‘Ek Vanchit’ shooting completed
Marathi films are known for their unusual scripts not only in India but also all over the world. In the presence of strong script, such films don’t need big names in the star cast. Producer Manoj KM and director Ravisuman have made one such Marathi film with a strong script. Shooting of this film was completed recently in Palghar and Vita areas off Mumbai. This film titled ‘Ek Vanchit‘ presents the story of a poor family which is making all efforts for survival.
Director Ravisuman who has also written the story of ‘Ek Vanchit‘ film, wants to fulfill the dreams of this poor family while exposing the bad people in this society. In short, the film will send a strong message to the audience. Made under the banner of Video 9 Productions, this film stars Madhavi Juvekar, Rajendra Jadhav, Ramchandra Dhumal, Jairaj Nair, Yakub Sayed, Vinaya Talekar, Sandeep Redkar, Supriya Gaokar, Prafull Banker, Srija Bhise, Umesh Bolke, Vikas Thorat, Anil Gawde & Shubhangi Shinde. Music by Vishal Borulkar and camera by Santosh Hankare are the other credits of the film.
Now, a consulting physician to make his acting debut in Marathi
Doctors turning towards acting profession is not new to Marathi film industry. Over the years, Marathi cinema has seen Medical professionals like Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar ( Dental Surgeon), Dr. Shreeram Lagoo( ENT Specialist), Dr.Girish Oak(MBBS) and Dr. Amol Kolhe(MBBS) leaving their medical profession to give their full time to acting.
Now, a consulting physician from Solapur is all set to make his acting debut through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Jaga Vegali Antyatra‘, which is scheduled for release on 23rd March 2018. Dr. Vishal Gore, originally from Beed belonged to a middle class family. After passing 12th, he studied his MBBS from Aurangabad and further studied MD. DNB from Pune. The passion for acting was always there in Dr. Vishal, who performed on stage while studying his MBBS. In fact, he was called Natasamrat in his medical college.
At present, Dr.Vishal Gore is practicing as a Consulting Physician in Solapur and is attached to four big Municipal hospitals. His selection to play one of the lead roles was a sheer coincidence. It so happened that once in party at Solapur Dr. Vishal Gore was presenting an event, when he was noticed by Dr.Nitin Toshniwal , who was looking for new faces for his film ‘Jaga Vegali Antyatra‘. He called him for audition to Mumbai. Being already passionate about acting, Dr. Vishal agreed for the same and found this role of a young unemployed graduate in the film.
Dr. Vishal Gore is now eagerly waiting for the release of this film, as he feels that the story of this film is unique . This film will not only entertain the audience but will also inspire them to change their outlook towards life.
Sonu Sood gives muhurat clap of Marathi film ‘Salman Society’
Now days , Marathi films have been offering new subjects which are not only educating the audience but also creating social awareness on different issues. Recently, writer-director Kailash Kashinath Pawar launched his Marathi film ‘Salman Society’ under the banner of Prajakta Enterprises & A.R. Enterprises. And to give the muhurat clap of this film, he invited Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who obliged the filmmaker.
Produced by Chandrakant Pawar and Rekha Surendra Jagtap jointly, this film ‘Salman Society’ has a tagline ‘Padhega India toh badhega India’, which clearly indicates that the film’s story is on the importance of children’s education. According to writer-director, the film’s subject will be presented in a humorous way. The shooting of this film will begin in mid-March, but the star cast of the film is
still not disclosed.
लहानग्यांचा आयुष्याचा प्रवास उलगडणार ‘फिरकी’
स्पॅाटलाईट प्रोडक्शनच्या ‘फिरकी‘ या आगामी मराठी चित्रपटातून ‘पतंगा’ च्या चित्रचौकटीतून लहानग्याच्या भावविश्वाचा आणि त्याच्या आयुष्याचा प्रवास सुरेखरीत्या उलगडण्यात आला आहे. येत्या ९ मार्चला हा चित्रपट प्रेक्षकांच्या भेटीला येणार आहे. मौलिक देसाई यांनी या चित्रपटाची निर्मिती केली असून लेखन व दिग्दर्शन सुनिकेत गांधी यांचे आहे.
फिरकीच्या मदतीने पतंगाचा प्रवास कधी उंच भरारीचा तर कधी हेलकावण्याचा असतो. आयुष्याचे ही असेच असते. प्रत्येकालाच आयुष्यात काही ठोस असे ईप्सित साध्य करायचे असते त्यात अनेक अडथळे येतात, त्यावर मात करून पुढे जायचे असते. या चित्रपटातही हा संघर्ष आहे. ‘फिरकी‘ या चित्रपटात मध्यवर्ती भूमिकेत असलेल्या गोविंदला (पार्थ भालेराव) व त्यांच्या मित्रांना पतंग उडवण्याचा खूप नाद आहे.
अनेक राष्ट्रीय व आतरराष्ट्रीय महोत्सवांमध्ये गौरविण्यात आलेल्या ‘फिरकी‘ चित्रपटात पार्थ भालेराव, पुष्कर लोणारकर, अभिषेक भाराटे, अथर्व उपासनी, अथर्व शाळीग्राम या बालकलाकारांसोबत हृषिकेश जोशी, ज्योती सुभाष, अश्विनी गिरी, किशोर चौघुले या कलाकारांच्या चित्रपटात भूमिका आहेत. पटकथा व संवाद सुनिकेत गांधी, आदित्य अलंकार, विशाल काकडे यांनी लिहिले आहेत. छायांकन धवल गणबोटे तर संकलन नितेश राठोड यांचे आहे.
