Siddharth Jadhav back in action in spite of injury
IPL Cricket is about to begin and so is the Cricket tournament of Marathi Entertainment industry. Siddharth Jadhav who is leading one of the teams in this Cricket tournament, was seen practising hard for this tournament. Unfortunately his left hand thumb got injured during the practice match and had four stitches. But, the enthusiastic cricketer received treatment for the same and is now seen back in action. Such is the craze of Cricket observed in Siddharth. For him, ‘The show must go on’.
Besides acting, Siddharth is very passionate about the game of Cricket. He has already expressed his love for this game on his social media page in the past. Recalling his craze for Cricket , he narrates his experience when for the first time he saw the live match with Sachin batting in that match. So, the energy comes from Sachin, whom we recently saw playing for India Seniors in the World Masters Cricket League. We hope that he recovers soon to watch him score many boundaries and sixers while leading his team to victory.
‘Chava’ bravery tales of Sambhaji Maharaj in 3 D Animated form
Sambhaji Maharaj was the second ruler of the Maratha Kingdom. He was the eldest son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj , the founder of the Maratha Empire. Sambhaji Maharaj was successor of the realm after his father’s death, and ruled it for nine years, like a brave king and his bravery acts against Mughal Empire and neighbouring powers such as Siddis, Mysore and the Portugese in Goa are recorded in History. Now, a 3 D Animation film ‘Chava’ is being made on the b ravery tales of Sambhaji Maharaj by Bhavesh Praductions and Sharkfin Productions.
Directed by Bhavesh Patil , the poster of this animated film was released recently by makers of this film Bhavesh Patil and Rutudhwaj Deshpande. Lyrics by Samir Nerkekar, Music by Prem Kotwal and Sound design by Sanket Dhotkar anre other credits of this film. The intention of making this film in 3D animated form is to inspire the new generation about the bravery acts of Sambhaji Maharaj.
Reshma Sonawane & Haridas kad present new Marathi song ‘Jawani 20′
Saptasur Music along with Filmy Owl Studios will be presenting a new Marathi Music video on their Youtube channel. The song ‘Mala Nhay Ra Kunachi Guarantee, Majhi Haay Re Jawani 20..’is rendered by popular singer Reshma Sonawane who has joined the lyrics of Haridas Kad for this song. It may be recalled that after the success of super hit ‘Paapi De Parula..’ both of them have come together this song, which is also expected to be a super hit. Besides, ‘Paapi De Parula..’ song Reshma has given other popular songs like ‘Hi Poli Sajuk Tupatli..’ & ‘Vaat Baghtoy Rikshawala’, while Haridas Kad has penned ‘Lai Bhari Pori’ besides ‘Pappi De’ song.

