarni, Pradeep Joshi, Ajit Abhyankar, Vandana Gupte, Shubhangi Gokhale and Pradeep Velankar. Music of this film is composed by A.V. Prafulchandra while the background music is by Sarang Kulkarni. Director Mangesh Joshi has appealed to all Marathi film lovers to strongly support his film.
Suvrat Joshi does dubbing of his film from London
The corona pandemic has come in the way of many projects, which were nearing completion. Some films makers finished the shooting of their films, but the post production work is held up. One such film is ‘Goshta Eka Paithanichi’. The dubbing work of lead actor Suvrat Joshi was pending, as the actor was held up in London.

However, recently to overcome this problem the make
rs of this film and director Shantanu Rode thought of a plan. They asked Suvrat to visit a studio in London for his dubbing work, which monitored online from India by director Shantanu Rode. The technicians present at the studio were from Bangaladesh and Poland. So, it turned out to be an unusual experience for Suvrat.
The film is produced by Planet Marathi, Golden Resho Films and Lakeside Productions and stars Sayali Sanjeev, Suvrat Joshi, Shashank Ketkar and Milind Gunaji in lead roles.
Veteran Marathi actor Avinash Kharshikar is no more
Veteran Marathi actor Avinash Kharshikar who was active with Marathi entertainment industry since 70s is no more. He passed away today at Thane due to heart failure. Avinash had performed in all the three areas of Marathi entertainment i.e. stage, television and films, besides performing in some Hindi films. He is survived by his wife & daughter. Today morning he suffered heart attack at his Thane residence and was taken to hospital, where he was declared dead.

Avinash had performed memorable roles in popular Marathi plays like ‘Tujhe Aahe Tujhpashi’, ‘Vasuchi Sasu’, ‘Saujanyachi Aishi Taishi’, ‘Lafada Sadan’ and so on. He had performed along with Nana Patekar in the film ‘Maficha Sakshidaar’. He was known for his comedy roles. Some of his other popular films were ‘Aai Thor Tujhe Upkaar’, ‘Lapava Chhapavi’, ‘Aadhar’ & ‘Bakula Namdev Ghotale’. With his sad demise, Marathi entertainment industry has lost a committed actor .
Teaser Poster of new Film ‘Free Hit Danka’ unveiled
Our film industry which was affected due to lockdown on account of spread of corona virus, is now slowly returning back to normalcy, with the progress of shooting and post production work. Looking at this positive change, SGM Film Productions have announced their new Marathi film ‘Free hit Danka’ recently.

The teaser poster of this film was unveiled recently, giving an indication that it is all set to offer something different. The film is to be directed by Sunil Magare, while the screenplay, dialogues and lyrics are penned by Navgire. The film is set on the backdrop of close relationship between friendship and love.
Thought the official announcement of this film has been made, the names of the artistes in the film have not been disclosed yet. Music of this film is by Baban Adagale and Ashok Kamble, while cinematography is by Veerdhaval Patil.
Poster of timely short film ‘Sankraman ‘ unveiled

Today is the time of digital world. Most of the people sitting at home are watching web series, instead of watching old serials and films, for their entertainment. Even short films are finding good viewership, as in a shortest time these films are able to convey a message very effectively. In fact the makers of short films are very creative people as they try to cover the happenings around us in a simple way. And this is the strength of a short film.
Kavya Dream Movies and Ms. Kiran Ningurkar are presenting one such timely short film suitably titled ‘Sankraman’, which talks about the dangers of corona virus. The film has actually shown how corona virus is spread giving an example of a youngster approaching a senior citizen in the neighbourhood for contribution to community Ganapati festival celebration. The film will be released soon on OTT platform and stars Pradeep Kadu, Pratish Sonavane, Sunil Jadhav, Aniket kadu, Ashok Kadu, Praveen kadu and Ashish Ningurkar.

Vijay Kamble will be making his debut in direction through this film, while the script is written by Ashish Ningurkar. Camera by Siddhesh Dalvi and editing by Vijay kamble are the other credits. The poster of this film is designed by Sumedh Gaikwad.