‘Koi Mil Gaya’ child artiste plays lead role in ‘Jaga Vegali Antyatra’
He is not new to films. As a child artiste, he has faced camera 15 years ago. That too along with Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan. He was part of Hrithik’s Super Six gang of children, along with Hansika Motwani and others. Yes, we are talking about Omkar Purohit. Now, a grown-up youngster Omkar is already into Marathi television and films. But, besides being an actor, Omkar has also studied different departments of film production, doing some courses and assisting experts in this field. He has also worked in PR department.
Today, Omkar is all set to make his appearance in one of the lead roles in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Jaga Vegali Antyatra’ which is scheduled for release on 23rd March 2018. Unlike his father who played Ranaji Trophy Cricket at the national level , Omkar who hails from Thane, developed his passion towards films and today, he seems to be confident about his acting career. In ‘Jaga Vegali Antyatra’ produced by Dr. Nitin Toshniwal and directed by Amol Lalande , Omkar plays the character of an unemployed Civil Engineer.
Speaking about his selection in this film, Omkar said that he was selected through the audition process, which was open to all. Omkar was all praise for the story of this film, which according to him is unique with interesting content. So, let’s wish him and his team all the best.
KK Menon to play lead role in Lokesh Gupte’s Marathi film ‘Ek Sangaychay – Unsaid Harmony’
Known for his memorable roles in many sensible Bollywood films, actor K.K.Menon has always been a great admirer of Marathi films with good scripts. And now, we understand that he will be playing the lead role in actor turned director Lokesh Gupte‘s Marathi film ‘Ek Sangaychay… Unsaid Harmony’. Official announcement to this effect was made recently when the title of this film was revealed. As an actor, Lokesh Gupte has already established himself in all the three departments of acting, i.e. stage, television, and films. And, now as a director, he is all set to begin his new innings.
Speaking about his film, Lokesh said that the subject of the film is based on the relationship between parents and their children and how the lifestyle changes have affected the emotional bonding with rising expectations from each other. Through this film, he will try to show the good and bad changes noticed in the current situation. Explaining as to why he opted for K.K.Menon, Lokesh said that for this important character, he was looking for the strong versatile actor , who could perfectly understand the situation and KK met all my requirements.
The shooting of this film will begin from 9th march and will get ready for release all over Maharashtra on 18th October 2018 to coincide with Dusshera festival.
Marathi Film ‘Shimga’ on the backdrop of popular Konkan Fest
Many films in the past were made on the backdrop of some popular Indian festival. There were films made on the backdrop of popular festivals in Maharashtra, including the Ganapati festival, Gokul Ashtami, Raksha bandhan and so on. The coastal belt of Maharashtra covering picturesque Konkan is also known for some traditional festivals and one of them is Shimga, which is celebrated with Holi festival. The palkhi during Shimga is the main attraction during this festival.
Shree Kelmai Bhawani Productions have produced their Marathi film ‘Shimga’ on the backdrop of this festival and the teaser poster of this film was released on the auspicious occasion of Holi Pournima. Dressed up in army uniform two actors namely Rajesh Shringarpure and Bhushan Pradhan are noticed in this teaser poster. Based on the Konkan culture, the film is written and directed by Nilesh Krishna. Music of this film is composed by Pankaj Padghan on the lyrics of Guru Thakur and Valay.

Renowned Music director Shridhar Phadke makes a comeback through ‘Panipat’
Shridhar Phadke, son of late music legend Sudhir Phadke is already an established music director, having composed music of Marathi films like ‘Lakshmichi Pavale’, ‘Putravati‘,’Vishwavinayak‘, ‘Gharabaher‘ & ‘Hridaysparshi‘ . In the recent past, he had stayed away from music, due to some personal reasons. But now, Shridhar Phadke who is also a very good singer, besides a reputed music director, is making a comeback as a music director through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Panipat‘, which is based on Maratha history during 1750 to 1761.
This period was considered to be the most important period in Maratha history, as in 1758 Marathas had ruled Delhi, showing their supremacy, but three years later, they had to fight the Panipat war in which they suffered defeat. DSet on the backdrop of Panipat war, producer Ajay Prabhakar Kambli is making this film , which will also be directed by him. Recently, two songs of this film have also been recorded in the voices of Bollywood singers Sukhvinder Singh & Richa Sharma. And, this will be another highlight of this film, which is being made under the banner of Shree Vyankateshwara Films.
Sachin & Swwapnil come together after 10 years to play father & Son
We are all aware that veteran evergreen actor Sachin Pilgaonkar and the present Marathi superstar Swwapnil Joshi share the most eternal bond. Sachin has always treated Swwapnil like his son and has openly expressed this at many events. Moreover, Sachin has always appreciated the work of Swwapnil. Swwapnil has also reciprocated too give Sachin the place of a father in his life and looked upto him as an idol.
In the past, this pair has given a hit film like ‘Amhi Satpute‘ in the year 2008, which was an adaptation of Bollywood blockbuster ‘Satte Pe Satta‘. In the movie Swwapnil Joshi had played younger brother of Sachin Pilgaonkar. But now, after a long gap of 10 years this duo will be seen together as father and son in reel life, the strong bond they actually share in real life. The story of this film is not yet revealed but according to the makers of this film, the audience can expect a big dhamaka from them, through an interesting plot. Hope it works well for both of them.
