Nilesh Gavand introduces ‘Cinemaawale’ -the new Mobile Digital Movie Theatre
Cinema needs to reach out to remote areas of rural Maharashtra, as today people living there also need some kind of entertainment . At many such places there is no provision of cinema halls. To reach out to such people, renowned film editor Nilesh Gavand has come out with a new concept ‘Cinemaawale’ , which is a new mobile digital theatre, which is portable tent house with air conditioning, sound technology and big screen facility inside. This will help take cinema closer to such rural people, who are otherwise deprived of this kind of entertainment.

Nilesh Gavand tried this experiment recently with the Hindi film ‘Dabang 3′ in two remote villages such as Waduth in Satara and Tasgaon in Sangli district and received overwhelming response with housefull shows. Through his new concept ‘Cinemawale’ Mr. Gavand will be focusing on carrying new released films to such places. But, it remains to be seen, how much attention will be paid to newly released Marathi films?
Sayaji and Girish come together in ‘Institute of Pavtology’

Forthcoming Marathi film‘Institute of Pavtology’ has been generating
a lot of curiosity among Marathi film lovers, for different reasons. Earlier, the title of this film had created a lot of interest when the film was launched. Now, it has come to notice that National award winning actor Girish Kulkarni will be seen along with popular Marathi, Hindi and South Indian film actor Sayaji Shinde for the first time. Directed by Prasad Namjoshi and Sagar Vanjari this film is likely to present a strong conflict between the characters to be portrayed by these two strong artistes.
Produced by Fatmar Films LLP the theme of this film is based on story of Environment friendly scholar and writer Santosh Shintre. Prasad Namjoshi has written the screenplay and dialogues of this film , which also has a big team of versatile artistes besides Girish Kulkarni and Sayaji Shinde. The director duo is confident that the audience would welcome their new subject besides appreciating the performances of the artistes.
Amruta Khanvilkar to play glamorous comedy role in ‘Choricha Mamla’
Amruta Khanvilkar has played a variety of roles through Marathi and Hindi films for the past 12 years. She has always tried to do something different through all those characters she portrayed till date. Now, Amruta will be seen in a glamorous comedy role in forthcoming Marathi film ‘Choricha Mamla’ which will be released next year on 31st January 2020.

Presented by Everest Entertainment and produced by Sudhakar Omle, Aakash Pendharkar, Sachin Narkar & Vikas Pawar this film is written and directed by Priyadarshan Jadhav who will return to direction after his debut as director through the film ‘Maska’. Music of this film is composed by Chinar Mahesh. Only few days ago the makers of this film had released the first look of Jitendra Joshi . And now, we find Amruta in a glamorous look holding a Pistol in his hand. The name of her character has been disclosed as Shraddha. More details of this film will be known only after the release of film’s trailer shortly.
Shalilaja Kanade, Sanjay Chavan win Sur Taal competition
The much talked about Sur Taal Karoke Club presented final round of singing competition concluded recently at Ravindra Natya Mandir , recently, in presence of chief guest renowned Music director Ashok Patki. Along with him were Ramakant Pande, the chief assistant director of films like “Pangira’, “Sanai Choughae’, ‘Jogwa’ ’72 Miles Ek Pravas’ and music director of Marathi films Mr. Satishchandra More as special guests.

Sanngeet Visharad Nanu Gurjar, Popular Singer Yashwant Kulkarni and representative of audience Anand Deodhar were judges of this competition. From among the 141 competitors 12 singers were shortlisted for the final round after two qualifying rounds. The final round turned out to be very interesting as every singer tried to make his or her presence felt through the variety songs rendered by them as per the choice of the judges. The final winners were Shailaja Kanade among the female singers, while Sanjay Chavan won the best male singer award. The runners up prizes were awarded to Smita Rao and Smeer Joshi. Sampada Kulkarni and Umesh Kamblereceived consolation prizes. The special award of the judges went to Sandeep Gogate.
Mahesh Kalekar and his team of Sur Taal group worked hard to make this competition a grand success. Ashwin Bapat anchored the show and also had an interesting chit chat with the chief guest Ashok Patki to entertain the invitees.
‘इभ्रत’ मध्ये दिसणार ‘मल्हार-मायडी’ची तरल प्रेमकथा

