Bhushan Pradhan scores boundary on Ultra Jhakaas OTT
Known for his fitness smart looks and solid performance in Marathi film industry, Bhushan Pradhan has scored a boundary of films on Ultra Jhakaas Marathi OTT platform. Till recently, Ultra Jhakaas have released Bhushan’s films like ‘Unn Savali’, ‘Fake Marriage’ and ‘Lagnakallol’. And now, on 17th May 2024 his latest film ‘Rangeet’ has been released with World Digital premiere on this platform.
It may be recalled that Bhushan’s characters like Pranay in ‘Unn Savali’, Mihir in ‘Fake Marriage’ and Atharva in ‘Lagnakallol‘ had impressed the OTT audience. Now, his latest character of Siddharth in ‘Rangeet’ is also well accepted. In all these four films he played variety of characters. Speaking about the success of his films, Bhushan says, “I am glad that my characters are well accepted by audience in all age group.”
‘Balumamachya Navan Changbhala’ to have a new look
For the past five years ‘Balumamachya Navan Changbhala’ serial on Colors Marathi presented Balumama in different forms during his childhood, young days and in his advancing age. And these stories received very good response from home viewers. Now, the makers of this serial will present all such stories of Balumama connected with his past, which were not yet known to the people.
Actually, in the new episodes viewers will get to see Balu Mama’s journey with his Guru Muley Maharaj when the villagers of Akkol village invite them to their village. At this place Balumama turns emotional in his advancing age and recollects some of his past experiences. And that’s how the new stories in the forthcoming episodes will be seen with a new look.
Child artiste Samarth Patil who had played Balumama during his childhood days, will make his comeback through this serial. Versatile artiste Prakash Dhotre will also play the lead role of Balumama. The new form of this serial is available from 20th May from 7.30 pm onwards on Colors Marathi channel.

‘Behind every successful man there is a woman’, as she is the one who lays a firm foundation with the bricks that others have thrown at her husband. And at the same time, ‘Behind every successful woman there is a man’, as he is the one who believed in his wife, when nobody else did. But, do you know that, ‘Behind every successful working woman there is a housemaid’. To find out the reason, you will have to watch the latest released Marathi film ‘Nach Ga Ghuma’.
Incidentally, Marathi cinema is known for offering some thought provoking subjects, which are targeted at mass audience. Today’s city lifestyle is such that every person in the house is dependent on others. And when you think about a working couple with their school going kid, their dependability is more on a sincere housemaid, who should be able to manage the house and their kid.
‘Nach Ga Ghuma’ directed by Paresh Mokashi presents two such working women who have sweet and sour relationship between them. They are, Rani ( Mukta Barve) and her housemaid – Ashatai ( Namrata Sambherao). In this film, we find a small family comprising of Anand (Sarang Sathye) and his wife Rani busy with their respective jobs. They have a 6 year old school going daughter Sayali alias Chiku ( Myra Vaikul). To manage the house and their little daughter, they hire the services of a housemaid for 12 hours a day. The family is so dependent on Ashatai that even her late arrival on duty by 15-30 mins, upsets their daily schedule. Especially, Rani who has to suffer the most, as she has to face the heat in office from her boss.
Director Paresh Mokashi has presented this interesting subject in an entertaining way in the first half. In the second half he tries to highlight the emotional attachment among all the characters with some interesting happenings, to keep the audience engaged. Though the climax in predictable, the film certainly succeeds in entertaining the audience, with wonderful performances from all the artistes. While Mukta, Sarang, Myra are at their best, the actress who steals the show is Namrata Sambherao. Through this film, she could offer not only comedy in which she is at her best, but also her emotional feelings very well. Sharmistha Raut, Madugandha Kulkarni , Sukanya Kulkarni, Supriya Pathak, Sunil Abhyankar have offered good support through their respective characters, while Swapnil Joshi and Lalit Prabhakar have little to do through their special appearance.
‘Nach Ga Ghuma’ is a well presented film with a good social message, offered by director Paresh Mokashi, who has also extracted the best out of all the artistes. He has received good support from music director Tanmay Bhide, cinematographer Sandeep GN Yadav and Faisal Mahadik with his perfect editing work. It’s a family entertainer. No wonder the film is still drawing good crowds at cinema theatres in the 2nd week. So, Don’t miss it.
Marathi Film ‘Malhar’ poster released with announcement
Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Malhar’ is all set for release on 31st May 2024. Besides Marathi, this film will also be released in Hindi. Recently, poster of this film was officially released when the release date of the film was also declared. This film presents three different stories, which are set on the backdrop of rural Kutch region in Gujarat.
Produced by Praful Pasad and directed by Vishal Kumbhar, this film stars Anjali Patil, Sharib Hashmi, Hrishi Saxena, Child artiste Srinivas Pokale along with Vinayak Poddar, Mohammed Samad, Akshat Acharya & Ravi Jhankal in lead roles. Speaking about his film, director Vishal Kumbhar said, “This film is set on the backdrop of a village and deals with subjects related to this village. Every character has his or her own tale. For the audience, this will be a new experiment. But, I m sure the audience will appreciate this film.”
multi-starrer ‘Juna Furniture’ will be the biggest attraction on 26th April
Only few days a ago the teaser launch function of the film ‘Juna Furniture’ was held in Shivaji Park. And everybody came to know about the presence of Mahesh Manjrekar in the lead role in this film. Now, the Poster of this film has been released on social media, in which we notice other artistes like Medha Manjrekar, Upendra Limaye, Bhushan Pradhan, Anusha Dandekar and Sachin Khedekar prominently seen besides Mahesh Manjrekar. The poster also shows the Court of law, Judge and some documents clearly indicating that the film is based on a legal battle.
The other artistes of this multi starrer film are Samir Dharmadhikari, Dr. Girish Oak, Vijay Nikam, Santosh Mijgar, Alka Parab, and Sharad Pokshe in important roles. This film will also present Shivaji Satam and Omkar Bhojane in special appearance. The story- screenplay and dialogues of this film are written by Mahesh Manjrekar besides directing this film. Yatin Jadhav has produced this film. According to Mahesh waman Manjrekar, this film has tried to show how strong is old furniture. The film shows the fight of a senior citizen for justice. There are many senior citizens who face injustice in their lives and this goes unnoticed. “I appeal to all the youngsters to watch this film along with their parents,” he added.

Dubbed South Film ‘Jailer’ to be premiered on Ultra Jhakaas Marathi
Based on reforming the criminals in Jail, South Indian Film ‘Jailer’ which is dubbed in Marathi, will now be premiered on Ultra Jhakaas Marathi OTT platform on 19th April 2024. Jailer Shantaram submits a proposal to the Government by selecting five criminals undergoing Jail sentence and taking them to a remote place and make them work as farmers to make that place green.
The Government accepts this unusual proposal on a condition that if these criminals commit a crime during this period, the Jailer will be required to resign from his job and will be sentenced to jail. The Kailer accepts this challenge . Now, whether the Jailer succeeds in his plan, the audience will come to know, after watching this film. But, one thing is sure that story of this film reminds us of V.Shantaram’s hit film of yesteryears ‘Do Ankhen Barah Haath’.

New Marathi film ‘Dharma-The AI Story’ is based on Artificial Intelligence
