Hair ordered from Tirupati for wig in the film ‘Bhaai – Part-2′
A proper wig helps to give a perfect look of the character played by the actor. And when the character is of a famous person, then a lot of care is to be taken to give a realistic look. Surendra Salvi and Jitendra Salvi of Natural Hair Studio who had designed the wig for Sagar Deshmukh, in part I of the film ‘Bhaai’ had also taken a big challenge to design the wig for the 60+ look of Pu La Deshpande in Part 2 of ‘Bhai’. And for that they had to order hair from Tirupati to design this special wig.
Incidentally, Salvi brothers had also designed the wig of Nawazuddin Siddiqui for the film ‘Thackeray’ Speaking about their latest challenge of designing the wig for Sagar’s older look to resemble with that of Pu La during his 60+ age, Jitendra Salvi said, “Designing the wig of Sagar while playing Pu La during his young age, wasn’t that difficult, but designing a wig for person’s 60+ age was a difficult task. During the older age, the hair tend to become thinner and even the roots are noticed. If you had seen the photos of Bhaai during the older age, you will agree that his hair were curly. And therefore to show the hair on upper side, we had to shave off the front portion of hair of forehead of the lead actor.”
Anyway, ‘Bhaai – Part-2′ is all set to release on Friday and therefore there is a lot of curiosity to see how his older look is presented using this special wig for Sagar Deshmukh, who is playing his character.

