Tanvi Hegde starring ‘Alipt’ all set to release on this friday
With the reopening of theatres many Marathi film makers are taking a chance to release their films next month. But, the Producer of Marathi film ‘Alipt’ (अलिप्त ) has decided to release his film in theatres all over Maharashtra on 29th October 2021. Directed by Manoj Sudhakar Yerunkar the film stars Tanvi Hegde in the lead role opposite Swapnil Prakash Jadhav who has written the script of this film, including dialogues. It may be recalled that Tanvi whom we had seen as a child artiste in many Hindi and Marathi films, is better known for her role in ‘Sonpari’ TV serial.
Talking about her role in this film, Tanvi says that she accepted this film, as she liked her character in the story and the plot of the film narrated to her by the director. “It was different from other plots. As the title of the film reveals,the past takes birth again is a very vital tag and is in alignment with the plot of the film. It was a great and happy experience I had while working with Swapnil and other artistes in the film.” she added.
Along with Tanvi and Swapnil the film also stars Sharayu Sonavane, Bhushan Ghadi, Sunil Dev, Sushant Shelar and others.
Baahubali in Marathi will be special Diwali release on Shemaroo MarathiBana
Shemaroo MarathiBana, the Marathi movie TV channel, have announced a Special Diwali treat for their Marathi viewers, with the Marathi version of the blockbuster action epic franchise, ‘Baahubali’. The film will be aired on 4th November exclusively on Shemaroo MarathiBana. Highlight of this Marathi version is that leading artistes of Marathi film and theatre Dr. Amol Kolhe, Pravin Tarde, Sonalee Kulkarni, Gashmeer Mahajani, Uday Sabnis, Sanskruti Balgude, and other popular artists have lent their voices to the eponymous characters. So, with their voices, ‘Baahubali’ will come to life in Marathi ensuring a rare treat this Diwali .
Further, to give it a perfect Marathi look, Shemaroo have paid attention on Marathi songs with the help of . Famed Marathi music director, Kaushal Inamdar , who has recreated the tracks without losing the classical instrumentation and gravitas of the original, while popular singers Hamsika Iyer, Avadhoot Gupte, Sanjeev Chimmalgi, Bela Shende, Adarsh Shinde, Hrishikesh Kamerkar, Ketki Mategavkar and Mugddha Karhade have lent their voices to the melodious songs. Title song of ‘Jhimma’’ well received on social media
When the Teaser of the forthcoming Marathi film was released, it received very good response on social media. Now, the title song of this film ‘Khelu Jhimma Ga…’ released on social media is also well received. This song has been pictured on a group of women from different age groups and different fields come together for their enjoyment during their tour to England. The song reminds all those women about their friendship and picnic days.
The song has been rendered by singers Vaishali Samant, Mugdha Karhade, Aarti Kelkar and Suhas Joshi on the music of Amitraj. Produced by Amey Vinod Khopkar Entertainment and Crazy Few Films, presented by Chalchitra Company , this film directed by Hemant Dhome is all set for release on 19th November 2021. Along with Siddharth Chandekar the film stars a big group of women comprising of Nirmitee Sawant, Suhas Joshi, Suchitra Bandekar, Kshiti Jog, Sonalee, Sayali Sanjeev, Mrunmayee Godbole in lead roles. Marathi film ‘Jayanti’ to release on 12th Nov instead of 26th Nov
Makers of Marathi film ‘Jayanti’ (जयंती ) who had announced the release of their film on 26th November faced the challenge from Bollywood big budget film ‘Antim’ starring Salman Khan and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. Actually, ‘Jayanti’ had booked their release date eight weeks in advance, but after noticing recently that Salman Khan’s film ‘Antim’ is also releasing on the same date, the makers of ‘Jayanti’ have decided to release their film early i.e. on 12th November 2021.
The decision seems to be wise, as in the past we have seen what happens to a Marathi film , if released with big banner Hindi film. Finding sufficient screens is the big problem. If the makers of ‘Jayanti’ had decided to postpone their film’s release by a week it would have clashed with the release of another Marathi film ‘Godavari’ . If they had decided to release a week before, it would have clashed with another Marathi film ‘Jhimma’. So, finally they decided to release their film on 12th November , which is now confirmed through the official poster of their film released on social media.
As a result, they will have less time for publicity , but the fresh lead pair of Ruturaj Wankhede and Titiksha Tawde will be a big attraction for Marathi film lovers.
Teaser poster of ‘A Fakta Tuch’ launched in Pune
Popular television artistes Chinmay Udgirkar and Suruchi Adarkar are working together for the first time in a Marathi film ‘A Fakta Tuch’ (A फक्त तूच), teaser poster of which was launched recently. The ceremony took place in presence of the artistes and technicians at Dagdusheth Ganapati temple when the blessings of the Lord were taken during the teaser launch. Produced by Jaideep Film Productions, this film is written and directed by Ranganath Baban Pachange. The film’s shooting will begin from the month of November 2021.
