Action packed film ‘Figght’ to release on 20th December
In our Marathi film industry we find very few film makers presenting action packed films. Now Jimmy Moray, a young action director from Pune is making his debut in film direction through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Figght‘ which is no doubt full of action. Produced by Lalit Oswaal, this film claims to have a strong subject with a team of newcomers and veteran artistes. Recently, a poster of this film was launched on social media.
This action packed film will be presenting an action hero Jeet More, who is found most suitable for this central role and his action scenes are handled by Fight Master Firoze Khan. Along with Jeet the other new artistes of this film are, Sayali Joshi, Nishigandha Kunte, Prasad Surve, Rahul Belapurkar, Anup Ingale, Mangesh Nande, Rahul Phaltankar & Karam Bhat. The seasoned artistes in the supporting roles are Madhav Abhyankar, Suresh Vishvakarma, Poorva Shinde, Kamal Thoke & Asif Ibrahim. Script by Swapnil Mahaling,lyrics by Mandar Cholkar, music by Swapnil Godbole are the other credits of this film, which will be released on 20th December 2018.

Trailer of ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-3′ released
‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai-3‘ which is the first Marathi film to have three sequels, is set to hit screens across the State on December 7. The Trailer of this much awaited sequel was recently released in Mumbai in the presence of the lead pair Swapnil Joshi & Mukta Barve. On this occasion Director Satish Rajwade, Producer Sanjay Chhabria, Everest Entertainment, Amit Bhanushali , Co-Producer, 52 Friday Cinemas and Nandu Ahuja of Eros International were present.
Through this film, the super hit pair, Swapnil Joshi & Mukta Barve and renowned Director, Satish Rajwade have come together again with their successful chemistry for the 3rd Sequel along with eminent Stars like Rohini Hattangadi, Prashant Damle, Savita Prabhune, Suhas Joshi, Mangal Kenkre and Vijay Kenkre in lead roles. Marathi film goers are eagerly looking forward to this new sequel in the life of Gautam and Gauri .
Speaking on the occasion of teaser release, Satish Rajwade said, “We did not expect Mumbai Pune Mumbai (MPM) to be successful to such an extent. MPM has now become a cult, setting a trend of one of its kind love story and has become a habit with the audience. People are now more curious about the lives of Gautam and Gauri and relate themselves with the happenings in the lives of the couple. While shooting for ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’, we did not expect that we will go for a sequel. But, during the making of its second part we realized that there was a room for the third part as well. It would not be appropriate to reveal any more details about the film, but I can surely say that the third part too will prove to be equally successful.”

Sai Tamhankar has always been in the news for some or the other reason. Recently, we saw her performing in a web series . Then, we heard about her involvement in Wrestling Competition League, when she owned a team. And now, she has turned a Stand up Comedian. This clearly shows her enthusiasm and her ability to do the things which she feels are right for her. No wonder, she has got a big fan following on social networking media.
Sai recently, posted a video on instagram giving the information about her Stand up Comedy show at a particular venue in Thane on Sunday evening. ‘Kolhapur Diaries’ will be remake of Super hit Malayalam Film
Remakes of South Films is not new to Bollywood. Now, this style has also come to our Marathi films. Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Kolhapur Diaries‘ will be remake of Super hit Malayalam film ‘Angamaly Diaries‘. Recently, the first look of the lead actor of this film Bhushan Nanasaheb Patil was released on Digital media on the occasion of Bhushan’s birthday celebrations on 18th November. This look has received a lot of appreciation from Marathi film lovers.
Originally from Dhule, Maharashtra, Bhushan seems to be the perfect choice for this Marathi version and his selection for this role is already the topic of discussion. Joe Rajan who made his debut as a director through Bollywood film ‘Luv U Soniyo‘ few years ago is the director of this film and the film will be presented by Avadhoot Gupte. Now, it remains to be seen how this remake of Malayalam film will appeal to Marathi film lovers.

‘Mulshi Pattern’ questions urbanisation at the cost of farmers

For the past 10 years Pravin Tarde has successfully established himself as a writer through Marathi TV serials and films. In 2014 he shot into prominence as an actor and writer through the hit Marathi film ‘Rege’ and in 2015 he made his debut as a director, besides writer & actor through another hit film ‘Deool Band’. Therefore, there were great expectations from him in his latest film ‘Mulshi Pattern’ released this Friday. Pravin who has directed this film has also written and performed an important character of a Gangster Nanya bhai.
The film is about the effects of rapid development projects in Mulshi taluka in Pune district which forces a farmer’s son turn into a criminal. We are all aware through the statistics that Urbanisation is taking place at a faster rate in India and the count has increased from 11.4% to more than 30% in just 20 years. And therefore, before the start of the film the film maker makes it clear that it is not just the story of Mulshi but of our country as situation is the same everywhere in India.
The story of this film revolves around young Rahul (Om Butkar) son of a farmer Sakharam( Mohan Joshi). The father sells his land for a huge sum offered by a builder and gets his daughter married in a big way. He also buys a big car. But, it does not take much time for him to spend the money. Soon he finds his daughter back home and has to vacate his bigger house in the village. The family then migrate to nearby city for their earnings and the father works as a labourer in market yard. However, the son who keeps on blaming his father for making such a deal of his land, prefers the other track. He wants quick money and wins the confidence of Nanyabhay( Pravin Tarde) a gangster and soon takes his place by stabbing at his back.
Rahul soon spreads his network and starts taking revenge against the builders and industrialists who have acquired the lands of farmers . We notice a lot of violence with bloodshed in the process and the Police who are otherwise known in films for their encounter practice, when it comes to eliminating the criminals, use a different modus operandi in this film. They under the leadership of Police Officer kadu ( Upendra Limaye) use the strategy of ‘divide and rule‘ to see the end of all these criminals.
Though this film has a very good subject dealing with a social issue, the director has glorified all the criminals including his own character, taking the cinematic liberties. He has however, successfully conveyed the message that one cannot take the law into his hands. ‘As you sow, so shall you reap‘. In the climax scene you get the message. The entire film’s story is shown in parts through repeated flashbacks, as we notice the connection of the chase scene in the beginning where some hired killers running after Rahul to kill him. And this goes on for little more than 2 hours till the climax scene.
Technically, it is a very good film, with finest cinematography by Mahesh Limaye and good sound recording by Tushar Pandit. In the role of Rahul, Om Bhutkar is at his best. He has found a suitable role for his angry young man image in Marathi cinema and he has done justice to this role. Good performance also comes from Mohan Joshi who plays his father. Mahesh Manjrekar in the role of another labourer in Market yard has very limited scope. He plays the poor father of a young pretty girl Deepali ( Malvika Gaikwad) who sells tea in the Market yard and who loves Rahul for his brave acts of challenging the bulk purchasers from exploiting poor farmers. Among others, Kshitij Date as Rahul’s close friend and right hand, Sunil Abhyankar as criminal lawyer, Ajay Purkar as Shinde Builder, Upendra Limaye as Police Officer,Savita Malpekar as Rahul’s mother provide good support. In short, ‘Mulshi Pattern‘ questions urbanisation at the cost of farmers .Those who have liked the films like ‘Satya‘ in Hindi and ‘Rege‘ in Marathi may like this film, which is full of violence.
