Four Marathi films to be released simultaneously this week

Releasing three or four films together is not new to Marathi film industry. During the past few years we saw this happen and also witnessed how their business affected due to sharing of cinema halls and that too while competing with Hindi films. But that doesn’t seem to bother Marathi film makers. This Friday four Marathi films have announced their release simultaneously. So, only God knows what will be their fate in this competitive world.
‘Ek Sangaychay…Unsaid Harmony‘ starring Bollywood actor Kay Kay Menon and directed by Lokesh Gupte deals with a social issue, while writer director Girish Vishwanath presents an emotional bonding of a teenager with her pet dog through his film ‘Vanilla Strawberry and Chocolate‘. There is another film ‘Naal‘ on a sensible subject presented by National award winning film maker Nagraj Manjule , which is directed by Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti, while Avadhoot Gupte presented film ‘Gat Mat‘ directed by Nishit Shrivastava and based on youngsters also stands in the race.
Only last week we saw a Marathi biopic ‘Ani Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar‘ drawing full house at many theatres and even scoring over a big banner Hindi film. Therefore, this film is expected to continue with its success this week too. So, it remains to be seen how these four films will succeed in inviting audience at the cinema halls where they are released.
Bappida will sing for Sanjay Jadhav’s film ‘Lucky’

Renowned Music director and singer of Bollywood Bappi Lahiri, popularly known as Bappida has completed 45 years in this film industry. During 70s , 80s and 90s he offered some of the best compositions through various films. It may be recalled that a Marathi director Raja Thakur offered Bappida his first chance as a music director through his film ‘Zakhmee’ in 1975. In 1990 he made his debut as a music director in Marathi with the film ‘Dokyala Taap Nahi’.
Now, Bappida is returning to Marathi films after long time as a singer through Sanjay jadhav’s forthcoming Marathi film ‘Lucky’ in which he has rendered a song along with Vaishali Samant. Composed by Amit Raj, recording of this song took place recently. Overwhelmed by this gesture, music director Amit Raj felt that it was a big blessing for him. Speaking on the occasion Bappida said that he always wanted to be part of Marathi films, but could not find time due to his busy schedule in Hindi. Now, at Sanjay Jadhav’s request, he has been part of this film.
Amruta Khanvilkar’s special look

Since the time she made her debut in films 11 years ago, Amruta Khanvilkar has always remained in news for her variety of roles in Marathi as well as Hindi films simultaneously. As a dancer, she has also proved her ability through reality shows and films. As a judge for TV reality shows also she has done a good job. And now, we watch her perform on a popular old song in the film ‘Ani… Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar’ released during Diwali.

Trailer of Marathi film ‘Vanilla Strawberry & Chocolate’ released

No days we find unusual English titles for Marathi film. Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Vanilla, Strawberry & Chocolate’ is also one of them. Shot entirely on the backdrop of picturesque Hill station Matheran, this film presents the story of a small family of Babu Pawar which takes care of tourists by taking them for horse ride. One day a new member in the form of a pet Vanilla arrives in their family and film goes on to show the strong emotion filled relationship between babu’s daughter Teju and Vanilla.
Janaki Pathak who is playing the role of Teju is making her debut through this film. Besides the Pet dong Vanilla the film also stars Ravi Kale, Rajashree Nikam, Radhika Deshpande, Kshitij Deshpande & Vinod Jadhav. Presented by Dr. Sunil Nichlani, the film is scripted and directed by Girish Vishwanath. Girish has also penned the lyrics of this film, while music and background music is by Shantanu Nandan Herlekar According to the makers ‘Vanilla Strawberry & Chocolate’ is the first film which has been entirely shot at Matheran.

Raj Sarkar’s new Marathi film ‘Flicker’ promises quality production

Producer Raj Sarkar who proudly declares his love for Marathi language and his inspiration Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, has launched his new Marathi film ‘Flicker‘ which according to him will offer quality production. The shooting of this film has just started and Mr. Sarkar is paying personal attention to offer entertainment combined with glamour, so that not only Marathi audience but even Non Maharashtrian audience would appreciate it.
The film ‘Flicker‘ also presents Rajveer Sarkar a new star who will make his debut in Marathi films. Rajveer has already worked hard on his looks, physique and voice before entering this field. Directed by Amol Padave, the other highlights of this film are, South Music legend Ilaiya Raaja is composing music for this film with one song already recorded in the voice of ‘Kolavari fame.. Dhanush’. The film also stars Tanvi Kishore in the lead opposite Rajveer. The other artistes of this film are popular names like Sayaji Shinde, Sanjay Mone, Shubhangi Latkar, Pooja Pawar, Arun Kadam, Gaurav Ghatnekar, Manisha Kelkar, Mousami Tondvalkar, Vishakha Subhedar, Prabhakar More, Sayali Jadhav & Pratiksha Shirke. Cinematography by Udaysingh Mohite and art direction by Sandeep Rane are the other credits.
Will Aniket- Priyadarshan pair become hit in Marathi Films