तिकीटबारीवर गाजलेल्या रेडू आणि टकाटक या चित्रपटाचे लेखक संजय नवगिरे यांनी ‘इभ्रत‘ या चित्रपटाची पटकथा आणि संवाद लिहिले आहेत. डॉल्फिन सिनेक्राफ्ट या बॅनरखाली श्रुती वसंत दांडेकर यांनी या चित्रपटाची निर्मिती केली आहे. तर प्रवीण रमेश क्षीरसागर यांनी इभ्रतच्या दिग्दर्शनाची धुरा सांभाळली आहे. या चित्रपटात संजय शेजवळ, शिल्पा ठाकरे, सुरेश विश्वकर्मा असे प्रमुख कलाकार दिसणार आहेत.

‘Tujhyat Jeev Rangala’ fame Raj Hanchanale ties his knot with Molly
Raj Hanchanale who plays the character of Sunny Da in popular TV serial ‘Tujhyt Jeev Rangala’ is no more a bachelor. He has tied his wedding knot with his girl friend Molly Deswal recently. While Raj is originally from Kolhapur and Molly belongs to Haryana . Raj met Molly six year ago in Mumbai as she too belongs to film industry and was into modelling . They friendship grew to result into marriage.

Raj Hanchanale first met Molly in 2013 during a play ‘Dushyant Priya’. At present Molly works for a production house. They had already decided to have a destination wedding and therefore selected the picturesque place Ratnagiri which also has a beautiful beach spread across the greenery and mountains. Both were so much engrossed into preparation for their marriage for the past 3 to 4 months and found two days for their destination wedding. Both have postponed their honeymoon till March 2010, as Raj has committed his dates till that time. They even could not invite their colleagues for this event.

To think about making an acting career that too in a situation when are dependent on others, is like a dream. But, for Prithvik Pratap it was like accepting a challenge. Prithvik lost his father when he was only one and half years old. His maternal uncle looked after all his needs and therefore, Prithvik shall always remain grateful to his uncle, for whatever he is today. Since his college days , he could find time for his experimental plays, besides doing a job.

Today, he has achieved something what he aspired for in the acting field. From small roles to bigger roles, his journey goes on to expect something big. Having done few Marathi films like ‘Premache Side Effects’ , ‘Pyarwali Lov Story’ , TV programme like ‘Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra’, & ‘Jago Mohan Pyare’, Prithvik slowly came into limelight. And now, he is playing lead role in a web series on Netflix. Marathi Movie World spoke to this ambitious actor. Excerpts from the chit chat with him.
Q: How your acting career started ?
A: While in college, I was associated with One act plays. During those days, I got an opportunity to perform in three Hindi films, where I found small roles. Later, while doing a job, I had an offer for audition in a play and that’s how was my entry as an actor.

Q: You got a break on television through ‘Jago Mohan Pyare’. How did this happen?
A: Actually, I had given audition for Manya’s role in this serial, which was going on for a month. Though I was rejected for this role, I was asked to give audition for the character of Rahul and I was selected in just one day’s time, to make my acting debut on television in a Marathi serial.
Q: Whom do you consider your ideal in this acting field ?
A: Nana Patekar and Shahrukh Khan are my ideals.
Q: You are also performing with Shahrukh Khan in a film. Could you please tell us about it ?
A: It was my dream to meet Shahrukh Khan personally and also perform with him. And through this film my dream was fulfilled. This film will be released on Netflix and my character is of serious type and not a comedy .
Q: Having done web series, how was your experience there?
A: When I did the web series ‘Back Benchers’ it turned out to be my favourite film. It has found a place in my heart. I am receiving a lot of mails from people especially from Aurangabad, Jalna, Dhule regions. So, I formed a what’s app group of these people. In the second part of this series, I have decided to invite all these people.
Q: At present how busy are you with Serials and stage plays ?
A: I am doing an experimental – ‘Je Je Hoil te Pahave’ and three shows of this play have been performed. But, there will be shows of this play only for next 2- 3 months.
Q: How do you spend your free time ?
A: I love to watch English films. Besides, I play cricket and keep myself busy playing video games.
Q: Last but not the least, tell us something about your family background?
A: I live in Vikhroli with my family comprising of Myself, My mother, my brother and my sister in law. When I was one and half year old, my father passed away. My maternal uncle looked after me. Today, whatever I am, it is all because of my Uncle. I am grateful to him.
Makarand Deshpande to make his acting debut on Marathi stage
Renowned Hindi stage and film actor Makarand Deshpande, who made began his acting career with Inter Collegiate Drama competitions, later turned writer director of many Hindi plays. He also performed in Hindi plays and was also seen in prominent roles in some of the Hindi films. Now, Makarand wants to make his acting debut in Marathi, through his favourite play ‘Sir,Premacha Kaay Karaycha’ which is written and directed by him.

