Mukta had to learn knitting to prepare for her role in ‘Aamhi Doghi’

Many a times artistes have to take special training in some art, to prepare themselves for a particular role in the film. In the case of actress Mukta Barve, she had to undergo special training in knitting, as her character Amlaa in the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Aamhi Doghi‘ demanded the same. Mukta, who is otherwise a very committed artiste, learnt this technique in a short time to make her character look more realistic.
‘Aamhi Doghi‘ film presents the story of two friends and Mukta’s friend is played by other talented actress Priya Bapat. Presented by Everest Entertainment, this film is now all set to release on 23rd February 2018. Through this film, actress & costume designer Pratima Joshi is making her debut as a director. While speaking about her film, Pratima said that the story of this film will appeal to all the young women, as it very much relates to them.
Rinku Rajguru’s film ‘Kagar’ launched with muhurat

After her successful debut through ‘Sairat’, Rinku Rajguru will now be seen in director Makarand Mane‘s film ‘Kagar’, which was launched with muhurat in Rinku’s hometown Akluj. The entire village had gathered in large number to see the local girl facing muhurat shot, clap of which was given by M.P. Vijaysingh Mohite Patil. Many other dignitaries including Dhairyasheel Mohite Patil,Shivtejsingh Mohite Patil were present on this occasion.
Both Rinku Rajguru and director Makarand Patil belong to this place Akluj and hence the dignitaries specifically mentioned about the progress of people from this place in film industry. Even the shooting of this film will be done in Malshiras taluka, thus offering some employment to local people. The dignitaries present also appealed to local people to offer cooperation to the unit of this film, considering this as their home production. Even otherwise, this film has raised lots of hopes, being the 2nd film of Rinku Rajguru.

Maths Professor directs a Marathi film ‘Angai Geet’

Mathematics professor directing a Marathi film is itself a big news and that too a professor from a place like Tirupati in South India. It so happened that Narsinh Panthula who teaches maths to students appearing from IIT-JEE exams developed liking for films and was inspired by some foreign films including films from Iran. He has even made some short films. But, a sensational happening in Maharashtra which became a big news at national level in newspapers, invited the attention of this professor and he made up his mind to make a film on this subject. Accordingly, he wrote the script of his film ‘Angai Geet‘ . He even sought help from ‘Shwaas‘ film maker Sandeep Sawant.
Soon, he found a producer and presenter for this film in the form of Arun Kumar Mulye and Chandrashekhar Rayavar and now the film is all set to release on 16th February 2018. The film ‘Angai Geet‘ is set on the backdrop of rural Maharashtra and this social subject revolves around three main characters of Bhikaji, Anusaya & Siddhu. The lead artistes of this film are, Arun Nalawade, Abhay Khadapkar, Neeta Donde, Pratiksha Sable & Raj Bane.
Will Raghav bring luck for Swwapnil Joshi

When a child is born on special days like 1st January, 26th January and 15th August, it is considered as lucky child. Popular Marathi actor Swwapnil Joshi witnessed this happy moment recently. Swwapnil & his wife Leena Joshi gave birth to a baby boy on 26th January 2018 and the actor and his family celebrated the day with double happiness welcoming the infant, who has been named Raghav. Swwapnil already has a little daughter Maayra.
Having started his acting career as a child artiste, Swwapnil has now almost completed 30 years in this entertainment industry. Last year his two films were released , but they didn’t do well, as expected. Now, his film ‘Waaras’ with Sachin Pilgaonkar is set for release in 2018. So, with the arrival of Raghav in his life, will this bring luck for the Marathi superstar ? But, one thing is sure that with the arrival of Raghav , the actor seems to be very happy and this can be noted from his photo with the new born.
Sachin is returning with Gajendra Ahire’s film ‘Sohola’

After his memorable performance in the hit Marathi film ‘Katyar Kaljat Ghusali’, renowned veteran actor Sachin Pilgaonkar will now be returning to Marathi films with Gajendra Ahire‘s forthcoming Marathi film ‘Sohola’. Sachin is playing lead role in this film, along with another renowned veteran actress Shilpa Tulaskar. Other renowned artistes in this film are, Vikram Gokhale, Lokesh Gupte & Mohan Joshi.
Recently, the last schedule of the film’s shooting was completed with picturisation of a party song on lead pair in the company of Aastha Khamkar & Lokesh Gupte. The choreography of this song was done by Phulwa Khamkar on the song, which has music by Narendra Bhide. On this occasion, speaking about this film, Sachin said that the title of this film clearly suggests the story of the film. “It is the film for all age groups.” he added. The makers of this film are planning the film’s release sometime in April or may this year.
Marathi film ‘Firebrand’ director Aruna Raje bags Rashtriya Gaurav Award