‘Dhappa’ highlights importance of national integration through entertainment

Today’s children will be responsible citizens of tomorrow. And therefore their proper grooming is very important. Besides learning the right things from school it is necessary for the children to find good company in the neighborhood to socialize in a right manner. For this, they need to take active part in extra curricular activities, instead of getting addicted to mobiles and computer games. Writer Girish Kulkarni who is also producer of new Marathi film ‘Dhappa‘ with the help of director Nipun Dharmadhikari has offered a sensible film on this subject, which revolves around a group of children living in a housing society in the city of Pune.
Though some of the children are mischievous and are involved in their regular fights over petty issues, they have strong bonding developed among them, with the efforts taken by one of the resident Anuradha Deodhar (Vrushali Kulkarni) whose little daughter is also part of this group of children. The children call her Anuradha tai . There are also two mature children namely Surhud (Aakash Kamble) who is suffering from neuromuscular disease and Sharvi ( Sharvi Kulkarni) who sorts out all their problems and keeps them together. Surhud who rides an automatic wheel chair is respected by the children and is addressed by them as Hawkya( Short name of Well Known British Physicist Stephen Hawking).
The story of this film begins when Anu tai plans to present a play of these children based on human evolution and environment during the community Ganapati festival and they begin their planning. Initially, some children are reluctant to perform because of the subject instead of their favourite mythology. But, the creative Anu tai with the help of Surhud and Sharvi incorporate such characters to make it more interesting from their point of view but without changing the theme. When the news about their play reaches the leader of a political party of their area through one of the residents, he with the help of his goons threatens Anu tai and the children, to keep away from performing this play. How these children face this challenge and how they unite to show their strength is what the second part of this 1 hour 55 minute long film is all about.
Writer Girish Kulkarni and director Nipun Dharmadhikari have really worked hard to counter the existing social terrorism which comes in the way of National Integration. Very cleverly they have selected little children to convey this timely message to the society in an entertaining way. Watch the code language used by the children while communicating among themselves to maintain secrecy, which is the best part of the film. Every scene in this film is well planned and the entire team seems to have worked hard in its management. Also each and every character has a special significance in the screenplay, including the children of society watchman who are treated on par with other children by sensible society residents. The inclusion of characters like Soman kaka( Chandrakant Kale) and Mohite Aaji ( Jyoti Subhash) generate a lot of humour with their presence through few scenes.
Besides the group of talented children, there are few other versatile artistes like Sunil Barve, Irawati Harshe, Shrikant Yadav, Umesh Jagtap, Chhaya Kadam, Girish Kulkarni and others, who have contributed sincerely towards an excellent presentation of this timely subject. Suitable Music by Gandhaar, fine cinematography by Swapnil Sonavane and apt editing by Suchitra Sathe are the other plus points of this creative film. Don’t look at this film as a children’s film. All in all It is a worth watch film for all.
Four Marathi films to release simultaneously on 1st February
The production of Marathi films is on the rise in this new year too. The release of four Marathi films simultaneously on 1st February is the best example growing competition among Marathi film makers. And they have been using different marketing strategies to attract audience to the theatres. Eros International and Everest Entertainment are the two big banners behind presentation of cricket based film ‘Me Pan Sachin‘ which is written and directed by Shreyas P Jadhav, who has himself played cricket at the state level. In this male dominated film Swapnil Joshi, Abhijeet Khandkekar and Priyadarshan Jadhav play lead roles along with Kalyanee Muley, Anuja Sathe, Suhita Thatte & Avinash Narkar.
‘Sarva Line Vyasta Aahet‘ seems to be a comedy based entertaining film with a team of five girls along with lead artistes Siddharth Jadhav and Saurabh Gokhale. Produced by Amol Shiram Utekar and directed by Pradeep Raghunath Mestry will this film present a Bollywood style comedy or will have its own originality, remains to be seen this Friday. Pramod Prabhulkar and Madhurani Prabhulkar who run their Miracles acting academy, will be presenting their next film ‘Youth Tube‘ which deals with an important timely subject which questions today’s parents, social media is distancing their children from them? The film has offered scope to 300 students from their acting academy. The fourth film which is also releasing on Friday is Nipun Dharmadhikari‘s national award winning film ‘Dhappa‘ which was judged as the best film on national integration. Involvement of Girish Kulkarni as producer and supporting actor in this film in the company of a group talented children and some versatile artistes is the highlight of this film.
‘Chhatrapati Shasan’ in Maharashtra from 15th March
Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Chhatrapati Shasan‘ is a strong message to those directionless youth misleading others in the name of caste, religion and regions. According to the makers i.e. producers Utkarsh Kudale, Priyanka Kagale, Khushal Mhetre and writer-director Khushal Mhetre, the film will present the real views of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Recently, the poster launch of ‘Chhatrapati Shasan‘ film was held in presence of guests and special invitees. The muhurat of film’s shooting was performed by Spot Dada Yogesh Markad from the unit.
The film stars Makarand Deshpande, Kishore Kadam, Santosh Juvekar, Abhijeet Chavan, Prashant Mohite, Anil Nagarkar in lead roles with the support of other artistes like Sayali Kale, Dhanashree Yadav, Kiran Kore, Sayali Paradkar, Ramachandra Dhumal, Vishnu Kedar, Rahul Belapurkar, Parag Shah, Prathamesh Joshi, Shreyaschandra Gaikwad, Abhay Mishra & Milind Jadhav. Highlight of the film is that a team of Nandesh Umap, Rohit Nagbhide, Sachin Avghade, Abhijeet Jadhav & Rajan Saravade have composed the music of this film.
Saleel Kulkarni to make his debut in direction through ‘Wedding Cha Shinema’
Singer-Music director Saleel Kulkarni will now be seen in the role of a director through forthcoming Marathi film ‘Wedding Cha Shinema‘, which is all set for release all over Maharashtra on 12th April 2019. Having been successful in the field of music, his admirers are having big expectations from his direction too. Teaser of this film was released recently. In this teaser you will hear a voice which makes an appeal to come for that person’s uncle’s wedding with a request ‘not to miss the lunch’.
Presented by Everest Entertainment, this film stars Mukta Barve, Bhau Kadam, Shivaji Satam, Alka Kubal-Athalye, Sunil Barve, Ashwini Kalsekar, Pravin Tarde, Sankarshan Karhade, Prajakta Hanamghar, Yogini Pofale in lead roles along with new pair of Shivraj Waichal & Rucha Inamdar. Besides direction Saleel Kulkarni has also written the script of ‘Wedding Cha Shinema‘ film and also composed the music. The film is produced by Gheru and PESB.
‘Thackeray’ film presents the strong influence of charismatic Balasaheb

