‘पेठ’ – आजच्या समाजव्यवस्थेवर भाष्य करणारा आगामी चित्रपट
अनेक वेगळ्या धाटणीचे सिनेमे मराठीत येत आहेत. प्रेमासाठी सगळी बंधने झुगारत, आजच्या समाजव्यवस्थेवर भाष्य करणारा असाच एक वेगळा ‘पेठ’ या आगामी चित्रपटाचा शानदार संगीत अनावरण सोहळा नुकताच अखिल भारतीय मराठी चित्रपट महामंडळाचे अध्यक्ष श्री. मेघराज राजेभोसले यांच्या उपस्थितीत संपन्न झाला. ‘शारदा फिल्म प्रोडक्शन’ ची प्रस्तुती असलेल्या ‘पेठ’ चित्रपटाचे निर्माते श्री. विरकुमार शहा तर दिग्दर्शक अभिजीत साठे आहेत.
वेगवेगळ्या जॉनरची पाच गाणी या चित्रपटात आहेत. या गाण्यांना पी.शंकरम यांच्या संगीताची साथ लाभली आहे. समाजातील दोन भिन्न वर्गातल्या प्रेमवीरांची ही कथा प्रेक्षकांच्या मनाला नक्कीच भावेल असे मत दिग्दर्शक अभिजीत साठे यांनी व्यक्त केले.
वृषभ शहा आणि नम्रता रणपिसे ही नवी जोडी ‘पेठ’ या चित्रपटाचा निमित्ताने मराठी रुपेरी पडद्यावर येणार आहे. यासोबत निशिगंधा वाड, महेशदादा देवकाते, सायली शिंदे, अभिषेक शिंदे, विशाल टेके, सुरज देसाई, विकास कोकरे, महेश पांडे, प्रियांका उबाळे, रुक्सार परवीन, अस्मिता पन्हाळे या कलाकारांच्या चित्रपटात भूमिका असणार आहेत. या चित्रपटाचे लेखन, पटकथा, संवाद तसेच कलादिग्दर्शन अभिजीत साठे यांचे आहे. नेत्रसुखद आणि सुश्राव्य संगीताने नटलेला हा चित्रपट लवकरच प्रेक्षकांच्या भेटीला येत आहे. या संगीत अनावरण सोहळ्यात विशेष उपस्थिती ठरली ती सुरेल गायिका कार्तिकी गायकवाड हिची. कार्यक्रमाचे सूत्रसंचालन दिग्दर्शक प्रकाश धींडले यांनी केले.
First look poster of Samit Kakkad’s next Marathi film ’36 Gunn’ released
Samit Kakkad who earlier directed Marathi films of different generes like ‘Aayna Ka Bayna’, ‘Half Ticket’ and ‘Aascharya Chakit’ is now getting ready with his next Marathi film ’36 Gunn’ which will be released next year 2020. The first look poster of this film was released recently. Through this film Writer Hrishikesh Koli and director Samit Kakkad are expected to present a good equation.
Santosh Juvekar and Purva Pawar will play lead central roles in this film will comment on the mentality of relationships of today’s youth on the marriage system. Highlight of this film is that it has been shot at 90 different locations in London and Mumbai. Produced by Samit Kakkad, Mohan Nadar and Savitri Vinod Gaikwad the cinematography of this film is by award winning cinematographer Prasad Bhende. First look poster of this film also indicate a lot. In short, there is a lot expected from this film.
Chandrashekhar Sandve to return with his new film ‘Bibtya’
After directing a sensible Marathi film ‘Samarthya’ , Chandrashekhar Sandve will be returning with his new film ‘Bibtya’ . Made under the banner of Swayambhu Productions , he has just completed the shooting of this film in Shivni Kotal village of Latur District. ‘Bibtya’ is a Marathi name of Leopard which are now days seen in villages and even urban areas and we find their coverage on news channels highlighting their scare among people living at such places. Therefore, there is a lot of curiosity among Marathi film lovers, as to what will be offered to them through this film?