Shital Ahirrao, Abhijit shoot for love song ‘London Cha Raja….’
Now days, Single video songs are becoming very popular. One such Love song video was shot on Shital Ahirrao and Abhijeet Shwetchandra by Prajakta Film Productions recently at picturesque Alibag. The love song shot on this pair is titled ‘London Cha Raja … Italichi Rani…’ which is different for many reasons. Both the artistes have performed naturally to fill in the required expressions through their performances. Who will play the ‘Phulrani’ on Marathi big screen
‘Phulrani’ has been a very popular character over the years on Marathi stage. First it was late Bhakti Barve who presented this character on Marathi stage through the play ‘Ti Phulrani’ written by late P. L. Deshpande which was based on G.B. Shaw’s old famous English play ‘Pygmalion’. We had also seen an American Musical film ‘My Fair Lady’ also based on this English play. And now, Director Vishwas Joshi is all set to begin the shoot of a Marathi film ‘Phulrani …. Avismaraniya Premkahani’ which is also inspired by ‘Pygmalion’. This will be Vishwas Joshi’s second film as a director after ‘Whats App Lagna’.
Recently, the poster of this film was unveiled making official announcement of this film. This film will release its fragrance in theatres this year. The film’s story is written by Guru Thakur along with Vishwas Joshi, while lyrics are penned by Balkavi and Guru Thakur together. Nilesh Moharir will compose music of this film with cinematography by Kedar Gaikwad. Art direction by Santosh Phutane, editing by Guru Patil , choreography by Subhash Nakashe, dress design by Sayali Soman are the other credits of this film. So far, the lead cast of this film has not been disclosed. And therefore, there is a lot of curiosity to know who will play the ‘Phulrani’ on Marathi big screen?
More awards for Marathi film ‘Prawaas’
Actor and film maker Shashank Udapurkar is a happy man today. He was lucky to find his film’s release and success thereafter in theatres last year, before the lockdown began by end of March 2020. Now, he is enjoying more fruits from his film’s success at different international and National film festivals. Recently, at the seventh Rajasthan International film festival held at Mehrangad Fort ,Jodhpur Shashank Udapurkar won the best director award besides his film ‘Prawaas’ (movie review) winning the Special Jury award for best regional film. The film’s producer Om Changani also won the Pride of Rajasthan award for the selection of ‘Prawaas’at the IFFI 2020 .
Reacting to this big success, director- actor Shashank Udapurkar said, “It was a big honour to screen this film to conclude this festival and the standing ovation given by the audience after watching this film, was more than an award.” ‘Prawaas’ has also been selected for screening at the Trichur International film festival in Kerala. So, there are many more awards expected to come. The film stars popular Marathi artistes like Ashok Saraf, Padmini Kolhapure, Vikram Gokhale, Shreyas Talpade and Shashank Udapurkar.
Ankit Mohan in and as ‘Babu’
Only few days ago krupa Productions released the first poster of their film ‘Babu’ which showed a strong fearless young man standing with confidence on a boat in the sea during a storm. So there was a curiosity to know the identity of this young man. Now, the makers of this film have announced his name and he is dashing and handsome Ankit Mohan, who will be playing this title role in the film.
Ankit is not new to Marathi film lovers. He has been part of many big banner historical Marathi films. Moreover, he is also a popular Hindi TV star. Recently, the muhurat of this film was performed when the poster of his new look was unveiled. Pooja Sawant to play a doctor in much-awaited horror film ‘Bali’
Gorgeous Marathi actress Pooja Sawant is all set to surprise her fans and admirers in the forthcoming horror Marathi film ‘Bali’. Pooja is playing a doctor in this film, which is eagerly awaited by the audience . ‘Bali’ (बळी) is Produced by Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartik D Nishandar of GSEAMS is all set to release on April 16. Directed by Vishal Furia, the film features Marathi superstar Swwapnil Joshi in key role.
Known for her rom-coms and dramatic films, Pooja Sawant has been featured against one of the most successful actors from the Marathi film industry Swwapnil Joshi. Incidentally, ‘Bali’ is Pooja’s second film with director Vishal Furia after ‘Lapachhapi’ (read review) , which was applauded by audience and critics as well. The poster of this film was released recently, with Pooja grabbing it entirely with a stethoscope in her hand.
Speaking about her role in ‘Bali’ , Pooja says, “Yes, I am a part of Vishal’s second Marathi film as well. It is always great to work with a director who has a clear vision and knows what he is upto, perfectly well. Being part of the film is icing on the cake as I am sharing the screen with Swwapnil Joshi for the first time. Kedar Shinde releases poster of his new film ‘Baipan Bhaari Deva’

Kedar is now returning to Marathi films after a gap of three years with his new film ‘Baipan Bhaari Deva’. This film is produced by Madhuri Bhosale’s Screenshots Production and with this film Madhuri is making her debut as a producer in Marathi film industry. Through her production house she has already made progress on television , OTT and audio field and now this year they have promised more projects.

Raj More bags National award for best director on debut for short film ‘Khisa’
Debutant director Raj More has bagged National award for best debutant director for his short film ‘Khisa’, in the non feature film category. ‘Khisaa’ has already invited attention of the critics at the Indian and international festivals, where it was selected for screening. Reacting on this happy occasion, director Raj More says, ” You are all aware that for the past one year ‘Khisa’ has invited attention of people from all over the world, wherever this film was screened at different international film festivals. And now, with this National award I am very happy. This award is not my individual award, but belongs to the entire team of ‘Khisa’. ‘Khisa’ was also selected at the 51st Indian International Film Festival in Goa. In Istambul Film Awards, ‘Khisa’ received best short film and best screenplay awards and now for the IFA’s annual Live Screening Event for Golden Star award to be held in Istambul, Turkey in March 2021 the film has become eligible. Written by Kailash Waghmare, the story of this film revolves around a small boy from a village . The film stars Kailash Waghmare, Meenakshi Rathod, Shruti Madhideep, Dr. Sheshpal Ganvir and Vedant Kshirsagar.