Balasaheb Thackeray was the most powerful and charismatic leader in Maharashtra who controlled his political party Shiv Sena in such a way that the party was voted to power not only in Mumbai Municipal Corporation but also during the Assembly elections. Under his leadership the party also won Parliamentary elections in most parts of Maharashtra, this spreading its strength at National level. But, the young generation is not aware of Balasaheb’s entry into politics during his younger days, when as a Cartoonist he worked in Free Press Journal as a cartoonist.
In the biopic ‘Thackeray’ released on Friday 25th January, we find the legend’s journey right from the days, when he launched his own weekly ‘Marmik’ in early 60s . Well, everybody knows that the popularity of this weekly and the hard hitting views in the interest of local people expressed by him as a firebrand journalist, influenced the people from Maharashtra. In the film we find all these happenings but interestingly the story of birth and evolution of Shiv Sena has been clearly shown how a Congress CM saw the end of rising pressure of Leftists by indirectly supporting Shiv Sena.
Actually, the film covers the journey of Balasaheb’s rising popularity from early 60s till 1994 when he was questioned in the court about his role in Ayodhya dispute. And therefore, we find his interactions with many political leaders right from Mr. Y.B. Chavan, who was then CM of Maharashtra during early 60s, followed by his successor Vasantrao Naik, PM Indira Gandhi and many others. His style of functioning and his trust in his close associates has been clearly shown through many important scenes. Hence we find the characters of his trusted leaders like Datta Nalawade, Wamanrao Mahadik, Dattaji Salvi, Manohar Joshi and few others getting importance in the film. At the same time, we find his friendly relations with his political rivals Mr. Sharad Pawar and George Fernandes. However, characters of important leaders who were earlier close to him and later ditched him, have been conveniently avoided in this film. Instead the film presents the strong influence of charismatic Balasaheb, taking right decisions at the right time and standing by his words.
Writer Sanjay Raut and director Abhijit Panse have accordingly paid more attention on his body language, style of delivering his speeches and his belief in himself and his soldiers whom he addressed as Sainiks. This has offered better scope to Nawazuddin Siddiqui to show his skills and he has done full justice to his role. Amrita Rao in the role of his wife Meena Tai Thackeray suits very well in that character . Many versatile artistes offer excellent support through their respective character roles, though they have limited scope. Music by team of Amar Mohile, Rohan-Rohan, Sandeep Shirodkar goes well with the film’s screenplay. Cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee is also impressive. Though at some places in the screenplay, it gives a look of a documentary, all in all it is a well presented film.

प्रजासत्ताक दिनी ‘डोंबिवली रिटर्न‘ या चित्रपटाचा नायक अनंत वेलणकर अर्थात संदीप कुलकर्णी यांची डोबिंवली रेल्वे स्टेशनवर झालेल्या ध्वजारोहण सोहळ्यामध्ये विशेष उपस्थिती लाभली होती. चित्रपटाचे लेखक दिग्दर्शक महेंद्र तेरेदेसाई निर्माते महेंद्र अटोले डोंबिवली रेल्वे स्टेशनचे स्टेशन मास्तर, सहायक स्टेशन मास्तर, रेल्वे प्रवाशी संघटना, जनरल रेल्वे पोलीस, रेल्वे प्रोटेक्शन फोर्स, उपस्थित होते.
नियतीने जशा गोष्टी जुळून येतात तसा योग खरंतर आज जुळून आलाय. माझ्या माध्यम आणि सिनेमाच्या निमित्ताने डोंबिवलीशी माझा जवळचा संबंध आहे.माझे मित्र नातेवाईक ही डोंबिवली मध्ये राहतात. आजचा हा दिवस अभिमान, कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करण्याचा आहे.

‘Shiva – Ek Yuva Yoddha’ music and trailer launched
The music and trailer of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Shiva – Ek Yuva Yoddha‘ was launched recently in presence of media persons and other dignitaries recently. There are five different types of songs in this film composed by Aditya Bedekar. Other highlights of this film are, acting debut of Sr. Mr. Asia –Siddhant More, who is a great admirer of bodybuilder and actor Rock Arnold. And also, debut of ‘I’ movie fame Kamraj from South into Marathi films.
The six foot 1 inch tall Siddhant possesses a very good physique . After winning the Sr. Mr. Asia title he worked hard for the past 4 years to prepare for his role in this film. All the stunt scenes have been performed by him in this film. Even the award winning writer on Sports and health Mr. Sanjay More has taken two and a half year time to write the script of this film.
Besides Siddhant the other lead stars of the film are, Tanvi Hegde, Yogita Chavan, Milind Gunaji, Yogesh Meher, Sunil Godbole, Prakash Dhotre, Shobhana Dandge, Jeet More, Babasaheb Saudagar and South Superstar Kamraj. The film is ready for release on 15th February 2019.
