And on this day, Ashish had expressed his desire to produce a song album for me. He also felt that this first song should be dedicated to the nation and therefore it was decided to produce ‘Vande mataram’ song to begin with. Recently I started ‘Savanee original’ series and released a tamil song which received overwhelming response. So, I decided to do the next song in Hindi. Till recently, I have sung songs dedicated to our nation for other groups. But, always felt that there should be a song of my own and that’s how ‘Vande Mataram’ song became a reality.”

‘Being realistic’ is the utmost requirement of period films ‘Gondya Aala Re’
Whether it is a feature film, TV serial or a web series, the maker has to be very particular while presenting the subject , if it deals with a particular era. Some directors make it a point to select proper location besides paying attention on costumes of that particular period. There is no compromise on that. Ankur Kakatkar who is directing the much talked about web series ‘Gondya Aala Re’ based on the life of Chaphekar brothers , the great freedom fighters from Mahararastra, has been working very hard on his project.

Arun has selected a suitable location in Bhor village in Maharashtra. Going with the tradition of the pre independence era, particularly in villages, the director had instructed all the lady characters, including the lead female character played by Pallavi Patil, during the course of shooting, to move barefoot. And therefore, during the entire day of the shooting Pallavi had to move barefoot. Initially she did have a problem. As being very particular about cleanliness, she used to wash her feet after every scene. But, later she realised that she had to be a perfectionist and hence practised her walks barefoot while moving from one house to another.
On many occasions, she had to stand barefoot, while giving photo pose before shooting a scene with her husband played by Bhushan Pradhan who used to be in chappals to go with the tradition. This web series is now getting ready for release on 15th August 2019. And with this series the web world is likely to be more popular among Marathi viewers.

Is the ongoing monsoon dampening the spirit of Marathi film lovers?
The entire month of July was a wet spell in different parts of Maharashtra including the city of Mumbai and suburbs. This certainly affected the business of Marathi film industry, as there was poor turnout at cinema halls. And, the situation seems to be no different in the beginning of August. Recently, due to continuous rains, some of the better films like ‘Smile please’, ‘Girlfriend’, ‘Baba’ could not find the regular crowd at ticket windows across Maharashtra.

Now, during this week the situation has been worst in places like Konkan, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Pune. As per latest reports received, some of the areas in Maharashtra are still under water and the people have either left their houses for safer places, or preferred to remain inside their homes. T here has been lot of damage to the crop and property.

Some of the big Hindi films are releasing around 15th August, but this week a multi starrer Marathi film ‘Ye Re Ye Re Paisa 2′ has been released as per schedule and the film will be screened at maximum cinema halls all over Maharashtra. Now, it remains to be seen, how this film does the business at the ticket windows in Mumbai and Maharashtra? Actor turned director Hemant Dhome who has directed this film is looking forward to good response for his film. According to him there is no calculation to make a successful film. The film should connect with the audience . And, this is most important.
‘Ye Re Ye Re Paisa 2′ has been shot in London and therefore it is a big budget film with multi star cast in it. It has renowned artistes like Sanjay Narvekar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Priyadarshan Jadhav, Aniket Vishwasrao, Mrunmayee Godbole, Pushkar Shrotri, Prasad Oak, Anand Ingale & Smita Gondkar. The film has music by Bollywood music directors Troy- Arif and cinematography by award winning cinematographer Sanjay Memane. So, there are big expectations from this film. But, once again as rightly said by the director, this film has to connect with the audience.
After success of ‘Boyz’ now be ready to welcome ‘Girlz’
After the success of ‘Poshter Boyz’, we saw a film in the name of ‘Poshter Girl’. Thereafter, watching the success of ‘Boyz’ and then ‘Boyz 2′ director Vishal Sakharam Deorukhkar is now bringing ‘Girlz’. “Why should boys have all the fun”, seems to be his logic, while making this film which will take you on the unusual journey of the world of young girls. The film is presented by Everest Entertainment and Kayara Kumar Creations.

Speaking about his film Vishal Deorukhkar says, “Most of the films on the lives of youngsters set on the backdrop of school and colleges are dominated by boys. But, there are no films based on the mischief and fun among girls. It is always said that friendship is only noticed among boys. But, this is not true. There can be good friendship between girls. In fact, at times girls can turn more mischievous than boys. And they can preserve their secrets intact, among them.”
The director also feels that audience will be more curious to know about this world of young girls and therefore he has given the answer through his film’s story. Producer Naren Kumar also feels that after a long time such a film on the lives of young girls is being offered. He recalls a film ‘Bindhast’ in Marathi on the college life of young girls, which was released 20 years ago. “Now, after a long gap a film on the lives of young girls is being offered by us.” he said.
Who are the artistes performing in this film and what is the story of this film is still not revealed. But, one thing is sure that this film will be released all over Maharashtra on 15th November 2019.
