Vasantrao Deshpande was a renowned vocalist who was known for his big contribution to Natya sangeet. Now, his life journey is being presented through much awaited Marathi film ‘Mee Vasantaro’. Recently, the Teaser of this film was released at the hands of renowned Tabla player and Padmabhushan Ustad Zakir Hussain. This first look was later released on social media.

 Speaking on this occasion Ustad  Zakir Hussain recalled his association with Pandit Vasantrao, when as a eight year old little boy he had the privilege of playing tablaa during Pandit Vasantaro’s event. I consider myself fortunate that I was close to him. His last performance was also in my presence. “Today he is not amongst us, but his voice is still with us.I am grateful to Rahul that through this film he has paid perfect tribute to his grandfather.

Singer, actor and music director Rahul Deshpande said ,  “The dream which myself and Nipun saw together has come true through this film. Getting inspiration from my grandfather, I could enter this filed of music.”  Presented by Jio studios , produced by Chandrashekhar Gokhale, Darshan Desai, Niranjan Kirloskar and directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari this film will be released in theatres from 1^st April 2022. Rahul Deshpande plays the role of Pandit Vasantaro Deshpande along with other artistes like Anita Date, Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Kaumudi Valokar and Amey Wagh.