Right from the time of 80s we have seen many pairs of heroes becoming hit because of their perfect timing for comedy. However, what the popularity of the pair Ashok Saraf – Laxmikant Berde achieved, no other pair has been able to do it. But, Marathi film makers have been attempting different combinations, to offer wholesome entertainment to the audience. Today, there are new subjects which can suit particular artistes.
We are all aware of the capabilities of actors Aniket Vishwasrao and Priyadarshan Jadhav. These two actors will be seen together in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Majhya Baikocha Priyakar‘, which is all set to release on 23rd November 2018. The makers of this film and director Rajeev S Ruia are confident about their pair and feel that both of them will offer best entertainment through this film and prove to be a hit pair.The film also stars Bhagyashree Mote, Priya Gamre, Anshuman Vichare, Bharat Ganeshpure, Padam Singh, Suresh Pillai, Swati Pansare and Anupam Takmoghe in other lead roles, to form a good team.
Rutwikk Kendre opts for South films

Rutwikk Kendre who began his acting career on small screen with ‘Manasicha Chitrakar’ later made his presence felt in Marathi stage and films. Only last month his film ‘Dry Day’ was released. Rutwik is presently shooting for his next film ‘Sargam’ But, besides this Marathi film, Rutwik who is the son of Marathi plays’ director Waman Kendre, is also opting for South films. According to reliable sources close to him, Rutwik is all set to make his debut in south films.
Rutwik is working very hard for his entry in south films. He is also being trained in martial arts, besides looking well after his fitness. Till now, no details are available about this film’s title etc. But, one thing is sure that his admirers are keen to know more about this film. Having received training at home since his childhood , Rutwik looks very confident while moving in all the three fields of acting, i.e. cinema, television and stage.
Ranveer Singh & Rohit Shetty celebrate Siddharth Jadhav’s birthday

At present Siddharth Jadhav is the only Marathi actor, who is in news in Hindi films. After being part of Rohit Shetty’s TV shows Comedy Circus and ‘Nach baliye-8′ Siddharth also performed in his films ‘Golmal’ and ‘Golmal Returns’. But now, Siddharth is also part of Rohit Shetty’s much talked about film ‘Simmba’ which has many Marathi characters. Even otherwise, Siddharth because of his friendly nature with the crew members, is very popular on the sets of the film. Even Rohit and Ranveer behave like his close friends on the sets of the film.
Recently, Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh surprised Siddharth Jadhav, with a grand celebration of his birthday in a very special way, to make it a memorable experience for our Marathi actor. Overwhelmed by this fine gesture, Siddharth reacted, “ I have been working in this entertainment industry since I was 13 years old. But till now, no one celebrated my birthday in this fashion. Zee Studios launch the trailer of Nagraj Manjule’s film ‘Naal’

After presenting out of the box successful films like ‘Sairat‘ and ‘Fandry‘, Zee Studios and Nagraj Manjule have come together once again to present their latest film ‘Naal‘, which is directed by Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti. The film is now all set to release on 16th November 2018. On Wednesday evening the trailer launch event of this film was held , when Nagraj Manjule along with his team and the CEO and Business head of Zee Studios namely Sharik Patel & Mangesh Kulkarni were present.
The story of ‘Naal‘ revolves around 8 year old Chaitanya and his kind hearted mother. Chaitanya’s father is a landlord in a remote village and therefore he meets all the demands of his beloved son. The film shows an unexpected turn in Chaitanya’s otherwise smooth moving journey of life. The film has been produced by a big team of producers including the director along with Mr. Nagraj Manjule. The story and screenplay and cinematography is by director Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti himself. Music by A.V.Prafulchandra and background music by Advait Nemlekar and the other credits. Srinivas Pokle plays the role of Chaitanya in this film, while the other lead artistes of this film are, Nagraj Manjule, Devika Daftardar, Seva Chavan, Deepti Devi & Om Bhutkar.