‘Sanskruti Kaladarpan’ fame Chandrashekhar Sandve has himself written the story and screenplay of this film, besides direction. He has presented ‘Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji’ TV serial fame actor Mahesh Kokate as a villain in this film. Along with him will be Vijay Patkar in a different type of role. The other important artistes of this film are, Pramod Pawar, Pravin Tarde, Ashok Kulkarni, Sachin Gawli, Somnath Tadwalkar, Subodh Pawar, Sushant Mandle, Aakash Mane, Suhas Ruke, Priyanka Kasale, Shivaji Redkar, Aakanksha Jadhav,Pratibha Shimpi, Priya Sathe, Varsha Patel & Antara Patil. This film will also introduce a new pair in the form of Shubham Patil and Supriya Patil.
Dialogues by Kamalesh Khandale, editing by Nilesh Gawand & Pooja Sawant , cinematography by Ganesh Pawar, lyrics by Subodh Pawar and music by Vijay Gatlewar are the other credits of this film.
Usha Jadhav bags IFFI international award for best actress
National award winning actress Usha Jadhav has one more feather in her cap. The talented young actress has now bagged most prestigious international award for best actress , at the International Film Festival of India ( IFFI), which concluded in Goa recently. 200 films from 76 countries had participated in this festival. Usha bagged this award for her brilliant performance in Marathi film ‘Mai Ghat: Crime No. 103/2005′ directed by Anant Mahadevan.
Usha’s name for recommended for this prestigious and by the team of Jury comprising of UK director Lily Ramsey, French Director Robin Campello, Chinese director Zan Ang and Indian Film director Ramesh Sippy. Oscar Academy President John Belly who was head of th Jury was high praise for Usha’s performance in this film. His wife Carol Littletone has also praised Usha for her remarkable performance in this film.
Reacting on this memorable moment, Usha thanked director Anant Mahadevan for the efforts taken by him to extract the best out of her and for selecting her for this role. She also thanked producer Mohini Gupta and her entire team for their support during the shooting. Usha has played a protagonist mother – Prabhavati Amma who fights a long battle of justice for 13 long years , against custodial death of her son. The story of this film is based on a real incident and therefore has a special significance. Along with Usha, the other prominent artistes who have performed in this film are, Suhasini Muley, Kamalesh Sawant, Dr. Girish Oak, Vibhavari Joshi and Vivek Chabukswar.
Marathi Play ‘Zund’ will present Kiran Mane in a challenging role

Kiran Mane has always kept a low profile. Having started his acting career through experimental theatre, Kiran came to Mumbai from Satara via Pune , when he broke the journey to join the theatre of workshop of Pt. Satyadev Dubey . Thereafter, he began his journey on stage with ‘Gandhi Virrudh Gandhi’, ‘Manomilan’, ‘Wada Chirebandi’. Later, with sensational Marathi play ‘Govind Ghya Kuni Gopal Ghya’, ‘Maayleki’, ‘Tee Geli Tevha’, ‘Shree Tashi Sou’ and ‘Perfect Mismatch’ , he established himself as a versatile actor, having won several awards for his performance. Kiran was also seen in television serials, but theatre has always been his first love.
Kiran will now be seen in forthcoming Marathi play ‘Zund’, the inaugural show of which will be held on 14th December 2019 at Prabodhankar Thackeray Auditorium , Borivali. This will be Kiran’s 10th commercial play and he seems to be very excited with the kind of challenging role he is playing in this play. ” This is a Mind boggling subject. And my character in this play will take me to greater heights.” Written by Samar Khadas, produced by Santosh Kanekar and directed by Pradeep Mulye, this play also stars Akshar Kothari, Shriram Gadgil, Sagar Athlekar, Pradeep Patwardhan, Sagar Pawar and Pooja Raibagi. This play is presented by Zee Marathi.
