Recently, the teaser poster of the forthcoming Marathi film ‘Bharat Majha Desh Aahe’ with a suitable tagline ‘Ahinsaa Paramo Dharma:, Dharma Hinsaa Tathaiv Cha:’ was released on social media, generating a lot of curiosity about this film. Little Rajveersinhraje Gaikwad known for his popular character of ‘Ladoo’ on Marathi television, along with Devanshi Sawant are playing the lead roles in this film along with versatile artistes like Mangesh Desai, Shashank Shende, Chhaya kadam, Hemangi Kavi, Namrata Salokhe. The screenplay and dialogues are penned by Nishant Natharam Dhapse. The music is composed by Ashwin Shreenivas while lyrics are penned by Sameer Sawant. The editing of this film is done by Nilesh Gawand.
Marathi actor Adhish Paigude makes it big Hindi
Marathi actor Adhish Paigude who made his beginning as a stage actor shot into prominence with his character of Patankar through popular TV serial ‘Ratris Khel Chale’. But now, he has made it big in Hindi. Adhish has found a prominent role in forthcoming Hindi film ‘Nail Polish’ which will be released on Friday 1st January 2021 on Zee 5 OTT platform.
Speaking about his role Adhish says that this film is vocal about different shades of law and for me this was a unique experience of learning new things. In this film Adhish shares the screen with well known Bollywood artistes like Arjun Rampal, Manav Kaul, Anand Tiwari & Rajit Kapoor. So, the new year will be offering him a new platform to get noticed among the new audience.
It may be recalled that since his college days Adhish was attracted to Marathi stage with his participation at the Purshottam and Firodia Cup competitions. He has also won awards at the State Level drama competitions. To fulfil his wish of focusing on acting career, he left his Engineering job. He also performed in the play ‘Kasab aani Mee’ which was written by him, besides performing in plays like ‘k Rikami Baju’, ‘Beimaan’, ‘Mee Revati Deshpande’ , ‘Ashadhatil Ek Diwas’, ‘Hamidabaichi Kothi’, ‘Price Tag’, &’Hamlet”. He has also performed in Marathi films like ‘Jau Dya Na Balasaheb’, ‘Ek Hazarachi Note’, ‘Tumbaad’, and ‘Make up’. The TV serials he performed in were, ‘Eka Lagnachi Teesari Goshta’ ,‘Dil Dosti Duniyadari’ , ‘Girls Hostel’ besides web series ‘Strilingi Pullingi’.
‘Manmauji’ promises romantic journey with talented trio
After experiencing the dark days due to corona pandemic, we are now ready to witness ‘Sunshine after tears’. Many Marathi film makers have already made announcements of their films, while some of them have even announced the release dates during new year. Golden Gate Motion Pictures, known for backing interesting films like ‘Gulabjaam’ (watch trailer) and ‘Lost & Found’ , have announced their next Marathi film ‘Manmauji’, which has created a buzz on social media.
The film will present the talented trio comprising of Bhushan Patil, Sayali Sanjeev and newcomer Ria Nalawade . The film is produced by Vinod Malgewar and directed by Sheetal Shetty. Kshitij Patwardhan’s lyrics have been complemented by music from Amitraj, while Prasad Bhende will be on board as the DOP. According to the makers, this film will remind one and all about the memories of their first love. Incidentally, Golden Gate Motion Pictures are ready to roll out a few more projects in 2021, ‘Faujdaar‘ being one of them.

‘Back to School’ will revive your Golden Moments of childhood
With announcement of ‘Unlock’ after a six month long Lock down, the Marathi film industry is slowly gearing up for shooting schedules, muhurat and releases. One such film is ‘Back To School’ , teaser of which was released recently on social media. Produced by Shubhangi Satish Fuge, under the banner of Rangasanskar Productions, this film will be directed by Satish Mahadu Fuge. Screenplay and writing is by Amit Nandakumar Bendre and Satish Mahadu Fuge together.
The information about the star cast of this film has not been revealed yet. ‘Darling’ will be the first Marathi film announced for New year (2021) release
After erasing our bad memories of 2020, now the Marathi film industry is getting ready to welcome the new year with big hope. ‘Darling’ will be the first Marathi film to open the account for the new year, with official announcement of its release on 7th January 2021. The title song of this film has already received appreciation from the audience and now the second song ‘Yeh Hai Pyaar….’Is also likely to get the same response from music lovers.
‘Darling’ is produced by Amit Dhupe, Ajay Thakur, V.J. Shalakha and Nikhil Khajindar under the banner of 7 Horse Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., V. Patke Films and Kathakar Motion Pictures. Sameer Asha Patil has directed this film . The director is of the opinion that the audiences will get an entirely different experience altogether when they watch the film, because of the hard work put in by their brilliant technicians who are the people behind the scenes. Music composers Chinar and Mahesh say that they have painstakingly worked on composing the music for this film.
Sai Lokur & Pushkar Jog together in ‘Sanam Hotline’
Sai Lokur who recently tied her nuptial knot with Tirthadeep Roy is back to her acting field. She has focused her attention on ongoing web series ‘Sanam Hotline’ which is released in Marathi as well as Hindi language on the web world. In this serial she plays the lead role along with Pushkar Jog. This is a challenging role for as she plays a different type of character. Vinay Yedekar and Uday Nene are also playing important roles in this series.
Directed by Aakash Gursale, the story of this web series revolves around three call Centre executives played by Ishaan ( Pushkar Jog), his friend Abhijit ( Uday Nene) and Shivani ( Sai Lokur). All three of them are running an adult hotline. One day they get trapped into a racket and their life takes a new turn. How they face this situation, is what the story of this series is all about.
Marathi film ‘Date Bhet’ progressing fast in London
While we in Maharashtra are still facing some lock down restrictions which has affected shootings of Marathi films, some of our artistes are busy shooting in London. Director Lokesh Gupte after directing two films ‘Ek Sangaychay’ [read review] and ‘Runanubandh’ is busy as a director with shooting schedule of his new Marathi film ‘Date Bhet’ starring the trio comprising of Sonalee Kulkarni, Santosh Juvekar & Hemant Dhome. The film is produced by Amey Khopkar, Swati Khopkar, Ninad Battin & Tabrez Patel.
There is already a buzz on social media about this film as both Sonalee and Santosh have shared the photos of the London shoot with their crew members. The story of this film is written by Ashwini Shende-Bagwadkar while cinematography is by Pradeep Khanvilkar. Sad demise of Noted Music Composer Narendra Bhide
Noted Marathi music director Narendra Bhide is no more. He passed away today after suffering heart failure. He was 47. He is survived by his parents, wife and two children. A popular person that he was in Marathi film and drama industry, Mr. Bhide had maintained very cordial relations with all those with whom he was associated.
Some popular films he composed music for, were ‘A paying Ghost’, ‘Deool Band, ‘Mulshi Pattern’, ‘Bioscope’, ‘Hampi’, ‘Chi va Chi Sau Ka’, ‘Ubuntu’, ‘Lathe Joshi’, ‘Anumati’, ‘Elizabeth Ekadashi’, ‘Tya Ratri Paus Hota’, ‘Pushpak Viman and’ so on. He had also offered music for popular Marathi plays like ‘White Lily Night Rider’, ‘Love Birds’, ‘Katkon Trikon’, ‘Godi Gulabi’, ‘Chiranjiv Aais’ and others. Many prominent personalities from Marathi entertainment industry have offered tributes to his departed soul.