Looking at the title of this play, it is clear that the play talks about ‘Love’ . But, it is a different type of love, which just happens. What if a girl student falls in love with her Sir ? This is what the subject of this film is all about. Along with Makarand, the other important artistes in this play are Ajay kamble, Aakansha Gade, Madhuri Gavali, Ninad Limaye and Aniket Bhoir. The inaugural show of this play is scheduled to be held on 19th December at Gadkari Rangayatan, Thane, followed by second show at kalidas , Mulund on 21st December 2019.
Speaking about his debut on Marathi stage, Makarand says, “I have written many Hindi plays over the years and also directed some of them besides acting. I have performed these plays in various parts of the country, like Gujarat, Rajastan, U.P., M.P, Kolkatta and Delhi. Now, I want to perform in my mother tongue Marathi and therefore I have selected my favourite drama for my debut on Marathi stage. I am sure that the Marathi audience would accept me in the same way I was accepted in Hindi.”
Dr Shreeram Lagoo will always be remembered for his remarkable performances
The sad news about the death of Legendary Marathi actor spread very fast on social media yesterday, with condolence messages pouring from celebrities and well wishers. They all recalled his remarkable performances on stage as well as films and his commitment to acting profession. Dr Shreeram Lagoo was 92. His funeral will take place on Thursday according to reliable sources. Having made his debut in acting in late sixties, Dr. Lagoo served this field for almost 50 years. Dr. Lagoo had stopped performing in films for the past few years and made special appearances only in few films, when the film makers shot his scenes at his residence in Pune.
Dr. Lagoo will always be remembered for his performance in the Marathi play ‘Natasamrat’. He performed in about 250 Marathi and Hindi films and also won the Filmfare award for best supporting actor in the film ‘Gharonda’. Dr. Jabbar Patel while paying tributes to the legendary actor, described him as an institution in himself. Every performance from him was worth experiencing. He was all praise for his monologues, which he described as worth listening with closed eyes. With his passing away, film industry has lost a marvel.
‘Jungjauhar’ will be a tribute to Great warrior Baji Prabhu Deshpande
During the period when Shiv Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was fighting against the aggression of Mughal Kings, there were many of his trusted people, who were ready to sacrifice their lives for the safety of their respected King. One of them was Baji Prabhu Deshpande. Baji’s main role was in many battles, but he played a key role in safety of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj, when Siddhi Jouhar surrounded the Panhalgad fort with his soldiers.

It was Baji Prabhu Deshpande who suggested his Shivaji Maharaj to proceed to Vishalgad , realizing the Vijapur army following him and he himself along with his brother Fulaji and 300 Bandal soldiers fought a fierce battle in Ghodkhind bravely, till Shivaji Maharaj reached Vishalgad. The great sacrifice of Baji Prabhu Deshpande and his soldiers can be seen in forthcoming Marathi film ‘JungJauhar’ , which will be released in June 2020.
Digpal Lanjekar who directed two history based films like ‘Farzand’ and ‘Fatehshikast’, will be directing this film for producers Ajay and Aniruddh Arekar. The teaser of this film has been released recently.
