New film ‘Kavach’ will be a tribute to Police Department

We are all aware of the services offered by our Police department to protect the lives of our citizens. Recently, we witnessed their role in the ongoing Corona virus. While serving for the people 24X7 many police also got affected with corona and some of them lost their lives. In fact, it the protective gear in the form of police around us, keeps us going in our day to day lie. And this protective gear in Marathi is called ‘Kavach’ (कवच).

To appreciate the efforts of Police, writer-director Ghanasham Vishnupant Yede under the banner of MatruPitru Films will be making this film to salute the work of police department. Very soon the title song of this film rendered by singer Aadarsh Shinde will be released of youtube channel. Music of this film by Suraj while cinematography is by Sarfaraz Khan. Earlier Mr. yede had made films on social subjects ‘Bola Alakh Niranjan’ and ‘Chal Re Fauji’ which was a tribute to our Indian soldiers at the borders.

These people are the worst sufferers , as many of them are starving.

The Akhil bharatiya mMarathi Chitrapat mahamandal  which has registered 5000+ such workers are working hard to provide some financial help or food grains . The volunteers of Chitrapat Mahamandal re trying to reach out to these workers who are scattered at different places. The President of Marathi Chitrapat Mhamandal Mr.  Meghraj Rajebhosale has appealed to Bollywood stars and other people to help these workers.

Responding to this appeal actress Genelia Ritesh Deshmukh and Riteish Deshmukh quickly responded and through their Mumbai Film Company have offered financial help of Rs. 10 Lakh for this just cause. The Chitrapat Mahamandal has thanked Rietesh and Genelia and others who have responded to their appeal.

Renowned Marathi writer Ratnakar Matkari passes away

Renowned Marathi writer Ratnakar Matkari is no more. He passed away yesterday night at Seven Hills Hospital, Mumbai, where he was admitted after being detected +ve for corona. He was 81. With his sad demise, Marathi entertainment industry has lost a legend who had contributed a lot to Marathi literature.

Born on 17 November 1938 in Mumbai, writer Ratnakar Matkari completed his education in Mumbai with a degree in economics from Mumbai University in 1958. He worked at the Bank of India for the next twenty years. Since 1978, he completely devoted his time exclusively to writing and production/direction of movies and plays.

Matkari’s first work, the one-act play ‘Wedi Manase (वेडी माणसे)’, was presented in 1955 on All India Radio in Mumbai, when he was only 17 . Besides writing plays, Mr. Matkari also worked as a columnist for newspapers and magazines during the 1970s. Matkari’s 98 works so far, include 70 plays, 18 books of his short stories, 3 novels, a book of poems for children, and 14 plays and three collections of plays for children. His popular works include, Dubhang (दुभंग) , Aranyak (आरण्यक), Ashwamedh (अश्वमेध), Indira, Sate Lote (साटेलोटे), Khol Khol Pani (खोल खोल पाणी), Char Diwas Premache (चार दिवस प्रेमाचे). Matkari’s popular plays for children include, Albatya Galbatya (अलबत्या गलबत्या), Nimma Shimma Rakshas (निम्माशिम्मा राक्षस) and Achat Gawachi Aphat Mavashi (अचाटगावची अफाट मावशी).
He was a writer for Marathi film ‘Bhai- Vyakti Ki Valli’ and ‘Investment’ a National award winning Marathi film which was also directed by him.

Aditi Dravid turns Corona warrior to help people

Marathi Actress Aditi Dravid, who played a negative role in Marathi TV serial ‘Majhya Navryachi Bayko’, has played a very positive role in real life. Aditi turned a Corona warrior through her own social group ‘Fly High’. With the help of her other colleagues from this group, namely Mandar Balkawade and music director Piyush Kulkarni she has been very active during this ongoing lockdown period.

For the past two years Aditi has been active with her ‘Fly High’ social group with her social work. Recently through her group Aditi had taken lead to distribute food packets and tea to Police on duty and also arranging essential goods and medicines to deserving people. Recently, her group distributed 1000 food packets to all those needy people. She will continue to help such people during the extended lockdown period.

Six new film projects announced by Producer Akshay Bardapurkar

Only a day after the release of a Mega Venture Film ‘AB ani CD’ by  Producer Akshay Bardapurkar of Planet Marathi, the orders for closure of  Cinema halls and the Drama theaters were issued by the Government. This  collapsed the Box Office arithmetic of many other films along with ‘AB  aani CD’. However, without getting bogged down by this sudden onslaught,  Producer Akshay Bardapurkar and his team took a brave decision to  release this film on Amazon Prime.

Considering the propriety of occasion of Maharashtra Day and Labour Day  on the 1st May, the film was released on the Amazon Prime and it  received a good response. Now with this success, Planet Marathi is  going to produce six new films & Web series projects. Producer Akshay  Bardapurkar announced this recently. Two of the important films that would be arriving under the banner are ‘Gosht Eka Paithanichi’ Directed by Shantanu Rode and ‘Chandramukhi’ Directed by Prasad Oak.

The Producers have said that they would make available many
opportunities during future projects for Planet Talent artists as well
as fresh talents for encouraging them. Above projects will have both a  genuine variety as well as roles played by top actors from Bollywood. However, the information about the cast as well as directors and the  faces from Bollywood appearing in these films has been a secret for now.  The decision is going to be most important from the angle of maintaining  stability for many economic arithmetic issues.

Actor Saiprasad Gundewar dies in USA during Brain Cancer treatment

Passionate young actor Saiprasad Gundewar, who was suffering from Brain Cancer for the past two years died today in USA . Sai was operated upon for this ailment in Los Angeles on 22nd February 2019 and since them was undergoing post operative treatment. His untimely passing away is a big loss to not only USA but also to Bollywood and Marathi film industry. He is survived by his wife Sapna Amin , a fashion designer, mother Rajashree and father Rajeev.

Speaking about this memorable moment, Smita says, “During my childhood, my parents had specially stitched new dress for me and they wanted to have my photo shoot in that dress and that too in a Photo studio on the backdrop of a curtain with painting of Kashmir. Whenever I see this photo, I remember the love and affection showered upon me by my parents. And therefore, during this lockdown period, I only think about my loving parents.”

‘Ek Hota Pani’ selected for Mysore International Film Festival

Marathi film ‘Ek Hota Pani’ has been selected for screening at the forthcoming Mysore International film Festival and this is a good news for the makers of this film. The film has also received various nominations in different categories of this film fest. Above all, the writer of this film Ashish Ningurkar has already been declared an award for the best writing on social issue.

Last year this film had already received appreciation at many film festivals and now with its selection for Mysore International Water Film Festival, the makers have added one more feather in their cap. The festival will begin soon after the lockdown restrictions are lifted.

‘Tu Parat Ye’ song released to boost the morale of people

The spread of corona virus has forced the Government to extend the lockdown period in Maharashtra. Our Marathi artistes who are also required to remain at home, are coming out with their ideas to entertain the people of Maharashtra observing all lockdown rules. Recently, 10 Marathi artistes became part of the song ‘Tu Parat Ye’ written and composed by S. Sagar and directed by Swaroop Balasaheb Sawant.