For the past 42 years she has been in the film industry, as a writer, director and editor of films. Though she has done selected films, all those films created a strong impact on the audience. Being an alumnus of FTII and having helmed films such as Rihaee, Shaque, Sitam, Tum and Gehrayee, the National Award-winner is now directing a Marathi film ‘Firebrand’, bankrolled by Priyanka Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra’s Purple Pebble Pictures.
One of the most prominent women directors of Indian film industry, synonymous with parallel cinema, Aruna Raje recently received Rashtriya Gaurav Award from the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind and was also felicitated as the ‘First Lady’, among fifteen women who excelled in their respective fields. Hence, this multiple award-winning director has been one of the first female technicians in the film business.
Spearheaded by Aruna Raje, ‘Firebrand’ is a contemporary story about relationships and the highs and lows people deal with in their lives. After receiving the award Aruna Raje said, “I am delighted to receive the recognition for being the first woman technician in the Indian film industry. Women have extraordinary capabilities and I personally believe that nothing is impossible for them. It is great that women are breaking new ground every day. For me, I love challenges & ‘the sky is not the limit’!”
Dr.Rajendra Pratap Singh begins his new innings as Marathi film producer

Dr.Rajendra Pratap Singh, owner of Yogayatan Group, who has established himself in the building construction and infrastructure development along with his wife Sheela Rajendra Singh, who is managing director of his group have started their new innings in film making with production of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Pari Hun Main‘. The shooting and post production work of ‘Pari Hun Main‘ film has just completed and the film is due for release soon.
The couple is non Maharashtrian, but because of their love and respect for Marathi culture, they thought of making this film. Moreover, through their film, they also wanted to convey a social message. Through this film, they have presented the story of an emotion filled journey of a middle class family. The film stars Nandu Madhav, Devika Daftardar, Shruti Nigade & Flora Saini in the lead roles.
‘Memory Card’ to release on 2nd March

Now days, we find unique titles for our Marathi films. Producer- director duo Priteesh Kamat and Mitesh Chindarkar are also presenting one such film with the title ‘Memory Card‘ set on the backdrop of picturesque Konkan with the story of friendship among four friends. The film is now all set to release all over Maharashtra on 2nd March 2018.
Today, we are all aware of the excessive usage of smart phones. But, In this film ‘Memory Card‘ audience will experience a smart touch that a phone is not really essential to keep in touch with their own people. The film presents newcomers and include Reeshabh Purohit, Vibhuti Kadam, Apurva Paranjpe, Pranali Chavan, Aditya Nakti, Kunal Shinde, Hitesh Kalyankar, Dinesh Patil, Kalpana Bandekar, Vijay Chavan and Akshta Kambli. This will also be the first time to find Actor Sanjay Khapre and Sunil Tawde together in this film.
The film ‘Memory Card’ is edited by Vijay Kochikar, Art Director is Pravin Chindarkar and Cinematography has been handled by Devendra Tanwar. Music of this film was launched recently. Eminent singers like Shankar Mahadevan, Javed Ali, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Mayuri Nevrekar have rendered their voices for the songs in this film.
‘Dance Maharashtra Dance’ starts from tomorrow at 9:30 on Zee Yuva

Dance reality shows have always received good response from home viewers . In the past ‘Dance India Dance’ popularly known as DMD had a big success, with involvement of big names. Now, Zee Yuva, will be presenting ‘Dance Maharashtra Dance‘ reality show in a big way from 24th January 2018. This programme will be telecast on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays @ 9.30 pm.
The makers of ‘Dance Maharashtra Dance‘ programme had to first shortlist 90 dancers from 5,500 participants who gave their auditions in different parts of Maharashtra like Thane, Nashik, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, besides Mumbai. And, it was a tough task for the judges to select 18 finalists for this show.
So, it will be interesting to see the talent among these best 18, to watch the ultimate winner. Big names like film maker Aditya Sarpotdar, Choreographer Phulwa Khamkar, actor Siddharth Jadhav and anchor Suvrat Joshi are associated with this show, to judge the performance of these finalists.
Sayaji Shinde’s film ‘Yuntum’ to release on 2nd Feb

Marathi film ‘Yuntum‘ which stars Sayaji Shinde in the lead role of a Sanai player is all set to release on 2nd February 2018. Recently, the trailer of this film was released on social networking sites and it has received very good response. Produced by Amol Dnyaneshwar Kale, presented by Ravi Jadhav, this film is directed by Sameer Asha Patil.
Speaking about his role in ‘Yuntum‘ film, Sayaji Shinde said that till now he had played various roles of villain in Marathi, Hindi & South Indian films. But, this role has taken him to a new height. This film also presents a new pair in the form of Vaibhav Kadam & Apurva Shelgaonkar and the trailer of this film says it all about its emotion filled subject.
The music of ‘Yuntum‘ film is composed by Chinar Mahesh, on the lyrics of Mangesh Kangane, while singers like Harshavardhan Vavare, Yogesh Ranmale, Anandi Joshi and Chagan Chougule have rendered their voices for the songs in this film.