After ‘Hirakani’ Sonalee gets ready with ‘Vicky Velingkar’ coming Friday
With about 12 years of experience on big screen and two dozens of films, actress Sonalee Kulkarni was seen very recently in Marathi film ‘Hirkani’ based on history. And now, coming Friday her next Marathi film ‘Vicky Velingkar’ is all set for release. Sonalee is playing an interesting title role of a comic book artiste and a watch seller, who gets entangled in a murder mystery. The teaser and trailer of this film which were out on social media received mixed reactions from Marathi film lovers but one thing is sure that they would want to watch this film for a change.
In Marathi action filled suspense films are rarely seen. And, it all depends how the film receives treatment from the writer-director. For this film, the director of this film is from Bollywood, having done films like ‘Mickey Virus’, ‘7 hours to Go’ and ‘Solid Patels’. Moreover, other popular artistes like Sangram Samel, Spruha Joshi, Gaurav More, Vanita Kharat, Jui Pawar and others are part of the film’s star cast. More importantly, this film is produced by big names like GISSIMS, Anuja Chauhan Kudecha, Ritesh Kudecha, Sachin Maruti Lokhande and Atul Janardan Tarkar all coming together with other team of co producers.
So, it remains to be seen how our film lovers would respond to this new style of action filled suspense thriller this Friday?
‘Tattaad’ to release with a big bang on 21st Feb 2020
With its unique name forthcoming Marathi film ‘Tattaad’ will be released with a bang on 21st February 2010. With this film Prime Flicks will be entering the Marathi film production by presenting this film in a big way. Till now, Prime Flicks have produced web series like ‘Pending Love’, ‘Bhaadkhau’, ‘Thrkistan’, Ghost Leela’ and now with ‘Tattaad’ they will be entering Marathi film industry, which they call a Buzz World.
Produced by Rakesh Bhosale, Susheel Deshpande and Pritam Mhetre, this film is written and directed by Rahul Gautam Owhal. Till now, the names of the artistes in this film haven’t been disclosed. But, looking at the new production and presentation network coming into Marathi film industry, there is a lot of curiosity about this film.

With the change in lifestyle, today’s youngsters are expecting more freedom and space. Some of them get it very easily, while others who are brought up in a traditional family atmosphere, are denied the kind of extra freedom they expect from their parents. This happens especially with young college going girls, some of whom rebel against the traditional system to find their space. Latest released Marathi film ‘Girlz’ revolves around one such college going girl Mati Desai from a middle class family, whose father is a forest officer and mother an over protective housewife.
When her father is transferred to Kolhapur, Mati( Ankita Lande) along with her parents also lands in Kolhapur and takes admission in a Degree college. It is at this place, she decides to fulfill her dream of travelling all alone and selects her destination as Goa. With the help of her new friend Sakha Dhole Patil- SKD( Parth Bhalerao) she somehow manages to seek permission from her father , who allows her to go on this trip, but her mother puts a condition that every hour she should report herself on video call. In Goa, Mati meets two young girls from different culture . While Rumi ( Anvita Phaltankar) who is emotional, wants to get back her boyfriend after a break up, while Maggie ( Ketki Narayan) is a flirt who needs a new male partner daily to sleep with.
Inspired by Maggie’s lifestyle and her freedom, Mati initially tries to bring in change in her, but when her photos in swim suite become viral on social media her father calls her back. Her mother slaps her. Not satisfied with the pressure, Mati flees her home on the eve of her birthday to join her friends in Goa. But, this time she learns a lesson from the experience she gets, after meeting the family members of her friends. In short, the writer Hrishikesh Koli and director Vishal Deorukhkar have taken the liberty to highlight the new lifestyle of girls, where they go off the track only to prove themselves by adopting all those wrong habits like excessive smoking, drinking, disco and sex. Through the character of Maggie they have tried to show how she inspires and encourages others to follow her footsteps, while trying to prove how she is right in doing so.
