Kailash Waghmare turns Bollywood singer with ‘Chandu Champion’
Kailash Waghmare who has played lead roles in Marathi films for the past 9 years, has turned a Bollywood singer with new Hindi film ‘Chandu Champion’. This film which stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead role of Murlikant Petkar is a biopic on the life of Jawan in Indian army, who was disabled in 1965 war against Pakistan after sustaining several bullet wounds, later switched to Swimming and other sports.
Later, in 1972 Murlikant won the first Paralympic Gold medal for India in in Swimming at Germany. In the same event he was finalist in other two sports. For his performance, he was awarded with the Padma Shri. Kailash has rendered a song in this film in praise for this committed sportsperson, which is penned by Abhijit Bhattacharya on the music of Pritam. For Kailash, this new innings of a singer has been welcomed by his well wishers from Jalna, his native place.
Raj More bags National award for best director on debut for short film ‘Khisa’
Debutant director Raj More has bagged National award for best debutant director for his short film ‘Khisa’, in the non feature film category. ‘Khisaa’ has already invited attention of the critics at the Indian and international festivals, where it was selected for screening. Reacting on this happy occasion, director Raj More says, ” You are all aware that for the past one year ‘Khisa’ has invited attention of people from all over the world, wherever this film was screened at different international film festivals. And now, with this National award I am very happy. This award is not my individual award, but belongs to the entire team of ‘Khisa’. Now, with this honour my team’s responsibility has increased and we assure to offer more quality films.”
‘Khisa’ was also selected at the 51st Indian International Film Festival in Goa. In Istambul Film Awards, ‘Khisa’ received best short film and best screenplay awards and now for the IFA’s annual Live Screening Event for Golden Star award to be held in Istambul, Turkey in March 2021 the film has become eligible. Written by Kailash Waghmare, the story of this film revolves around a small boy from a village . The film stars Kailash Waghmare, Meenakshi Rathod, Shruti Madhideep, Dr. Sheshpal Ganvir and Vedant Kshirsagar.
Marathi short film ‘Khisa’ finds entry in International Film Festival
Marathi short film ‘Khisa’ which has already invited attention at different national and international film festivals, has now been selected for screening at the 51st International Film Festival, which is scheduled to be held in Goa between 16th – 24th January 2021. Produced by P. P. Cine Productions and Laltippa this film is directed by Raj Pritam More and is written by Kailas Waghmare. The entire shooting of this film was held in Akola in Vidarbha.
‘Khisa’ has already bagged Best film and Best Screenplay awards at the Istambul Film awards 2020 and also bagged the best screenplay award at the prestigious 10th Dadasaheb PhalkeFilm Festival. The film has also been selected for screening at the 2021 IFA annual live screening for the Golden Star award. There are many such festivals where the film was selected. According to the director, this film talks about social atmosphere in the country and the narrow minds of the people living in villages.
It is an emotion filled film which stars Kailash Waghmare, Meenakshi Rathod, Shruti Madhideep, Dr. Sheshpal Ganvir, and Vedant kshirsagar. Music by Parijat Chakravarty, editing by Santosh Maithani and cinematography by Simarjit Singh Suman are the other credits.
‘Half Ticket’ to release on 15th July
Director Samit Kakkad, who gave us Marathi film ‘Aayna Ka Bayna‘ is back. This time, he has directed another Marathi film ‘Half Ticket’, which revolves around the dreams of two children. The film is now ready for release on 15th July 2016. Shubham More and Vinayak Potdar are playing these two important characters in this film. And, with them, in supporting roles will be Bhau Kadam, Usha Naik, Shashank Shende, Jaywant wadkar, Priyanka Bose, Kailash Waghmare. The film is produced by Video Palace.
Recently, the teaser of this film along with a song video was released in presence of invitees and entire team of the film. Cinematography by Sanjay Memane, art direction by Vasu Patil, sound designing by Anmol Bhave and music by by G.V.Prakash are the other credits of this film. Based on the story of M.Manikdan, the script of the film is written by Dnyanesh Zoting.
