Sai Tamhankar trurns owner of Pro kabaddi Kolhapur team

In many pro sports events we have seen Bollywood actresses like Priety Zinta, Shilpa Shetty involved in ownership of their respective teams in IPL Cricket. Then we have also seen Abhishek Bachchan owning football as well as Pro kabaddi teams. And now, for the first time a Marathi artiste has come forward to own a sports team. Yes, it is Sai Tamhankar who has purchased a team ‘Kolhapur Mavale‘ in the Maharshtra Kusti Dangal league. With Sai Tamhankar owning this team, the Kusti league will surely bring glamour to this sports.
Sai Tamhankar is the only woman to own a team in this pro Kusti league. Reacting to her new role, Sai says, ” I belong to a place like Sangli and hence I am well aware of the Kusti culture of neighbouring place Kolhapur. And I am well conversant with the moves of this game. My intention of buying a team is that no Kusti player should suffer because of finance. They also deserve good money.” Even otherwise, Sai is also Known for attempting something different and this is the best example.
Lokesh Gupte’s family is totally involved in ‘Ek Sangaychay – Unsaid Harmony’

We are all aware of Lokesh Gupte‘s acting and writing talent . But, through the forthcoming much talked about Marathi film, ‘Ek Sangaychay…Unsaid Harmony‘, besides writing and editing, Lokesh is also making his debut as a director. His wife Chaitrali a renowned actress has shouldered the responsibility of costume designing and above all, his daughter Shubhavi is making her debut in acting through this film. So, the entire family is totally involved in the making of this film, which stars Bollywood actor Kay Kay Menon in the lead role opposite Rajeshwari Sachdev.
The film also stars Milind Pathak, Ajit Bhure, Vineet Sharma, Shalv Kinjavadekar, Harshita Sohal, Vibhav Rajadhyaksha, Abhijit Aamkar, & Sachin Salvi in prominent roles. Speaking about her acting debut, Shubhavi said that she was aware that there was a character of her age in this film. “But, I never asked my father about it. One day, my father called me with that character name and I just smiled. Later, he asked me to give audition. Thereafter began my training. I had to read the script along with other artistes of this film and this helped me a lot during shooting, when the entire cast was very cooperative. At present, I am not sure, whether I would be taking up acting as my career. Therefore, will not be able to comment about my future plans. ”
Padmini Kolhapure to return to Marathi films after 14 years

Having won the Filmfare award at a very young age, Padmini Kolhapure had a very successful career in Bollywood as a big star during 80s and 90s. For ‘Insaf Ka Taraju‘ she won the best supporting actress award in 1981, while for ‘Prem Rog‘ she won the best actress Filmfare award, which was a big achievement. Padmini made her debut in Marathi films through ‘Chimni Pakhara‘ which was a hit film and also won her many popular awards. She is now doing Ashutosh Gowarikar’s next Hindi film ‘panipat‘ in lead role. But, at the same time she is returning to Marathi cinema, in lead role through Shashank Udapurkar’s next film ‘Pravas‘.
Padmini’s journey as an actress began as a child actress through the film ‘Ek Khiladi Bawan Patte‘ and thereafter she has not looked back. With films like ‘Ishq Ishq Ishq’, ‘Zindagi’, ‘Dream Girl’,’Sajan Bina Suhagan’, ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ and others, she soon matured into a young beautiful actress to perform in lead roles opposite big Bollywood actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Rishi kapoor, Rajesh Khanna, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Raj Babbar, Jitendra, Kumar Gaurav and others in several films. Few years ago, She also played Shahid kapoor’s mother in the film ‘Fata Poster Nikla hero‘. But besides acting with the help of her husband Tutu Sharma, she continues to produce Hindi, Marathi and other regional language films. In forthcoming Marathi film ‘Prawaas‘ Padmini is playing a totally different kind of lead role opposite Ashok Saraf and the shooting of this film is in progress at present.

Shubhangi Tambale finds all the attention after ‘Boyz-2’

We are all aware that ‘Boyz-2‘ which is the sequel of the last year’s film ‘Boyz‘ is a male dominated film. But unlike ‘Boyz’ which brought into popularity the three young boys in the film, the ‘Boyz-2‘ found all the attention towards female actress Shubhangi Tambale. She plays the role of Swati, whom the villain of the film calls Swati darling in almost all the scenes to their share.
According to the makers of this latest version of ‘Boyz‘, Shubhangi has turned out to be the ‘Queen of Hearts’ for the entire team of this film. Her popularity is rising day after day and for her entry in every scene, she receives huge response from young audience present in cinema hall. Reacting to her sudden popularity, Shubhangi says, ” While making this film, I had only thought that I am part of this big film and that I was playing a character, which will be remembered by the audience. But, I never expected such an overwhelming response from well wishers, who have been trying to reach me, only to convey their good wishes to me.”
‘Me Shivaji Park’ promises a Big Dhamaka during Dushera

We are all aware that Shivaji Park is a renowned landmark of South Central Mumbai. Over the years, this place has witnessed many big memorable events and happenings. For Senior Citizens and especially the morning walkers this place is very much close to their hearts. It is at this place they spend their best time of the day, sharing their thoughts in their group. So, it will be interesting to watch one such happening which we presume a fiction, on Big screen coming Friday.
Incidentally, ‘Dushera‘ is also coinciding with the release of this film and hence the film promises a Big Dhamaka on this auspicious occasion. With the trailer of this film called ‘Me Shivaji Park‘ now unveiled, it gives some idea of an interesting theme of this film, which revolves around five friends played by Vikram Gokhale, Satish Alekar, Ashok Saraf, Shivaji Satam & Dilip Prabhavalkar who are all versatile actors and there are also other talented artistes like Sharad Ponkshe, Uday Tikekar forming the star cast of this film, which is directed by award winning film maker Mahesh Waman Manjrekar.