Teaser poster of this film is attractive with a tagline below the title indicating .. ‘karan aapla nata vegala aahe… (कारण आपलं नातं वेगळं आहे… )’ This also suggests that it will be a romantic film. Screenplay and dialogues are written by Praful S Charpe while cinematography is by Ranjit Mane and art direction by Sagar Gaikwad. Besides Chinmay and Suruchi in the lead, the other artistes of this film are, Madhuri Pawar, Shilpa Thakre, Tejaswini Shirke, Hrushikesh Wamburkar, Geeta Nikharge . World Food day reminds us of Marathi film titles inspired by food items
World Food day is celebrated across the world perhaps introducing new food recipes for food lovers. But, that reminds us as to what our Marathi film makers have offered to the viewers, after being inspired by food items to name the titles of their films. It all began in 50s, when a film with the title ‘Shevgyachya Shenga’ directed by Shantaram Athavale was released starring Baby Nanda , Sumati Gupte and others. Besides winning the National award for best Marathi film, the film had also entered the Cannes Festival, raising the curiosity of World audience as to what relevance the nutritious Drumsticks had with this film’s story.
In 80s we saw Producer director V.K.Naik offering a film with the name ‘Khichadi’ perhaps trying to show the relevance of this recipe with the human life. Thereafter, for a long period, there were no titles of Marathi films related to any food items. But, since 2009 we have seen many films using the titles derived from food items. ‘Ek Cup Chya’ released by producer Yeshwant Oak and directed by Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukhtankar, had used a cup of tea normally a symbol of hospitality, as a metaphor for a bribe. The film was based on the RTI act.
Then we saw the film ‘Masala’ (Movie review) produced by Girish Kulkarni and directed by Sandesh Kulkarni, when we saw how a couple running away from moneylenders, from one place to other, after failing in different attempted business meet the right people to add that required flavour required in their life. There were many other films which we saw later, with the names ‘Murambba’, ‘Gulabjaam’ ‘Restaurant’, ‘Coffee Ani Barach Kahi, ‘Khari Biscuit’ ‘Jai Maharashtra Dhaba Bhatinda’, ‘Haapus’ and others which were able to deliver what the respective film makers had in their mind behind using these titles.
‘Kaasav’ shows the way to overcome depression with a purpose in life

Renowned director duo Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukhtankar made 17 Marathi films together and won various national and international accolades for their previous films like ‘Doghi’,‘Dahavi Fa’ , ‘Vastupurush’,‘Devrai’, ‘Samhita’ and ‘Astu’ (movie review). Two of these films were based on mental illness such as Schizophrenia and Alzimer’s disease. And they presented these two subjects very skilfully handling the subject with the support of Dr. Mohan Agashe himself a Psychiatrist, who was part of both these films.
In ‘Kaasav’ (कासव) we saw Dr. Mohan Agashe contributing in the form of a producer along with the film maker duo Bhave and Sukhtankar. This film has won the National award for the best feature film at the 64th National Film awards. Unfortunately, this film could not be released in a big way in theatres like other Marathi films, but was released recently on Sony Liv OTT platform, which has made it possible to reach out to the Marathi film lovers scattered all over the world.
‘Kaasav’ truly stands to the appreciation it received during the Golden Lotus National award for best feature film. The film’s story is presented in a beautiful cinematic way, to show the relevance of the issues of depression suffered by the youngster (Alok Rajwade) in the film, in relation to the life and nesting cycle of Olive Ridley Sea Turtles, being researched by Janaki (Iravati Harshe) a middle aged divorcee, who herself consults a psychologist for her panic attacks.
Shot at the beautiful beach location of Devgad in Sindhudurg district, the film captures some realistic moments to show, how this middle aged woman tries to treat the depressed youngster, by understanding his problems with the help of a local doctor. There are few other important characters in the form Yadu( Kishore Kadam) driver cum cook of Janaki, Dattabhau (Mohan Agashe) a local, who is working on an olive ridley sea turtles conservation project, Devika Daftardar ( short appearance) playing the step mother of the depressed youngster and others with their perfect Malvani accent, who provide very good support.
Beautiful cinematography by Dhananjay Kulkarni captures the beauty of Devgad beach, while Saket Kanetkar’s music provides good support to this artistic film with a timely message of showing the purpose of living life to a depressed youngster. Perfect editing by Mohit Takalkar has made this 104 minutes length film look very interesting. But, the overall credit goes to the director duo Sumitra Bhave – Sunil Sukhtankar for handling this difficult subject brilliantly with the help of Dr. Mohan Agashe, who has contributed his bit as an actor, but more as a producer. Certainly a worth watch film for all.

(Adish Vaidya) आदिश वैद्यच्या अचानक घरामध्ये झालेल्या वाइल्ड कार्ड एंट्रीमुळे आता घरातील रहिवाशी संघाची काय प्रतिक्रिया असेल ? घरामध्ये कोणते रंजक वळण येईल ? घरातील नाती त्याच्या एंट्रीमुळे बदलणार का ? कोणत्या गृपचा आदिश सदस्य होणार ? कि तो त्याचा गृप तयार करणार ? कि स्वत:चा खेळ स्वतंत्रपणे खेळणार ? हे बघणे रंजक असणार आहे.
आदिशने घरातील सदस्यांबद्दल बोलताना म्हणाला, “बिग बॉस मराठीच्या घरामध्ये प्रत्येकजण आपल्या पध्दतीने खेळायचा प्रयत्न करतो आहे. माझा आवडता सदस्य विकास पाटील आहे. काही बाबतीत मी त्याला रिलेट करू शकतो. जय, विशाल (टास्कच्या बाबतीत) आणि मीनल हे तीन सदस्य स्ट्रॉंग प्रतिस्पर्धी आहेत असं मला वाटत. वाईल्ड कार्ड एंट्रीद्वारे घरामध्ये गेलेले स्पर्धक कधी जिंकले नाही पण मी घरामध्ये लवकर जात आहे तर ही चांगली गोष्ट आहे.”