The actual theme of the film begins after interval, when Mati gets the real experience of this so called freedom . How she faces this situation and what she finally decides, is what the writer- director have tried to present through this film. At the same time they have tried to show how important are family values , when it comes to proper upbringing of the children by their parents. Dialogues are rough and bold for Marathi a film. It seems the writer- director duo have taken this liberty to show the new lifestyle of youngsters , which was also seen in their previous films. Music does not appeal much, as there are predictable dance sequences inserted into the screenplay. But, the cinematography is good, giving better scope for the cameraman to capture the beauty of picturesque Goa.
Performances from all the characters are good. Especially, Ankita Lande in the role of Mati is more impressive. Devika Daftardar in the role of Mati’s mother also gives a notable performance. Parth Bhalerao and Anvita Phaltankar provide good humour through their respective roles. Good support comes from Sulbha Arya and Atul Kale through their character roles, while lyricist Swanand Kirkire surprises in the role of a Police officer . All in all, ‘Girlz’ shows the mirror of changing lifestyle of today’s youngsters. But, it does have the influence of some Hindi films with bold subjects. Now, it remains to be seen how the audience from different age group would respond to this subject?

मायदेश मिडिया निर्मित, नितीन सिंधुविजय सुपेकर दिग्दर्शन ‘आटपाडी नाईट्स’ या चित्रपटात ‘काहे दिया परदेस’ फेम अभिनेत्री सायली संजीव या चित्रपटात मुख्य भूमिकेत असणार आहे. एका मध्यमवर्गीय कुटुंबाभोवती गुंफण्यात आलेल्या ‘आटपाडी नाईट्स’ची कथा एका संवेदनशील विषयावर अतिशय वेगळ्या अंदाजात, खुमासदार शैलीत भाष्य करणारी असल्याचे समजते. ‘आटपाडी नाईट्स’ चित्रपट लवकरच प्रदर्शित होणार आहे.
अभिनेता म्हणून दमदार वाटचाल सुरु असताना त्याने चित्रपट दिग्दर्शनात पाउल टाकले आणि ‘कट्यार काळजात घुसली’ या अजरामर संगीत नाटकाला चित्रपटरुपात प्रेक्षकांसमोर आणण्याची कामगिरी उत्तम निभावली. तर ‘पुष्पक विमान’ या चित्रपटातून निर्माता म्हणून पदार्पण करत एक वेगळा विषय प्रेक्षकांपुढे आणला. यानंतर आता चित्रपट क्षेत्रातील अजून एक शिखर सर करण्यास सुबोध भावे सज्ज झाला असून प्रस्तुतकर्ता म्हणून ‘आटपाडी नाईट्स’ हा त्याचा पहिला चित्रपट असणार आहे.
School girl Kasturi Kulkarni gets an international award for her science based film
Kasturi Kulkarni the 10th standard student of Deccan Education Society’s English Medium School is in the news. Kasturi has bagged the 3rd prize at the Prestigious International Science Film of India competition held in Kolkatta. The competition was held under the auspices of Indian Government’s initiative to spread and test the knowledge of Science among school and college students. When Kasturi came to know about this competition, she decided to make films on relevant subjects. First she made a film ‘Aajibaicha Batwa’ starring Seema Chandekar, which was based on traditional haling therapies as medicines. Now, this time she made a film ‘Symbiosis’ based on fungus formation around the tree.
Her film ‘Symbiosis’ was selected for screening at this prestigious festival, where there were entries from students from 60 different countries across the world. And Kasturi was awarded third prize for this film. Since childhood days Kasturi was passionate about acting and had joined Producer- director Raju Bhosale’s workshops which were based on science related subjects. Incidentally, Kasturi has not only acted in Raju Bhosale’s forthcoming multi-starrer Marathi film ‘Berij Vajabaki’ but has also worked as assistant director for this film. This film which was made last year, when Kasturi was studying in 9th standard is now due for release on 13th December 2019.