Ankush Chaudhari to announce ‘Shree Swami Samarth’ film on Dushera day

After his two films ‘Tee Saddhya Kaay Karte‘ and ‘Deva‘ last year, we haven’t heard anything about Ankush Chaudhari, who was No. 1 actor of Marathi film industry during the year 2015 with hit films like ‘Classmates‘, ‘Double Seat‘, ‘Dagadi Chawl‘ and ‘Guru‘. For the past one year, we haven’t heard about him, which was surprising. Why only Ankush, we haven’t heard about few other Marathi film artistes and their films, who have returned to small screen now.
But now, we understand that on the auspicious Dushera day he will be making his appearance before the media, to make announcement of Sameer Ramesh Surve’s next film ‘Shree Swami Samarth‘, which is based on the life of Shree Swami Samarth. We are not aware whether Ankush will be playing the lead role in this film. For that we will have to wait till the official announcement on Dushera day
Is Subodh Bhave No.1 actor of Marathi films today ?

With more than 50 films and 27 TV serials to his credit, Subodh Bhave is certainly an actor to reckon, when it comes to popularity. He has been active with the Marathi film industry since 2005. And he is still going on adding more films to his account that too in lead roles. With ongoing serial ‘Tula Pahate Re‘ and upcoming biopic ‘Ani Kashinath Ghanekar‘ Subodh is certainly at popularity heights. At the age of 40, this is certainly creditable. Why can’t we call him No. 1 actor of Marathi films today?
Having successfully performed in biopics like ‘Lokmanya‘ and ‘Balgandharva‘, he had become the first choice of film makers opting for Biopics. No wonder, he was selected to play the title role in ‘Aani Kashinath Ghanekar‘. An actor with stage background Subodh has really worked hard to move to this top position. An actor par excellence, he has played variety of roles in different films. Best thing about him is that he has not been part of any controversy. A polished actor that he is, Subodh Bhave has also maintained good relationship with others, being a soft spoken gentleman.
Producer Amol Kagne to make his acting debut through ‘Monsoon Football’

Having been associated as a producer , assistant director and presenter with films like ‘Halaal‘, ‘Lathe Joshi‘, ‘31 October‘ & ‘Perfume‘, Amol Kagne is all set to make his acting debut through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Monsoon Football‘ directed by Milind Ukey. In this film, Amol will be playing a Gujarati husband of one of the women football lovers, who are all housewives and play this game in traditional Indian sarees.
Besides Amol Kagne, the film has strong star cast comprising of Sagarika Ghatge, Chitrashi Rawat, Vidya Malavade, Delnaz Irani & Usha Naik. Amol Kagne has worked very hard for this role. With the help of his make up man he learnt Gujarati language and accent and also increased his weight by 6 kgs. Director Milind Ukey is also impressed by the efforts taken by this producer turned actor and was also all praise for his performance in this film.
Amol has studied Theatre art from Lalit Kala Kendra of Pune University and till now he has produced 26 plays and 4 films.
Grand music & Trailer launch of ‘Ek Sangaychay…Unsaid Harmony’

We are all aware that Bollywood actor Kay Kay Menon is making his debut in Marathi films through forthcoming film ‘Ek Sangaychay…Unsaid Harmony‘, which is directed by Lokesh Gupte. Yesterday evening there was grand music & trailer launch of this film, in presence of artistes of the film and invitees. Along with Kay Kay Menon, Rajeshwari Sachdev who has already worked in Marathi films, will be playing the lead role.
With lyrics by Jitendra Joshi and music by Shailendra Barve, the songs in this film are rendered by popular singers Avadhoot Gupte, Bela Shende, Tushar Joshi, Vivek Naik, Aarti Kelkar & Rashi Harmalkar. With Cinematography by Pushpank Gawde, costumes by Chaitrali Gupte the other artistes of this film are, Padmavati Rao, Milind Phatak, Ajit Bhure, Vineet Sharma, Shalva Kinjavadekar, Harshita Sohal, Shubhavi Gupte, Vibhav Rajadhyaksha, Abhijit Aamkar & Sachin Salvi.
Speaking on the occasion, Kay Kay Menon said that when the story of this film was narrated to him, it took just 20 minutes for him to say ‘Yes’ to this role. “Having lived in Maharashtra I can understand Marathi language well, but when this role came to me, I took a lot of interest in learning this language so that I can speak well too. Director Lokesh Gupte helped me a lot,” said Kay Kay Menon. Official announcement was also made about the film’s release date, which is 16th November 2018.
